because a guy would actually have to design these items. as a legacy player if someone were to design new items, they should be obtainable via in-game means for all current subscribers.

So how much money would that equate to?
Because WoW and the majority of MMOs never went through what XIV had. That's honestly why I can see that you don't understand or care. It's not about having something cool at all for me. I literally consider it a complement/reward from SE for sticking with and helping them as I did spend the time to submit bugs since 1.0 Alpha all the way to ARR and completed the content involved.
Part of the reason I can see why they did the Legacy Chocobo was due to the delayed release of Chocobos in the game. 1.0 players having to spend hours getting everywhere and when the zones were large and copy/paste.
It does have an impact on many Legacy players as SE stated several times not only their appreciation, but also it is truly exclusive to those players. Unlike, SE Shop and other promo materials.
Having it on a dedicated Chinese version doesn't bother me as it's a completely different market and restrictions.
So what...?They didn't have 1.0!There's nothing wrong with that
Thats what Veteran rewards were but they are going away because people are too concerned the new players won't see those items for years (cause we didn't wait years ourselves?) and apparently its not fair to hold items on such a long reward system! People whined and cried and complained the little hearts out and now a new system is coming that rewards anyone and anything for playing, even if its not longterm.
It's funny because a lot of people didn't play 1.0 because of legacy players and the scathing reviews about how bad the game was. I know I was about ready to hop on board until I started reading up. The legacy rewards were a pretty good hook to move what subscriber base they had into the launch of ARR. Now that they have steady subscription base going, marketing is going to be looking at everything they can to get money out of their current customers.
Guys, no matter the physical goodies anyone gets, none of them will ever get their names in a videogame credits like we did. Look at it that way and maybe you won't feel so hurt/betrayed/insert more words for me.
Ask the people who pay millions to have one of a kind paintings. Why do you think there is an unopened black label FF7 on ebay for two thousand dollars right now? Because there aren't all that many factory sealed copies left. You act like it isn't a common desire, when it has been a driving factor in almost all forms of collecting since the hobby has existed.
The legacy goobbue with the carpet is on the Chinese mog shop also.

I generally try to understand why people are upset about things... but seriously, who cares? This is basically the same thing as if they sold the legacy chocobo in WoW. Like, it's a different set of servers, a different set of people, a different cash shop, it's essentially a different game. Why in the world would anyone possibly care about what they get in China?
You know, it's funny how upset NA gets over the fact that China gets to have some NA/EU/JP exclusives while we are CURRENTLY in a promotion to get a bunch of Chinese exclusive stuff that we begged for. Not only that, but we also begged for(and got) multiple Chinese exclusive AND Korean content. But when China gets something that's "ours" oh no! Why do they even have our stuff!?
I wonder how the Chinese and Koreans feel every time we get to have their very limited exclusive content. It's okay for us to have everything nice they get but they better not have our stuff.
The hypocrisy here is unreal.
So I took another quick look and it seems like almost everyone is saying no one cares if they they get the legacy items in their version, only it would be upsetting if legacy items were sold in our regions. That completely invalidates your post considering no one seems to care if they get "our stuff" we just don't want "our stuff" sold to us.
So yea, while some people might actually care, i'm pretty sure that's not what the conversation is anymore.
Good for China. I hope those who invest into the chocobo and buy it can thoroughly enjoy it.
You did if you played it...Hermes shoes I think it was lol. But no, Yoshida has clearly stated that without subbing in 1.0 days (When they put the sub back on) they had to do it or else they would not have the funds to continue. Also after 2.0 launch if you watch one of the videos with Yoshida..he says how he did not expect the game to continue if it was not for the 1.0 players and how shocked he was. SE was almost bankrupt and in a hole. So...you know, you could read a bit more into it before posting something snarky. <3
I don't need to read into anything. SE was still making money off of other sources. To say that it was only legacy players that kept them out of financial ruin, and produced FFXIV, is a stretch.
And as for Hermes shoes? I don't care. My point, in all of its snarky glory, was to say that I don't need an item to keep me invested in the game. The game itself is a reward. One I'm happy to be a part of, despite only being able to start playing it from PS4 release.
Expect everything to slowly appear in the Cash Shop. It was something guaranteed to happen the second people started screaming "take my money, I don't care about the cost" & "throws money at the screen". You'd have to be an absolute idiot to not, as a business person, capitalise on that.
FFXIV will eventually have all the "extras" of a F2P game but remain a subscription model. They've said jump potions, skip potions & high level 'starter gear' will be sold relatively soon. The introduction of the "one time only, never to be available elsewhere" Moogle Outfit should definitely be seen as the start of "unique" items losing their status.
That is what Yoshida said. I trust his word with that. He clearly said the game would have shut down if they did not start up subs...I was there for it, they were not going to remake it and were struggling, they were going to scrap it totally. He posted about it in detail on the forums back then. So you really do need to read in it..or, you can keep thinking whatever. >.> Anyway, I've been involved and following this game since 2010 Aug for the alpha...but its okay, I see this a lot on here (People thinking they know exactly this and that about 1.0 days!) :x
Chinese server is for China ONLY.
And there is no any Legacy or 1.0 stage in China, so there is no Chinese legacy players AT ALL.
Therefore international server's legacy items basically just additional item for Chinese server.
Put them on sale is better than nobody can actually have them.
China didn't have a 1.0 so there was no way for them to get it.
Last I heard (10 months plus) China was on Patch 3.2 and Korea is around 3.0. They don't have anywhere as much content as we do.
If anything they need their own exclusives to stay alive. Them receiving the Legacy Chocobo is fine by me as long as only they can buy it.
what's special about this legacy choco? In the pic it looked just like any other choco I've seen.
