Have they mentioned MCH at all?
They have though in the translation thread they forgot to add it
MCH will have their base damage increased
It'll be an overall potency increase(edited)
Heat Gauge will be made easier to maintain
Rook and Bishop OVERLOAD will have increase of potency of 400 to 800
Hot Shot will change from 5% to 8%.
Heat will be slower to gain
I'll hold my main judgements about the SCH changes until the patch launches, but here is my initial rundown.
・The introduction of “Miasma II” as a job specific skill. - If its the same Miasma II as before just keep it, giving it back would be an insult
・Changed the cooldown of Emergency Tactics to 20 seconds. - Great, now I can use my "HIGH MP SPELLS" faster (sarcastic much)
・Indomitability [stay tuned] - Of all the skills to change you choose one that works?
・Strengthening Excogitation. - Will have to wait and see, but the skill needs a flat out change not a "potency increase" which i guarantee it is
・Changed the range of Fey Union to 15 malms. - OMG will you not learn, 20! it needs to be 20 or more, like embrace, otherwise if the tank moves the skill is useless
・ Aetherpact has been changed to increase Faerie Gauge even when Aetherflow actions does not inflict an effect on the target. - This seems pointless, whats this purpose, the only skill it would effect is Bane, which is rarely used now
・Introduction of a trait reducing the cooldown of Aetherflow. If this is the current trait reworked, then this is a good change, 30s would be nice, but 40s is okay too, just don't make it 50s, again insult.
Things not addressed that make me question what SE thinks about this job.
・Adloquium/Succor - The MP costs and the heals themselves aren't changing? Either the costs need to be lower or the heals/shields raised, otherwise are we even a mitigation healer then?
・Dissipation - WHY!!!! Why do you not address one of the biggest flops this job has. Its a skill that fights almost every other skill in our kit... FIX IT
・Chain Strategem - A CD reduction or a potency increase that's all we asked for
・Sacred Soil - Compared to the other healers bubbles it needs a boost
・Bane - We aren't even asking it be brought back to its full strength, just put it in line with the AoE of the other healers
・Silent Dusk - Fairy potency aside, it still needs that increase since its basically Succor now, This is the one fairy skill that is useless and needs a change.
・SHIELDS - For the love of Hydaelyn, PLEASE! We are supposed to be the mitigation healer with shields being our thing, but we have the weakest shields now, we've also been asking for more shield options for 4 years now, please, please fix this.
・(Bonus Item)Damage/Heal Skill - Why are we the only healer without a simultaneous damage/heal skill? I mean it made sense before when we had good sustainable DPS, but now it doesn't make sense.
I guess i didn't really withhold complete judgement, but I am unable to view the live letter so i'm not sure what else might of been mentioned. here's hoping SCH can recover.
I like Q21.
yay healer adjustments.
The way RDM is right now, will make things easier for parties... so people's response? "NERF THEM CUZ I DUN HAVE IT!"
Hey, SCH is still beating WHM in its general shielding capabilities :D
To add to your point about Dissipation, if they're lowering the AF CD it's effectively making Dissipation even less valuable than it already is. It definitely needs a bit of a retool at some point; I don't even remember when I last used it outside of pre-SB PVP.
I disagree with some of the other suggestions, but am very interested in seeing the adjustments with all of the potency shuffling that's likely to hit all three healers. I miss using my SCH and want all three healers to be equivalently worthwhile soon.
Love how the question about MCH is translated as saying "MCH itself is enjoyable".
Hahaha, no.
'・Removed the Heat Gauge reduction effect from Quick Reload.'
..................SE please.
they will only touch holy spirit that is a good burst dps, nothing much. plus i will be blunt, but warrior was looking down on pld for ages like they was the best of the best. i don't remember any warrior asking for paladin to be boosted... and now that it did happend warrior are screaming that it's not natural that they can't be the best at the dps...when they are *sighs*. and you did come crying soo hard that was not easy to resist to gloats over the reaction of the war, when drk was more in trouble than you and was less vocal.
but a point, your substain will still be less good than before and they have said they will rebalance your potency, but don't expect a massive boost that will make you as you was in HW, since SB tank are not means to be counted in the dps check.
they only reduce the potency of gut slash not a massive nerf will be interesting to wait the patch note before scream to the nerf if not rebalance.Quote:
Yes. Ninja has the best damage utility, the only aoe with no diminishing returns and pulled numbers rivaling Monk and Red Mage. Basically, the job had absolutely no drawbacks whatsoever.
all i did noted that no nerf for the sam and rdm (exept vercure) that will maybe make some people stop with this and make them focus on them jobs.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!Quote:
Yoshida: However, we’re planning to touch on glamour in the future, and we’re planning functions such as accessing glamour history.
But nothing about how Blizzard IV is a DPS loss in single target. Feels bad.Quote:
Ninja
- Potency for Gust Slash will be reduced. The reason for this is because the players found a stronger skill rotation than those the dev. team was using while making adjustments.
Orders your pet away and allows you to use all actions freely without Aetherflow cost. Also increases healing magic potency by 20%.
Duration: 10s
Your pet will return automatically after 20s. Summon or Summon II cannot be executed until pet returns.
Maybe?
I want to know what this means! "Plenary Indulgence will see some major adjustments."
Please, I need to knoooow!
As a main SMN I'm actually ok with this.but disappointed with no buff for SMNQuote:
Q10. Demi-Bahamut is quite large. Do you have any plans to make adjustment to his size or transparency?
A10. We’ll make it so that you can change the size of Demi-Bahamut using a text command. I’m sure there will be players who would like the size to remain as is, so we’re making it so that players can adjust the scale on their own. However, we won’t be able to make it by Patch 4.05
Well I'm content with what we know. Fending accessories getting strength, the stupid gauge cost on stance change is gone, and MCH is getting some (much needed) love. Nothing else is particularly of interest to me.
I'll admit dissipation was a bit niche at 60 but from 61 to 70 is absolutely amazing. It's saved so many runs and mega pulls.
Please add my voice to the list of SMNs wanting Sustain back. Or allow chocobo companions to heal pets. Anymore, when I solo, I just tank myself and let my chocobo heal me. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. But I would REALLY REALLY love to have Sustain back please, SE.
Love how everything is "too difficult to implement" or "would cost a lot". At least we're not paying a monthly sub for this game.
ye this what we get in a f2........ wait a moment it not a f2p but p2p.
really how bad the team or the game engine/net code need to be that any thing most mmos now day have is to hard to implement.
how much money the #2 mmo on the market makes that any thing would cost a lot (lot more that the game makes?).
WAR is going to be a lot more fun to play with no more gauge loss. I could see stance dancing to maximize Upheaval damage being a thing now.
I'm also glad they recognized MCH's shortcomings, because I enjoyed using it in 3.x.
I'm glad about MCH changes, as well as DRK and WAR. Not too happy about PLD, but he is indeed the best tank atm, hands down.
I've yet to see a developer say making an MMO was easy, and I've lost count of the number of times a certain bigger developer has used a similar set of excuses for either why they haven't made certain changes or haven't implemented something yet (not naming any names, but "updated character models" took several years to see them added).
Also, come on...we get one of the most consistent patch schedules in the business right now, with a solid amount of content, plus iterations of stuff moving toward more diverse offerings. It's not like we go 14 months between a final patch and an expansion and then get told some thing or another was too difficult to do or they couldn't get to it in time, or that doing this other thing that was cut would have "cost a raid tier." Wonder where I've seen that happen, though...
I'm curious as to which particular features you feel FFXIV doesn't have that exists in the majority of other MMOs...notably features that exist in very similar formats, rather than being similar as a concept (i.e. glamour log) but differing significantly from game to game.
About time they acknowledge the lack of inventory space. This is a subscription game and it is not ok that a significant portion of the player base have to rely on a paid extra service to play properly. Inventory is not just a cosmetic feature, it's a basic function of the game that's needed to play effectively.Quote:
Q25. The inventory and Armour Chest expansion has helped a lot, but would it be possible to increase retainer’s inventory as well?
A25. The number of items available has increased in Patch 4.0. We’re making sure that important data isn’t lost, and also so that it can’t be exploited, so it’s difficult to just simply add more slots. Currently, the disparity between those who use a lot of retainers, and those who don’t, is quite large, and we’re a bit worried about this. We would like to observe the amount of retainers being used post the launch of 4.0 before we make future adjustments.
If they gave us a glamour log or an Armoire storage expansion, the inventory issues that prompt people to rent more retainers would be greatly diminished. The "glamour history" feature will be nothing short of pointless if it works like teleport history or the contacts list.
I am happy that two of my questions got addressed in the letter.
1) We will be able to sort our Linkshells, soon[TM]. Getting cross class linkshells will be a big improvement to the community of this game, so I understand that is a bigger priority and I support that.
2) Being able to get notifications from events and stuff from The Lodestone in-game. Just RIP my dreams, they just told "the technology isn't there yet" again. As long as we don't get interactivity with The Lodestone in-game, all those features the site has will not be used. Nobody uses blogs, events, FC posts or recruitments because you can't access them in-game. It hurts me that some useful tools that can help the community aren't just being used.
Something so simple as text alerts in the chat window about an upcoming event, or an new FC post would be enough to make it work.
Were there seriously no changes done to Summoner? Still no point in using Physick, no mention about accidental use of Aetherflow causing your entire rotation to get screwed, Bane still sucking and only a small mention on Sustain? Ugh, makes it hard to want to use SMN as my main still.
Those adjustments are nuts. Why do people care so much about healing spells on a Damage Dealer so much? Did people bring SMNs to parties just for the raise? They brought them for damage, same as BLM.
They said they don't have plans to nerf Rdm or Sam anyways. Sans maybe Vercure but that is yet to see. Either way I think it's unecessary, RDM doesn't have an infinite mp pool that lets them raise forever, curing for an extended amount if time brings their dps down, which becomes detrimental at a certain point when you need to kill the mob faster since the party is in dire trouble.
It sucks that our retainers dont get the same bag space as we players.
Glamour definitely counts. What we have now is a crippled shadow of a costume system, burdened by convoluted Prism use, limited customizability, and extreme inventory use. It hardly deserves to be called a costume system.
Things SE seems to have intense trouble with that other MMOs offer with apparent ease:
1. Multi-channel dye system
2. Plentiful bank space that is NOT rented
3. Instanced housing so that everyone has a home
4. Costume system with a wardrobe that saves appearances, and multiple saved outfits you can swap between whenever
Basically everything that they respond to with the "but our servers can't handle it" excuse.
I want to know more about this.Quote:
Yoshida: However, we’re planning to touch on glamour in the future, and we’re planning functions such as accessing glamour history.
I think the reason for this is that in a best-case scenario SMNs are actually in a good place. The problem is that they're probably the absolute hardest job to do well on now (barring MCHs who simply cannot compete no matter how well they play now) and are very easily screwed over by things they can't control (such as a fizzled Aetherflow spender or a death wiping out stacks). What SMN largely needs is QoL fixes rather than full on balance adjustments which might be why they didn't touch on things as much.
The only real 'balance' related adjustments I think SMNs need is easing up on the Bane nerf a little and giving us back Sustain. Everything else is just QoL stuff related to stopping Aetherflow stacks being wasted or lost on death.
