Here's a similar rotation, but it requires HQ food and only one Control +3 materia (as well as max CP at 472 base), or a HQ Control Tea instead of the control meld if you prefer.
Food: HQ Seafood Stew (CP +50, Control +31)
Tea (optional): HQ Commanding Craftsman's Tea (Control +25)
Gear and melds. HQ vanilla 4.01 gear. Max out CP (however you'd like). Meld a Control +3 materia (or more) wherever you'd like.
Here's the macro:

EDIT: Edited the macro commands only (not the image of the rotation ) to reflect Ermad's enhancement found in the post below, by transferring Piece by Piece to come after the the first set of Prudent Touches, instead of before them. Gear and melds have also been updated too.
Nice adjustment, you can move the first PbP to after the first 4 Prudents to give a bit more quality. After you do that you can get full quality, with just White HQ gear + full CP melds + Seafood Stew, no other melds required.
What about something like this ? Using the same stat, I find this rotation more straightforward. The odds that you aren't getting a good condition are abyssmal, and you could just meld a couple of cheap control materias to reach 100% anyway.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...persimmon2.png
I've been trying to make a macro that does 1star as cheap as possible in CP but still accomplish as close as possible to 100% with NQ mats, since I feel a lot of these ones in here are very expensive in CP, so far this is what I came up with:
http://i.imgur.com/seIXwXX.png
It uses a total of 495 CP
Not a bad rotation, but it doesn't achieve 100% HQ. Yes, you get close, and you may likely hit a Good condition at least once, but what if you don't and the craft doesn't 100% HQ and actually makes a NQ? I know, not really the end of the world, but with macro crafting, we need to remove as much, if not all, RNG as possible. It also appears to rely on at least +26 Control melded, since HQ Seafood Stew will only give you +31, in order to reach your displayed Control of 1171. And it also looks like Stroke of Genius or something was activated in there as well?
Not a bad rotation, but it looks like you're sacrificing CP melds in favor of Control melds in order to successfully complete your rotation. Most crafters are going to want as much base CP as possible so that they can utilize more actions for long rotations/macros and experimenting with new ones. In general, most crafters will make sure they meld max CP, then meld up Craftsmanship where it needs to be for current recipes, then finally meld in as much Control as possible, in order of prioritization (not necessarily actual meld order). I'm not saying your rotation is bad, if it works for you, it works for you. What I'm saying is that you'll probably see most end-game crafters running around with max CP melded before prioritizing Control melds, so that's what my rotation/macro was designed around. Once we all figure out what is exactly needed for stats in terms of new recipes, we'll probably be all overmelded out anyway or for those already overmlded for all stats, your rotation is very viable. However, right now there's no real rush to overmeld much of anything other than CP, because the other additional stats are just not needed at this point.
Thanks, and I forgot to say cheers to you and Ermad for your rotations you made, I linked them to my FC :)
At this point you are right that going for max CP melds in the gear seems to be a nice and cheap way, my rotation was just a way to do it differently if people don't wanna think about having to re-meld later on and maybe want something less CP heavy and more focus on control.
Hey cgbspender! :) You have a rotation that requires the least craftsmanship ever! 1211 is the lowest I have ever seen! Yet, your rotation completes the item in 5 steps, thus buying an extra touch, reaching IQ11. Although it reaches IQ11, it provides a Blessing under Ingen2 but without Innov. So the final quality gain from the Byregot becomes somewhat similar to IQ10 from other rotations listed on this thread. The rotation spent 92 CP on progress (MuMe, PBPx2, Ingen2, Ob+FocS x2), which is a big investment, the extra Prud Touch also requires that extra 21 CP, thus the final CP requirement is very high.
Very good job of making good use of your high CP to compensate for the lack of craftsmanship. With a rotation like this, I think you should either push your control even higher just to make it 100% HQ, or just fall back on the control and just use a little bit of HQ mat. From previous calculations, you can have LESS THAN 1136 control, and still reach 100% HQ if you use 1 HQ mat. I think you have used HQ Seafood Stew here, so your base control is probably 1171 - 31 = 1140. It's a very reasonable rotation to go with your choice of food and your CP-heavy melds. Overall, very nice job! One minor touch-up perhaps would be to use a SH instead of SH II before the PBPs.
I made up a little graph using the data I collected...
http://i68.tinypic.com/5nodac.png
This graph shows a linear relationship between the craftsmanship vs progress from Focused Syn for 1 star items. Keep in mind that naked Foc Syn gives exactly the same progress as a CS III under Ingen2. Thus, it's very easy to calculate what progress your rotation give per synthesis:
Your MuMe, PBPx2 should give: 1039, 696, 467 progress.
You have 1211 craftsmanship... plugging it into the equation yields 388 progress for a naked Focused Syn. This means CS III under Ingen2 will also give 388. This means a Foc Syn under Ingen2 will give (388/150) x 200 = 517.
Thus, the two Focused Syn under Ingen2 should give 517 x2.
Altogether, you will have 3236 progress pushed out. So the calculator is "pretty accurate, but may not be 100% accurate".
With this calculation, the minimum progress required from each of your Foc Syn under Ingen2 = 474. So theoretically, you can have A LOT less craftsmanship than 1211, and your rotation will still work beautifully. Back-calculating it using the formula above, you can have 1119 craftsmanship, and still be fine (but of course, that's probably even lower than the 1 star requirement).
This is actually the same rotation as Ermad's rotation modified by Bdyer, which I posted on page 4 of this thread... with the exception that you did a clever little move of the Manip II, which is quite neat. As for the 495 CP requirement, you can actually go down to 490, because you can use 3x CS II + 1x CS III for the completion. I have already tested that you can have as few as 1293 craftsmanship, and still be able to complete the item, as stated on page 4.
Hey Caimie ! This is actually a rotation that I made "on the fly", using the stats mentionned on the previous page (not my own), because I've never been a fan of using CZ in the middle of a "SH+touches" phase, nor of the placement of the triple "Ingeniosity". Overall, I tend to prefer rotations that go "straight to the point". You are totally right about that CP I can save by using SH, I didn't pay attention ;-)
I changed my rotation based on Evian's. It uses max CP and HQ seafood stew - but no extra melds or tea is needed. It also manages to increase progress and quality compared with the original rotation.

Hi all! Loving this thread, I've really missed designing crafting rotations. Thank for SO MUCH for updating the simulator!
Building on various ideas in this thread, I've come up with this one. Non-specialist, just uses HQ gear with max CP melds and HQ Seafood Stew. Easily hits both progress and durability. (NB: I haven't actually tested it in game yet.)

This is actually an impressive rotation. With a small modification to the rotation, I have these results using the simulator:
http://i.imgur.com/2i6iW4g.jpg
Greatly improves quality with a small reduction to progress.
The only thing I don't like is using the CS II's in the middle - it will complete lower end recipes before the end - for example Sea Food Stew at 60* will complete on the second CS II. The previous rotation I posted has the advantage of working for these recipes with the same rotation - so for that reason I will most likely stick with it.
However, it is great for achieving max quality on the higher end recipes.
I will try it out for real this evening - I posted the macros in the next post

Nice idea, I like the switch to Ing2. Normally I agree about putting progress steps in the middle, but here it\\'s the key to making the CP work out. On these stats I think it still works ok for recipes 66+. Can do a simpler macro for easier crafts :)
Edit: The rotation in fact does not require the extra Control, only the 50 CP. You can buy NQ Tempura and use NQ Tea to meet this at low cost.
One final improvement to Evian's rotation, which further increases quality, but not as high as the improved NJA's rotation. It does however put all the progress at the end, which I personally prefer:
http://i.imgur.com/Hjg8X3q.jpg
Following on from the above, on the basis of the simulator you can drop the Ing2 back to Ing1 if you meld just 7 points of control. Use can then run this rotation with HQ 70, max meld CP and purchased NQ Tempura.

If you wanted you could adapt the other rotation, replace CSIII with a CSII at the end, use purchased NQ Tempura and have at least 1 control melded:
http://i.imgur.com/4EMRl7F.jpg
but you are right - it is personal choice at the end of the day.
Lol, yep. Looks like both our versions reduce down to fairly similar outcomes. I guess it ultimately depends on whether you want 'overkill' on quality (using HQ food) to guard against a Poor Condition. Will be interesting to see the extent to which the rotations can be adapted to 2-star stuff next week.
Edit: BTW, you only need SH1 at the end of yours, so can save 3 CP.
Note that in macros while you cannot use Byregot's Brow to dodge poor status... you can still use ToT one step before Byregot's (if your last SH only contains 4 actions). This is something the macros I am building will use.
only becuase i am a bit bored here is a rotation with minimum stats but specialists.
https://i.gyazo.com/9e6c081967bf91af...9c4aa8d5b6.png
you can get like 1k more HQ when you use IN2 at the end but as i say want the min. stats and cp use.
regards hobbit
Brow instead ?
The reason I actually suggested brow is because your BB is unprotected
So you can't use Byregot's Brow any more to dodge poor status, because as my friends pointed out Brow no longer requires good/excellent status. But "Tricks of the Trade" does require good/excellent. So what you can do is attempt to ToT during a macro one step before you use Byregot's. Effectively erasing any Poor status which could occur during your macroed Byregot's.
Here is the Thread Owner's macro with ToT to dodge poor status:
/ac "Muscle Memory" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Comfort Zone" <me> <wait.2>

/ac "Careful Synthesis III" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis III" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis III" <me> <wait.3>
/echo Macro #2 complete <se.5>
But if tricks actually hit on a good you'll loose great strides at byregots.
You could do 2 separate macros depending on the situation after Innovation.
Ahh btw why everyone is so fixed to prudent touch? Not even 10 of them to reach 11 stacks? yeah because it eats CP like a Lamborghini LM 002.
I'll stick with my old stuff for the new stuff, much less CP, melding more control. Muscle, PbP, Rapid Synthesis II, quality up and 1x Careful III at the end - done
4 hasty-fails allowed (90% feels much better than before)
If you're lazy just do 5x patient touch at 80% or do a precise one if its good condition.
