I just really hope they fix the errors that you get while waiting in queue. I was lucky this morning but this noon- now evening I keep getting those errors and get booted all the way back to the end of the line.. I mean sometimes you start at where you got booted but that doesnt matter if u still have to start over on when reaching the last 100 :(
Sitting in a queue itself is not a big deal, it happens and its part of new releases but it would be great if the waiting line is fair and stable.
I just wanna play with my friends and have a fun weekend but they too are dealing with this errors issue.
Are those that don't complain and make fun of others currently online and have some sort of anti-kick mechanic to avoid going offline that they cant understand and have empathy to the sadness and frustration of those queue-errors?
Well thats the thing. Like any MMO every new patch/expansion comes with a huge hype and spike in player amounts which stabilizes and a weeks time once the initial hype dies down. Since you mentioned Blizzard. What happened when Classic launched? Huge queues, people demanding more servers and etc. Blizzard later caved and added servers. After 1 month - 3/4 of the servers were "dead" pop wise. Why waste potentially huge resources for a temporarily problem which will "fix it self" anyway? And no, I am not white-knighting or anything but thinking for a economical perspective.
They've gotten different servers since 8 years ago. They've even recently optimized the login servers. The code, however, is likely where your problem lies. That's the engine, not the server and yes it has been showing it's age for a while.
Small Indie company you know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No, I'm sitting in a 6k queue and actually did lose my spot earlier by way of 2002's after waiting 2 hours.. guess what I did? I went to do other things, in my case, play Star Trek Online. Oh it is frustrating and for all that I disagree with plenty of hot takes, I won't ever say people can't be pissed. But at some point you got to be sensible and recognize that you're not getting in at that moment. Like.. if you're sitting in a queue for 10+ hours today.. that's 9 hours you could have done other either useful or fun things with.
Take my advise, if you sat in queue for 2 hours and then lose your spot because of repeated 2002's.. go do something else, have fun with something else rather than just queue again and get angry. Yes it sucks but you do have ultimate control over how your day goes.
No, those of us who disagree with the hotter of takes and bad 'angry' attitudes aren't trolls who are sitting AFK in the game laughing at you. More likely we're sitting in the same queue as you, doesn't mean we have to feel and express things exactly the same way however.
The kicker is europe has mogstation maintenance on December 6th because the cash shop is obviously more important.
ALL OF THIS. I actually logged off so I could go take a shower and not AFK because I try to be a decent person. I'm all clean and sitting in queue, 572 for the past ten minutes from 1.4k. Maybe I'll get in. Maybe I won't. Shrug.
To those having a hard time, being frustrated is understandable, and no one is saying otherwise. One of our irl friends had a ton of difficulties getting on last night and we are on the same server. That being said, throwing a tantrum online and taking it out on your fellow players is childish. It's not about being angry, it's that you are using your anger to justify your bratty behavior.
Part of being an adult is accepting that no matter how prepared you are, no matter how fool-proof your plans, something can and will go wrong. Sometimes, you gotta eat your shitsandwich. That is life. You can be pissed, you can voice your frustrations in a constructive way that looks for solutions instead of placing blame, and then you move on until more information is given.
And this is exactly what I mean with bad attitudes and petulant behavior. You're not earning sympathy from anyone, hell I'm sitting in the same EU queues and I still think these kind of responses are infantile.
You can't circumvent it anymore though?
And what could they have done? They gave us warnings that there would be queues. Delay it indefinitely?
I get it, you're frustrated but be a little reasonable for two seconds. I see alot of rudness and insulting going on in this thread, although entertaining to read but stop acting so entitled and spoiled.
This is the biggest launch in the game history and you didn't expect any queues? Really?
You didn't pay for early access, it's a bonus when you pre-order.
Completely unrelated and I would guess is handled by a different team.
And how could devs done anything different? I'll wait.
EU has only 2 data centers and less servers than others DC . we are having loooooooooooooong queues , and the 2002 hits like a truck from 8k to 0 there are hours and the more time u are in queue the more chance are u get hit with 2002.
1.4k queue is what ? 30 min at most?
I'm on NA/Aether/Midgardsormr.
Queues were in the 4k+ Friday morning PST and 2002 errors were so frequent I gave up trying to login, came back in the late evening, they were in the 2k-1k range, no more 2002 errors, and was able to login within 30-40 minutes.
Today Saturday morning 12/4 10:37 AM PST I found a queue of 1k+, and have been sitting here browsing the forums for more than 40 minutes, it seems to go slower than yesterday. (Note to self: DO NOT try to log your alt level 70 character in Ulda'h next time to check her retainers, when you want to play your main toon in Sharlayan, you're gonna go thru the same queue AGAIN!)
All in all, it's been a pretty smooth launch, in my own MMO experience, and I've played many of them, most of them, starting from Ultima Online many many years ago. :-)
My only worry is I'm getting a queue where the number doesn't change. Like legit doesn't change. So I can't tell if it's glitched or if the queue is actually not moving.
I'm on an EU server, this morning at 6am I had a queue of 29. For those who have planned this weekend around playing, getting up early will make a huge difference.
Got 56 this morning, thought problems were fixed deco to make a pause, Been waiting for a little more than an hour to get back in.
Boy that was a mistake.
About queue I'm more worried on how it's gonna be on weekday. I can stand queue on w-e, but on weekdays, when I have about 2 hours a day to play, that's gonna be annoying. It's too late for this time, but I hope SE will do something in the future so it's not that bad next time. But Europe always has been the third wheel for SE. It's been decades. It's a little better, but still not good.
2002 is fine. Typically you can attempt to requeue and gain your spot back if you had one. 4004 is a harder one to deal with, it mean you lost your spot.
But yes, it's been said to death "I can't get into game, therefore game is bad." People just can't grasp the idea that millions are trying all at the same time and technology just isn't available to deal with that load. It honestly never has been. It's not an excuse, it's a reason. The apologies for the issues preceded the launch. Please stop being obstinate and understand the difference.
If you don't have the patience, entertain yourself with something else and alleviate the issue for others. The game will be here when you return. If you're valuing that "Fresh Expansion" feel. Guess what? This is part of it.
