Chato igual no te perdes mucho. >.>
Focus Here SE!!!
I love story so i love doing missions, i love doing quest and everything, i can imagine how frustrating could be not be able to read as fast as english gamers and then they push you to skip CS and chit chat from quest, and miss what you must love.... im pro to it, my language isnt english either, and i had my brother in XI quit it cause he couldnt understand it, i bet he not only one , SE would expand their customer base if they expand their language options in game too.
They need to add LANG files similar to several open source projects (i.e., phpbb web forum). This way users can create their own "language pack". Saves SE from doing the work, and the supported languages would skyrocket.
Well, IMO it's nice you guys posting in spanish here (since i speak portuguese i understand most of it) but having a topic with spam of spanish posts won't help much... ^^:
If you want to write in spanish, do like those who put it in EN and spanish because it's very possible that some of the community reps might not understand the posts (they actually don't "need" to understand right now since it's an english forum), not really helping much with the topic proposal...after all they can't help if they can't understand you.
But yep, it's what Brigandier said above...i don't want user-made language packs because it need to be something PS3 users can use too, but allowing the community to help translating to non-official languages would speed-up the cration of these features and, this way, all SE would need is someone too coordenate what to translate.
Well i really agree with this post and i would really like to have Spanish language added to the translation. Since well in my server i know of at least 1 "latino" linkshell and 1 linkshell from europe.
Myself being from Mexico :)
vax este hilo no es para eso
It is very odd that they let this out. I hope this does change so that more people can enjoy this game ^^

I am not a native Spanish speaker, but I would be a huge proponent of Spanish language intergration. I don't know about the world domination comments, (>.>; but there definitely should be auto-translate options, and gameplay options.
Conocimiento, Comunidad, Y Apoyar.
Spanish/Latino community is in this game a fact, we are everywhere and in every server, and this is not new at all for Square-Enix, who should mind already to know that most of us are not only loyal to this game, but we were also loyal to this company since back in Final Fantasy XI times...
We never got heard, helped or replied, and this is not only an In-game matter, because if we have any kind of problem and we need to contact SE, we are also facing the problem of how to explain ourselves properly in order to be understood.
Spanish-speaking players have always tried to catch SE attention.. we got signatures for over 2000 players that were interested on having the chance to play this game in spanish back before it was released, and still it was unheard.
For most of the companies, included SE, the Spanish/Latino community its not under their interest for who knows what reason, but hey, we are guilty for that also, as I mentioned before, we are very loyal, but we should stop and think about if it worth our money to be "used" like this by the companies.
Do we pay exactly the same for a monthly service? no, because we have no service, we have no support and they dont care. a service should be in the language that the costumer speaks , so the game should be translated too (they have a team who translates SE games to Spanish in London so...)
I would be happy just if SE replies to us and tells us why it is not translated. but i wont expect too much from them.
Good to see more Spanish speaking people are joining the game!
Saludos desde Argentina!!!
Number of native speakers of the top languages
1. Mandarin Chinese (1.1 billion)
2. English (330 million)
3. Spanish (300 million)
4. Hindi/Urdu (250 million)
5. Portuguese (220 million)
6. Arabic (200 million)
7. Bengali (185 million)
8. Russian (160 million)
9. Persian (149 million)
10. Punjabi (130 million)
11. Japanese (125 million)
12. German (90 million)
13. Javanese (80 million)
14. French (75 million)
Unfortunately Portuguese / Spanish are two languages always set asaid even though they have more speakers that French and German together.
One exception is Blizzard who has always had the WOW version in Spanish and most recently in Portuguese.
Portuguese player.
This is in part still the culture of "only north hemisphere counts". The most of spanish/portuguese speaking nations are at latin america and africa, still considered by northern cultures as "not economically active markets" if compared to north america, EU and Asia. This culture is slowing going down, but i'd expect at least another 5 years before the official language choices reflecting their real market.
I do support the idea of having as many languages as possible ingame since a RPG can only be fully experienced if the player fully understand the texts. It would be great for SE to add more languages to their games because not only it would have even better acceptance for those who don't speak well one of the availble languages but also would be a great way to get closer to the playerbase.
After all, if the players are offering to help with this, why not accepting the help?
Please SE, listen to us, we are a huge community right now, but it could be giant if you transalte the game!
There is a lot of people who love final fantasy series and would play this game, but the language is a problem for most of them. And, even knowing the language, we lost many details of the story... and I think that those details are what makes a final fantasy, so we are loosing a big portion of the game experince :(
SE please read our request, I soi member of Spanish blood in Besaid server. both Spanish and Italian should present in their translation time we are willing to pay a little more for the TRANSLATION. SE looks at the record sales of mmo Wow Spain because of its TRANSLATION. final fantasy all who came to Spain came translated into Spanish, because this is not final fantasy? Please read our letter
English:
I think that they are not required to translate the game, they could translate all the game now that they are starting a new project (2.0). I don't understand why they don't translate this game when they translate the rest of Final Fantasy when they reach to europe.
My english isn't really good so I apologize.
Being a Spanish speaker myself, I can say that I am for the option of translating the game to Spanish, but not stop there. However, I don't think this is one of Square's concerns at the moment. Perhaps for the release of 2.0 we can see a Spanish/Dutch/Russian/Korean/etc translation, I just don't see it being at the top of Square's priority list.
Plus it'll encourage Russians/Spanish speakers to use auto-translate, because it's kind of annoying not being able to speak with them at all.
=== English===
Yoshi... I will love you more if you make our wish come true ^.^b, that way we will understand more this marvelous history that our world Eorzea have, and if you do so i will buy a ticket to Japan and give you a lot of kisses!! =3
Isn't it because most English speaking entertainment companies don't really do business in Spanish speaking countries except Spain? I'm under the impression that the situation in Mexico/Central/South America is a lot like China where piracy is the de facto method of media consumption.
Indeed it was...but this is the very same culture i said at my last post...and will take time before this goes down. To most companies latin america and africa are just "discardable markets" with piracy excuses, as if only here we had piracy and as if online games didn't require a registration code, just like FFXIV does, that grants every single player an original account/game.
Also, this is correct regarding spoken content...at start subtitles do would be good enough.
maybe nobody... expected...
im so sorry i couldn't resist... >.<
but on the topic, i think it would be a good thing to implement seeing the numbers, i just hope it works out better than the german one for your sake... it may be just me but i cant play that at all without cringing. what has to be considered thou is that they plan to voice all major cutscenes in 4 languages already, i dunno if they are willing to add a fifth voice language considering the cost and work (they could scrap german voices for spanish for as much as i care... they are horrible no matter what media *shudder*)
I don't know abaut voice translation (not worth it till 2.0) but I support the idea of translating at least part of the text and implementing the auto-translation feature in other languages. It's always the same, no matter how awesome a game might be friends don't wanna pay for it if they have other options in spanish, i hope they will consider doing something because i don't know what numbers they get but most game companies don't consider the effort and cost worth it. Nevertheless i totally support any initiative regarding this.
Hope we get a response soon
This game is in dire need of a Swedish translation. The Spanish will have to wait. :D
