WHM wishlist for 5.0

I've said this time and time again before but...
Please, no more Druid mage (a.k.a. CNJ). I've had enough of Stones and Aero. That doesn't feel like the WHM I thought FFXIV WHM was going to be.
I was never a fan of White Mage being tied strongly to nature. I'd like holy elemental spells like Banish or Dia.

Also, rework Lillies and add buffs like Faith/Bravery/Haste which could use Lillies. Imagine being able to keep up Haste on someone almost indefinitely as long as you get the Lillies.
Perhaps if they 'remove' the need for Protect, they could add it back to WHM. Either as GCD which costs a lot (and by that, I mean, a LOT) that provides some protection to the whole party (it may be kept up for some time but you have to be mindful of MP and it should only be used in damage intensive parts of fights) or a oGCD like in PVP.

If Haste was ever added, it would be given to AST, and Bravery and Faith, I wouldn't be surprised in the new healer is buff oriented, so it would get something like those.

Protect and Shell for WHM plz.

At the very least if they're not gonna give whm more utility than healing, which the class already has in abundance, then it needs more damage.
I agree that I don't want to see another stone or aero spell, although I don't see them moving away from nature spells. (though it brings up the question of what the heck the holy spell is)
How about a quake spell, a large ground targetable aoe that applies a powerful (by healer standards) but short duration dot?
Just something other than stone/aero clxxvi.

Technically, even as "Druid Mage" there would exist more possibilities than Stone and Aero... Given the fact that Fire, Lightning, Ice and Water Sprites are natural (In fact, you actually face Water and Lightning Sprites as a WHM when aiding the elementals, not to mention CNJ having "Trial by Water" where you go cleanse water sprites to learn Fluid Aura)

Fire/Lightning/Ice are classified as "Black Magic" though, but if we take the CNJ/WHM lore at face value where they gain powers from the elements and nature, then they theoretically should all be viable tools of a WHM.

More Holy aspected spells would also work (Even though, some of them are also "Black Magic"... Like Banish and Dia used to be THM spells)

For me, there isn't any lore suporting that priest-y White Mage. There aren't any church ran by white mages, White Magick is about conjury and was regulated by the Amdapor Magick (magic, not holy) Consortium, White Mages took part at the War of the Magi, Conjurers draws their Aether from elementals, and so on.

The only priest-y elements on White Mage are the names of some actions, who - with the exception of Holy - can safely renamed to something magic, such as Benediction that can be renamed to Full-Cure without any impact on the lore. And those names is to give to White Mages the idea of being the Black Mage counterpoint, and vice and versa (Foul can be the Holy counterpoint, for instance). But, at the end of the day - lore-wise at FFXIV - White Mage is a conjurer and will use conjury.

Without going into any end-game micro-calculations or comparing WHM to other Healers... I'll be happy with throwing bigger stones. Seriously though, either drop the pure-healer malarchy and add utility, or continue embracing pure-healer provided we have the damage to balance said lack of utility. Don't care how or which way.

Sounds a bit like that would be similar to the 'Sacrifice' spell/ability from earlier games, or 'White Hole' (edit: or Banish) . I'm all in for some variation of Holy where I don't have to run into a mob; a small gAOE Holy Mist/Aurorastorm or Heaven's Gate maybe?

Eschaton and Almagest would probably be asking too much, and same with Rainbow Wind, since they are powerful enemy abilities. Holy Breath used to be an item or an ability for Dragons/Dragoons so that's probably out as well.

I'd be happy going either way - some utility that isn't replicated by the other healers, like a haste.
Otherwise, WHM needs to be head and shoulders above all other healers with damage.
I'm concerned that with a 4th healer, whm will fade to oblivion

I'd like Holy to proc into Luminescence* (from FFXII), or Evanescence** after Thin Air for a finisher? Preferably they would be able to be fired from a distance so that we won't have to run into mobs, e.g. targeting all within range that's on our enemy list. Lilies could be included in some form, e.g consume 2-3 lilies and trigger Evanescence, otherwise trigger Luminescence? The potential upgrade to Aero III, I'd like to be Tornado/Cyclone that could proc from e.g. crit. dmg. by Aero III, with a new Aero Mastery trait that temporarily switch out Aero III on the hot-/crossbar (to avoid button bloat, and make it easier to use) when that happens so we could just trigger it to drop Tornado as a ground aoe where the enemy stood when it was activated. If there was a water spell like (Flash) Flood that gave 'dropsy', the Tornado could maybe consume the Aero III and 'dropsy' status effect for a slight increase in potency.

Except, there's not even a spec of lore tying WHM to those things in XIV. Why should we undo lore grounding in something with better prospects for versatility (all Light Wheel elements, coalescing into and through White magic) just so we can have a smaller, blander toolkit of fancier names? That's not to say we cannot or should not get Banish and Dia in some form, but those should be buffed-state spells if you actually want them to feel at all special. Try spamming two spells 24/7 and see how special they still feel after. Glower was cool once, too. Ahk Morn, Nostrond, and Deathflare still retain a little of that because at least they're special to the rotations, as well.

If anything, we should be embracing those other elements for utility that doesn't look or feel like the "utility" provided by AST and SCH. No more middling %stat or %effect raid buffs. Instead, ways to move the party very quickly via resource built by Wind spells. Accelerateable and/or empowerable Benisons through Stoneskin augmentation through casting Earth spells. oGCD cleanses and oGCD interaction afforded by Water (Curative) casts. Etc., etc.

I want to see more Conjury. A lot more. It's fine if the new effects of that span only 1-50, but WHM feels short of ground-work for anything more interesting than an identity of "most straightforward (barebone), obvious healer caricature". From there, White magic can start shaping towards more classically "WHM" things, sourced by those new CNJ skills and mechanics. Introduce Soulfont, a way to coalesce elemental magics into White magic, at level 50, and steadily make more off of that over level 52-60, ending in Soulfont phase now compounding towards some extreme strength hits. From 62-80, extra as much utility as from that as possible without stepping into any territory of raidwide %stat or %effect buffs.

I´d like more utility too - any kind. SCH and AST got stat buffs and shields while WHM only heals (he´s a bomb at healing but still).

Not to mention its limited utility...I can't recall the last time I used CureIII because PUGs don't stack.

Cure III may be hard to use in PUGs, but without it, WHM would suffer even more. I don't even want to to imagine solo healing on WHM without Cure III. Especially if you look back to doing old content (which they need to keep at least somewhat relevant). While AST and SCH have things like Indom and Earthly Star, WHM relies on Cure III for the same burst heal effect. Casting it multiple times is also critical. And actually this includes current content. Solo healing O10S is my go-to right now, and dealing with the second Akh Morn (leading into the lightning), I use Cure III (x3) under Largesse and Thin Air to ensure everyone is topped off going through Akh Morn, then spread out for the Lightning and Medica II + Plenary. Doing that without Cure III would be hell and/or impossible. Doing it with Cure III as a one-off oGCD would probably be possible, but unwieldy compared to other healers, who have more tools to combine with their one-off burst heals to make up for it (SCH could Adlo spread with SS into Indom and Succor for the lightning; AST could CU + ES, pop the ES to heal the Akh Morn damage, followed or combined with a Helios or a tank's shield, then extend all effects to Regen all the lightning damage... Though I'm only educated guessing here, since I've only done this tier on WHM.

[I'm not sure if it's ok to compare XIV stuff to other games in these forums, so sorry beforehand].

When I first heard about the WHM lilies I thought it was cool, because at the time I still played WoW and holy priests had a similar trait where certain spells would lower the cd of the big spells. Difference is...the spells in question were actually a normal part of their rotation, not that one basic spell you kinda ignore unless everything else is on cd.

To put a better comparison, or even potential rework, think of this:

Each Stone cast and Aero II/III tick lowers the cd of Presence of Mind
Each Medica, Medica II, Cure III, or Holy cast lowers the cd of Asylum and Assize
Each Cure and Cure II cast, or Regen ticks lowers the cd of Benediction, Tetragrammaton, and Divine Benison.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a cd reduction, it could be a potency increase, a cd reset if crit, etc, but TL;DR, just make the job more dynamic and incentivize WHMs to use their whole kit. NO ONE spends most of their time casting exclusively Cure and Cure II.

Also this. I'm aware that traditionally speaking, WHM are more of a cleric theme, but since it's also a CNJ (aka totally not a druid) it makes sense to have more nature oriented spells.

I want them to bring back Stoneskin I and Stoneskin II for WHM. The emphasis on healer diversity needs to be de-emphasized when there's only 3 (possibly 4th incoming in 5.0) healers. With DPS you can have dupes, because who cares? But nobody wants 2 WHMs or 2 SCHs in their comp. So either give all healers the basic kit of shield/regen/heals/AoE/oGCDs, or give each healer a stance like AST to augment their skills to favor either shielding or healing. I'd like them to retool Cleric's Stance and make it WHM only again but make it shift between adding shields on Cures vs more potent cures (and re-add another +5% damage DPS buff to cross-role, but under a new name since the current CS is not even a "stance" anymore). For Scholar, have it tied to the fairy. Eos=bonus potency to Physick/Regens, Selene=Bonus potency to shields

I like the idea floating around about gaining Planetary Indulgence stacks over time. Maybe criticals of media 2/Regen. That way spa mung Medica 1 or cure 3 is not the only way to quickly build them.

So, what I would like for WHM

Imo, WHM lacks practical ogcd skill heals, Asylum is strong but hard to use effectively due to its size and positional requirement, Assize is mostly used as a dps skill so I have an issue considering this one as a proper AoE heal in its current state(it's still the best we got), Devine Benison is fine... I suppose and Tetragramation just has too long of a CD for its effect.
Plenary Indulgence is now in a great position I believe.

Therefor what I would like

Improvement to current set

Freecure : Grants a 10% chance that after casting any spell, the MP cost for your next Cure II will be 0 and instant.
Duration: 20s

StoneIV : Cast time reduced to 1.5s, recast unchanged
Just let them weave....

Asylum : Potency increase to 200 (100% bonus) duration reduced to 12s (halved) - extra: Increase radius to Sacred Soil size
Goal: Making that skill more suited for AoE heal when people can't just stay put for 24s. It shouldn't be strickly inferior to Collective Unconscious, it should be a good alternative.

Tetragrammation : Cooldown reduced to 45s.
Base cooldown is just too long compared to Essential Dignity. Making it strickly inferior in most situation.

Plenary Indulgence : Assize and Asile refresh the duration

New skill set
First, I won't wish for any "utility" because I believe we won't receive any. I think SE wants to keep the whm the most straightforward it can possibly be, therefor let's make it straighforwardly good (yes yes that's a word...)


Beacon of Light : Increase healing received by the WHM spells by 15%. Additionally, Regen reapply itself after fading. Last 2min. Recast 60s
Only one target can be a beacon of light at a time.

Goal : Currently, WHM/AST combo struggle with AA compared to anything/SCH because of the lack of a fairy (which is a free unlimited HoT). With this change, a 15% stronger and permanent Regen a WHM/AST combo would spend less time healing boss's AA. (So more dpsss)
This should hopefully free enough gcd for a substantial dps boost. With this a WHM/SCH combo would definitely make tank healing trivial (more than it currently is I suppose)

Stone Wall the return : Apply a shield absorbing 10% of the player total hp - Ability - Recast : 90s. Last 30s.
Goal : Grant WHM some much needed mitigation for the heaviest attack. Most high tier boss always have that one attack hitting like a truck making Dome / CI a must.
90s should be enough to cover most big attack or allow for rotation with other similar abilities.

AeroIV (because we obviously need a new spell rank) :
Deals wind damage with a potency of 150.
Additional Effect: Wind damage over time
Potency: 80
Duration: 12s
Additional Effect: StoneIV refresh AeroIV duration to 12s.
Goal : That should free up enough gcd to substantially increase WHM damage (if played properly). The 150 initial potency would also help WHM deal damage while moving the need arise.

Secret of the Lily
Adds a Lily to your Healing Gauge[U], while in combat, Regen tick starts blossoming a lily, Lily blossom after 6 Regen tick. Lilies are consummed by "Lily Strenght". Entering combat always grant one lily
Only one regen at a time grants a blossom.
The idea would be to have a visual aid for the lily timer. Every 3s a Lily on the gauge grow a bit bigger. A lily is available after 6 ticks (so 18s)

Lily Strenght Instant - Ability : Recast 5s.
Enhance your next spell with additional effect

CureI : Increase chance to gain Freecure to 100%
CureII : Heals an additional injured player within 15yalm, prioritize lower hp player.
CureIII : Increase healing potency to 1500. Heal only one target.
Medica : Increase Potency to 500 and reduce cast time to 1.5s.
MedicaII : initial Cure Potency removed, Regen effect cure potency increased to 100.
Regen : Regen also increase your healing done to the player by 20% for its duration.
StoneI-IV : If target is below 20% hp, kills it. Does not work on stronger ennemies (boss). note: StoneI-IV only consume the lily if the additional effect is triggered.

Goal : Lilies works similarly to a Eatherflux, except that you generate them over time (and not 3 every 60s) and are used to enhance the next gcd.
I purposely didn't make something like "Stone: Increase damage done by 50%" because I have the feeling Y.P will specifically want to avoid whm spending all their lilies on DPS.
On the otherhand, I felt like healer leveling needed a small push, so now WHM can finish off low hp target in a pinch ^^.
As a side note: Specifically because Y.P recently said he doesn't like the current state of healers in the game (spending too much time dpsing) I somewhat assume we'll be less OP in ShB. So by definition all this extra heal should be seen as "welcomed" and not "useless because boss don't hurt enough".

Secret of the Lily II : Lily Strength can now be used on Assize, Asylum or Tetragrammation. Doing so reduce the recast time by 10s, 25s and 10s respectively.

Secret of the Lily III : Lily Strength can now be used on Raise.
Additional Effect - Wither - Cannot use Lily Strenght with Raise. Last 60s.

Raise - Resurrects target to a normal state with full health and mana. Instant.

Call of the element : Call forth the spirit of the element, enhancing your next offensive spell into a greater form. Ability 120s - Consume all Lilies
Additional effect : Cooldown reduced by 10s per Lily Consummed when used.

StoneIV : Becomes Earthquack - Deals earth damage to all nearby enemies with a potency of 350.
AeroIV : Becomes Hurricane - Inflict wind damage to all nearby enemies affected by AeroIII and AeroIV. One effect : 250 potency Two effect : 500 potency
Additional effect : Refresh AeroIII and IV.
Holy : Becomes Water Spirit - Summon a Water Spirit to help you in battle. Last 30s

Water spirit abilities :
Refresh : Restores target's HP. 3s cast Cure Potency: 400
Healing Mist : Place a Healing Mist on self gradually restoring HP of all party members within the mist. Potency 180 last 18s
Flood : Deals water damage to all nearby enemies with a potency of 200.

And I'd like to add some Aether-themed action. And about lillies, for me the soluion for them is:

Scrap lillies. Seriously. Just delete healing bar, SoTL and SoTL II. It won't make any difference for us.

But if S-E likes to add another thing for WHM, then add a Elemental Aether Gauge. It can measure how much aether you've drawn from the elementals. It fills everytime you use a GCD (Cure, Medica, Regen, Stone, Aero, etc). It'll be more straightforward than RDM's, since it'll be just one bar. It'll enhance the oGCDs, adding an bonus damage/heal while you have the buff added when you choose to release the mana using an action learned at level 73 (maybe Elemental Release?).

WHM has been my main for most of FFXIV, and still is. I've seen a lot of great suggestions over the various expansions on how the class could be made better; some really great ones in this thread. Tying the class more closely with it's main-line heritage while enhancing it's current quirks would be a great way to reinvigorate the class.

Here's my wishlist:

Add Wall
WHM should always have protect in one form or another. Protect was almost removed from the game entirely with Stormblood because you can just rebalance content around it not being there. Yoshi-P insisted that it stay however since it's such a core spell of Final Fantasy. I agree. In the same vein, Shell should also be in the game. The classic White Magic "Wall" spell delivers both Shell and Protect in FF. Let WHM reclaim protect, add shell, and give it a drastically shorter duration and increased benefits. Make it a spell you insta-cast at the start of each pull or during battle, just like a real FF game. But keep it group based! An individual cast version, like in pvp, doesn't appeal to me. Oh, and of course, give it a new animation.

Add Berserk
Looking for a way to buff the DPS? You got it. Many may forget that Berserk is traditionally White Magic. Now, I'm not suggesting it lock DPS out of their skills like actual berserk, but I'd propose that casting it doubles Auto-Attack speed and increases Auto-Attack damage by %50. Or something. I'm not a numbers person, whatever amount makes it worthwhile. That can be a huge increase in DPS for one player. Then put it on a cooldown that's also balanced. Maybe once every two pulls? Cheers. (Also rename the WAR lvl 6 skill)

Water Damage Spell... Deluge?
Please. PLEASE. I know I'm going to get a Stone upgrade already, it's fine, I accept that! But god damn it please break up the monotony of Wind and Stone. Give me flashy water effects to drown my enemies with! And better yet, add some synergy between it and Aero. Let this skill add a "Drenched" DoT leading to...

Typhoon
A trait that upgrades the damage on your Aero II cast if the target is suffering from a "Drenched" status effect, turning Aero II/III into Typhoon. This releases the rest of the DoT ticks from drenched as well as all the DoT damage of an Aero II/III all at once in a flurry of wind and water.

You could throw out Deluge on multiple targets for prep and activate Typhoon on them all at once with an Aero III cast, or you can focus one target and do Deluge > Aero II over and over, replacing stone maybe as our bread and butter?

New Stone
After forever and a day of turret casting stone, our new stone ability is the clipping DPS skill we've been looking for. Typhoon becomes our new bread and butter.

Trait: SOtL III
Time to rework Lillies. Instead of lilies being a gauge that you build up, use, build up, use, etc. Lets keep it passive... hear me out. Each Lilly gives WHM a passive AoE Regen (think Lucio). Stand near me and you get a VERY low, auto applied, passive regen. Not enough to negate consistent damage, but say a DPS goofed and took a hit, then didn't get hit for the next 30 seconds? Should be great for that. SOtL 1 & 2 are reworked into "You can have 1 Lilly, you can build 2 lilies, etc". Passive regen potency increases with each lily.

Basically you're such a badass as a lvl 80 White Mage that you're able to charge the Aether in the air around you into a persistent state of healing energy.

As for how you generate lilies? Mh... Crit regen ticks? Perhaps synergize it with "Wall" where when party members take x amount of damage it generates a lily, similar to Brotherhood for MNK but with taking damage instead of giving it.

I was initially for reworking lilies if possible,but you bring up a good topic. At it's base, lilies is a healing bar. If they reworked it, they'll most likely try to stick with that theme, and i don't think anything good can come of that.

Interestingly enough, while lilies came out of absolutely nowhere, managing elemental aether doesn't. In ARR it was an actual issue in the quests for everyone but us. I would love a guage that sort of acts as an aether limiter. Maybe after a certain number a spells you'll reach a threshold where you have to release a powerful spell to bring things back to normal.

Anything just...no healing focused bars please.

Deluge and Typhoon would be called Flood/Tornado most likely. As for Wall, WHM already has Divine Benison, which is basically Wall, in that it offers a shield. Also, I think PLD's LB is considered to be the FFXIV equivalent of "Wall", but with a re-imagined name, similar to how DRG's Life Surge is basically Lancet, and Dark Passenger is FF4's Dark Wave.

Make Benediction heal as soon as its used. I'm tired of using it and having to wait till the animation finishes for the heal to be applied. Half the time the target dies even though I see a heal graphic effect on the target then see Benediction is now on cooldown.

Let's not beat around the bush... all 3 healers need the same thing... more damage input to the party...

I main AST but I suspect healer 4 is going to cause ASTs healing kit a lot of changes so not bothering thinking about it.

In the end, Healers and DRK are both sitting in the pointless to talk about until May's combat update. Healers and Tanks are both more hinging on encounter design than job design at this point anyways. Lilies getting changes is pretty much expected, something big happening to cross role system is expected (possibly removed even), a lot of skill pruning/merging expected, hopefully healer 4 gets a new healing niche (EQ2 Cleric Shaman Heal on being Hit /pray) and probably fighting with AST for raid buffing.

More Water based skills is great, but can we just stop trying to ask to be better DPS and ask to HAVE to be better healers already.

As much as I love WHM and want to see it buffed, I don't want the aesthetics of any of these. I don't want WHM to turn into more of a shield healer than it already is. I don't think Berserk has any place in the WHM toolkit even if it it weren't already a Warrior ability (prior to Inner Release, at least). I don't think they need water damage outside of perhaps a massively revised Fluid Aura. Typhoon alone fits the aesthetic, but since its dependency doesn't (imo), nor does its effect... Any why exchange our filler spell just to spam Water-Air-Water-Air-Water-Air (Typhoon, the new "bread and butter" of WHM offensive casts) in an equally spammy fashion? Any why, after casting an instant spell every other cast would you then need a clipping DPS skill? You'd already have RDM mobility and oGCD access. I'm just not sold on any of these whatsoever.

I know they want to keep healer damage simple, but it's really past time to kick it up a level beyond arr leveling rotations.

Would they even add even more healing to the whm kit in the next expac?
Healing skills or abilities I mean, lilies need to be buffed or replaced altogether.
It's already pretty overkill on the healing front.
More of them aren't going to help good parties when it's already more than enough to keep a party full up, and the bad healers will continue to ignore their cooldowns while complaining about medica 2 being an mp hog.

I would have to say... reduce whm threat a bit more and make thier medica II tick heal a bit stronger than ASTs as it stands ASTs sheilds outdo sch and thier HoT is on par with whm which kind of leaves whm really with nothing to bring to the table as far as being a "Pure healer"

If by 'simple' you mean braindead. What about a new trait: Earth and Wind; Aero II/III crit ticks make the next Stone spell instant cast. It'd be just a little something to make the rotation more interesting.

Would it, though? At most you could now heal or reset Regen earlier than you otherwise would have to save the GCD of free movement for later. In all other cases, it doesn't actually change the rotation. If you, say, gave A3 ticks a chance to Windwall your next A2 to deal its full damage instantly without replacing the former A2, and A2 ticks a chance to Windwall (i.e., again, to deal its full damage instant without replacing the former A3, and to be cast instantly) your next A3, then you'd have a bankable resource.

I'd rather a group utility more than more dps. The being the best healer is meaningless when everyone can heal all content. WHM need to compete in the meta, and right now they don't compare with the other 2 healers (soon to be 3).

As for lilies, I agree that just making it more effective healing is pointless. WHM doesn't need more healing power.

Secret of the Lilies I: (Lvl 52) Gain a Lilly upon successful HP restoration with Cure and Cure II
Lilly Effect: Reduce the cast time of your Stone, Cure, and Holy spells by an amount based on the number of lilies held.
1 Lilly: .5 seconds
2 Lillies: 1 second
3 Lillies: 1.5 seconds

Secret of the Lillies II: (Lvl 68) Upon successful critical HP restoration over time with your Regen and Medica II spells, gain a Lily, this effect can only occur once every 3 seconds
Additional Effect:Upon successful critical damage over time with your Aero spells, gain a lily, this effect can only occur once every 3 seconds
Additional Effect: Upon successful damage with your Stone spells, gain a stack of Lily Bud.
Lily Bud effect: Upon reaching 2 stacks, the next successful Stone spell cast will consume both stacks and generate 1 Lily.

Thoughts: Change the effect of the Lilies to a cast time reduction, which helps the whm with its biggest weaknesses in a raid setting, their mobility and limited weaving options: Kept the guarantee effect of generating Lilies upon Cure spells, but reworked the original useless SotL II trait to allow optimal white mage play to still generate lilies.

In addition, I have decided on a set of abilities that would consume the lillies, the intent being a gameplay loop of choosing to keep the lilies for the increased mobility and weaving or spending them to ease your flow of gameplay

Salvation (Level 52) Ability, 15 second recast timer, Requires at least one lily to cast, Heals the target with a potency based on the number of Lilies consumed
1 Lily: 75 potency
2 Lilies: 150 potency
3 Lilies: 300 potency
Additional effect: Increases the duration of your currently applied Regen effect based on number of lilies consumed.
1 Lily: 3 seconds
2 Lily: 7 seconds
3 Lilies: 10 seconds.

Asylum will simply be moved to a different level, not replaced.

Plenury Indulgence (Level 70) Ability, 60 second recast,
Heals self and all nearby party members with a potency of 350.
Additional Effect: Applies a Damage absorption barrier based on the number of lillies consumed on all affected allies
1 lily: 5% max HP
2 lilies : 7% max HP
3 lilies: 10% max HP
The effect of Plenury Indulgence does not stack with Galvanize or Nocturnal Field.

Notes: Can either be cast without lillies for another quick ogcd party heal, or with lilies to apply a damage absorption shield. Whm needed a way to provide group wide shielding without it taking away from the niche of other healers.

Hasted Mind: Passive, Sets the Recast timer of Presence of Mind to 120 seconds and allows it to consume Lilies to grant nearby allies Spell Speed, Recast timer reduction, and reduced auto attack delay based on the number of lilies consumed.
1 Lily: 2%
2 Lily: 5%
3 Lily: 10%
Duration: 15 sec

Tornado: (Learned level 74) 30 sec recast, Ability
Consumes all lillies to deal wind aspected damage to the target and all nearby enemies, damage dealt based on lilies consumed
1 Lily: 150 potency
2 Lilies: 250 potency
3 Lilies: 350 potency
Additional effect: Increase the duration of the targets currently applied Aero damage over time effects to their maximum duration

I also proposed more abilities but I primarily wanted to share my lily rework idea.

And finally my new ability proposals.

Fluid Aura: No longer knocks backs enemies and deals water damage with a potency of 150.


Full Bloom: (Level 72) Ability, 45 sec recast
Instantly fill the Lily Gauge.

Elemental Mastery (Level 74) Passive: Upgrades Stone IV to Quake

Learn Tornado

Additional effect: Upon successful HP restoration over time with Regen, Medica II, or Asylum, gain the Water Mastery effect.
Effect Chance: 20 %

Water Mastery: Replaces Fluid Aura with Flood.
Duration: 18 seconds
This effect has a 6 second recast.

Quake: Spell, 2.5 second cast. 2.5 second recast
Deal earth aspected damage with a potency of 280 (300?)
Additional effect: Upon generating a Lily with Stone's Secret of the Lily II's effect, deal 50 earth potency damage to the target and all nearby enemies, this effect triggers even if a lily is not added to the Healing Guage.

Flood: Ability, 15 second recast. Deal 200 potency water damage to the target.
Additional effect. Deal 20 potency water damage to all nearby enemies
Additional effect: Heal all nearby allies with a potency of 20.
This spell can only be casted while under the effect of Water Mastery.

Hasted Mind (Level 78)
Reraise: (Level 80) 180 second recast, Ability
Places the Reraise effect on the target
Reraise: Upon taking damage that would drop the target below 1 HP, the damage is reduced to 0 and the target is healed to 50% of their max HP. This consumes the Reraise effect. Certain abilities will negate this effect.
Duration: 12 seconds

True, but it's clear the devs are pretty content with WHM as is, so I honestly don't see much change, specially regarding DPS. An instant cast here and there is a little something, but better than nothing. (And I consider upgrade spells as nothing, since it's the same, but with more potency)

As a whm main I would love the changes Brandedblade posted. The best key points are Regen doing something except healing, keeping uptime on dots do something, mobility and the extend of Aeros and Regen and maybe a little group shield to do something to reduce the chance of oneshots to aoe Boss ability’s so you don’t feel useless without mister scholar dead in pugs. The mobility would even fix your dps to compete at least a bit with run and gun Astro

If I'm being honest, the thing that I think whm needs the most right now is some sort of cooldown like lightspeed or triplecast. Something to allow for whm to be more mobile than it currently is. Ast has reduced cast time and lightspeed, sch has ruin 2 and whm has nothing really. I realize Aero 2 is an instant cast, but that's a dot and not really something to be spammed and blowing swiftcast isn't always an option. This tier has really highlighted how bad whm's mobility is (though I really do think that has a lot to do with the fights themselves). I know reducing cast times (like ast) has been mentioned, but I'm not a fan personally. I like my cast times to line up with the global cooldown, just feels better to me, but that's just my opinion.

Whatever they do with lilies, they need to not be keyed off of cure/cure2. The nature of the game pushes you to NOT use those abilities if you can avoid it - which means you are rewarded (get lilies) for a bad playstyle. Gaining lilies needs to flow in line with the normal play style - as most job gauges work
