Nope, go check all my replies on this latest promo topic. I mention several times we have no equivalent and prob wont (unless we make topics like this one). If we had a cloud mount, I would not complain, just like I did not complain about the dorman magpie (just a reskin of the bluebird minion). Go look in my post history and see how many times I complained about the Chinese behemoth. Which could mount can NA players ride again? The nimbus mount has it's own ride animation unique from any mount we have access too. The short staff weapon for drg is extreme unique! These items/mounts have absolutely no equivalent in the NA/EU/AU versions of the game. Yeah, some of us are upset about that. We are tired of other regions getting exclusive promo after exclusive promo.

The work for these items is already done, SE only has more to gain by creating variants of these items or just doing away with region locks. I have no idea why you are opposed to making people happy for so little effort. I am sure the dorman magpie and panda cub netted some cash for SE, why stop there? If there is some contract prevent us from having the same exact item, why not change the name and give us a variant just like they did with the dreadwyrm statue? Any excess revenue goes back to SE, so this is literally a win win situation for all parties involved. Being opposed to such a scenario seems more like you have a chip on your shoulder rather than actually trying to discuss what could help sooth some of the outrage over regional exclusivity.

Well in comparison to this it is a more important issue. Now I don't care for getting my own house at all and if you actually read my posts you are commenting on you would've got that bit (so you clearly didn't).

Now if someone calls me a hypocrite (and keeps bring up the comparison) for stating that then I am allowed to ask for clarification.

Also i think you will find most of my posts have consisted of trying to explain the meaning of "exclusive" to people who refuse to believe it means what it does.

Apartments are coming and housing access will be greatly increased through such a feature. Housing fixes are in the dev pipeline. Now lets talk about why there is region locked items despite the fact we have provided endless feedback to the fact we hate them.

Well, to this date, I don't think NA/EU has had a single exclusive. So, over the course of three years, we still see other regions getting exclusives without a single one for us. I think three years is enough time to "hope" SE does the right thing. You can just sit and wait a few more years, but I am actually going to voice my dissatisfaction, like the dev team encourages us to do on these very forums, and hope things change.

Yup, I pay money to play this game and you can bet on it that I feel entitled to have access to all game features, items, and content based off of that sub fee. Sorry if you think less of your own money, but I work hard for mine and I don't want to feel like a 2nd rate customer.

What does Chinese censorship have to do with what is available to the JP/NA/EU/AU regions? Give the cloud a shade of grey, rename it, put it in the SE store or gold sauce and problem solved. Also, the Chinese region gets almost everything we have, they just modify the game to include most of the rewards in a different way, such as daily quests that give veteran rewards.

How about I stay in the NA and SE gives us at least one NA exclusive event/promo to even out the score board on exclusive events/promos? The NA/EU regions have had ZERO exclusive events.

NA/EU have had ZERO exclusives, absolutely none. We could not even redeem moogle earring codes, if I am not mistaken. The NA/EU regions will never get exclusive events, we are not important enough. SE knows that we support that cash shop and that's the only promo the company need to squeeze more money out of us.

It is because we dont get our own exclusive stuff that most of the people that are upset, are upset
Sure someone could say: "Yeah but China doesn't get some stuff because it is censored" but censorship isnt the point here. The reason we arent getting this items isnt because our government is censoring us or anything. We should at least get some stuff for our own that isnt just part of the game that China decided to remove from their version because of their government

The JP dev team made the items, at last that's what the concept art would tell me. They've shown off concept art for the region locked items at the live letters. That's my understanding at least.

I'm no expert in kanji... but I'd say that the characters on the second look a lot more Chinese than Japanese (complete lack of any hiragana/katakana, for example). I'd say the same for the first picture, too, especially based on the logo not looking anything like the JP ARR/HW logo. That logo is entirely with kanji (or whatever they're called in Chinese ^^; ), whereas the Japanese logo uses katakana to spell "Final Fantasy" (and also uses the English text, afaik). Link to JP logo example.

Unfortunately we don't know the details of either agreements. However, when asked about the exlusive items YoshiP did ask the community to provide feedback, and, as a result of some of that feedback, we did get the Panda and Magpie minions in the Mogshop. That, to myself at least, shows there must be some kind of wiggle room.

Just because the headers are chinese does not mean the artwork or items were made by a chinese team. There is no developement team outside of the JP one and all art and modeling for items are done by the in-house developers.

Compare these pieces:

Male Chinese outfit You can see the sketchy style of the concept art, and next to it is the refined character art of a hyur wearing the item.
ARR WVR concept art Here you can see the same sketchy concept style in the 2.0 concept art. Ah, but where is the refined character art you say?
Au Ra Refined Concept Art We didn't really start to see the art team give us more refined art along with concept art until around heavensward. Here's the refined concept art of the Au Ra after their designed had been finished.

The FFXIV dev team still designs/makes the promo items. It's not as separate as you might think. There is absolutely no excuse why they can't give us a variant with little to no effort invested.

Everyone always thinks "exclusive" literally means it will forever be impossible to see it branch out, when it comes to consumer markets. You know, like how the console FF games were "exclusive" to the system(s) they originally released for... oh look, officially released PC versions. It takes time, and in some cases will take years (like full games), but it's merely an example that "exclusive" does not always mean what people think it means. Given how (apparently) SE aren't the ones who decide on the exclusives for China and Korea, but are the ones who own the license, they could always bring it over if they feel the need to. If there is enough demand, they'll look into it. Doesn't mean we'll get those exact goods, but it does mean something LIKE it is a real possibility.

Besides that, aren't those items going to be in their cash shop? Which would probably mean if we got something like it, it'd also be cash shop. Oh how the evangelist types here love to cry out that the sky is falling everytime something is added to the cash shop that they want. Even if it were added in-game but slightly varied in color, people would complain and say it's bullshit that they didn't get the exact version. The outcries for vanity is really funny to see these days. Precious snowflakes that only want what they don't have. Not everyone is like that, obviously, but many are.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm all for having it eventually become available everywhere (or some form of it), but it always starts in the direction of anger or negativity, even when they (probably) aren't directly linked to what goes on in the other versions of the game. It's never something like "These <insert region> items look great! Would love to get something like that someday." to show interest, but rather it always begins like some kind of lecture or frothing at the mouth anger. This topic for example, is like lecturing the devs... wow.

The reason they ask for feedback is because they want to measure the interest for a given item. That way, they don't have to waste time and money likely negotiating with their foreign contracting companies to copy those "exclusive" items. That's right, even though they own the IP, it's not uncommon to still have to go through talks with their contract companies to do things. The final word is SE's, but it doesn't change professional (international) business practices... don't want to be that bully that takes things that were likely detailed as "exclusive" for a period of time. Particularly when it deals with the consumers as well. Some items, no matter how much demand there is for it, won't see an outside release. If they do however, it's likely LONG after the fact. Entitlement attitudes will only get you so far before the one in charge puts their foot down and tells you "no!".

I just can't believe people think the game should have region locked content, it's almost saddening. It's really almost as bad as disk locked content I.E. Street Fighter vs Tekken. It's not a matter of entitlement or anything of that nature, or whatever people want to claim. It's a matter of what is right and wrong, something released to one area of players should be accessible by every other area of players. Now, if SE thinks item A wouldn't work good in market B, then by all means keep it in market A. But at least give market B something in return. This game wouldn't be here at 3.3 without ALL of the players' support and continuing play.

Just adding in another voice for no more region-locked, exclusive items. If they're designed and implemented into one region of the game, they should be implemented into all regions. At the very least, let there be timed exclusives so if one region is given exclusive items, the other regions receive it by the next major patch. And if you're going to be giving one region exclusives, you should be giving all regions their own exclusives (that all eventually become shared). Personally, I don't really care about the debate as to whether they should be free in-game or through the cash shop. Just make them AVAILABLE.

Not sure what exactly you're looking here for either. A few months back when those other Chinese/Korean exclusive outfits came out, Yoshi P said to get on the forums and let them know if we wanted them available in other regions. I'm pretty sure we all did, and yet we still haven't heard anything.

Do you really think TC and others would be accepting (without a long standing degree of complaining) if Yoshi-P outright said "no, we're not going to give you that because <reason>"? Just because someone asks for something, doesn't mean they're going to accept "no" for an answer. Hell, they constantly tell us they can't do something, but we (I'm one of them) question the validity of their response and complain even further. We "ask", but that's not the end of it... and it will never be the end of it until we get exactly what we want. We're not demanding, but we will always complain for the things we want, hence the label of "entitlement" actually fits in cases like these. Keep in mind, it's not "bad", as that's a subjective criticism, but rather that it does still fit within of the scope of being entitled.

Mind you, I'm not saying you can't give these sorts of feedback. I'm saying that it's practically the majority of what anyone gives. In this case, the "give us feedback, but only the kind we want to hear" remark doesn't exactly work well. They're never going to change the inaccessible exclusives upon their release, and that much is an absolute fact as long as there are separate regional servers and another company is creating/releasing the content. I mean the game was introduced with that concept in mind. That'd be like them suddenly changing their update release schedule here to 4 or 5 months. It's not AT ALL a marketed feature you'll see in ads or on the store page/box, but it's something that we associate with the game to have a 3-month-ish update schedule. Changing that causes problems with the players, like that short extended lull period we had not long ago.

In all languages, to "ask" or "suggest" can translate into a passive demand. Ever asked for something (like vacation from work), and your boss told you "I suppose, but do you really think you should?" Despite what was literally said (that you got the OK), do you really think that nothing bad is going to come about it? Likewise, if a player "asks" for something, do you really think after being told "no", that'll be the end of it? There are so many of our peers that treat a "no" like a personal attack, or some kind of excuse to hold a grudge lol, regardless of how minor that grudge becomes.

Edit: Regarding the cash shop though, is that true? So their level boost is just available for free?

The devs asked for feedback and I want to give them mine.

SE! Please find a way to bring the region exclusive items over to JP/NA/EU. I would very much ever be grateful if you were to bring them to our game. Thank you.

That's pretty much the reality of any situation where one group has something another doesn't. Not to mention, that's exactly the case when you deal with international conventions. SE main, for example, will always prioritize Japanese players over international ones. It's home turf. Blizzard will always prioritize the US, because that's home turf. Unless your job is specifically to cater to international audiences over your own local one (which is rarely a thing), there's going to always be some degree of bias. Realistically speaking, that degree of favoritism is acceptable. I'd say most people would choose getting something nice for their own family over getting something nice for some random persons family, if they could only choose one over the other. Most folks would take pride in their own country over pride of another.

As I've stated before though, ask away on wanting something, as that's fine (as long as it's not done in a stupid manner), but know that not everything is going to be equal. You're not going to always get something another has, likewise, they're not going to always get something you have.

You know SE can do whatever SE wants to do and probably will including promos or whatever but that doesn't mean as paying customers, that we can't voice what our perfect product would be. I see no reason there shouldn't be equality and fairness of all items and equal chance to acquire them. Favoritism is a choice that they don't have to make. They could set it up any way they want or do away with all promotions everywhere all together and come out with different ways to introduce new items that would be fair. IMO video games in general would be much better without promotional codes at all but I'm guessing SE feel they want to milk the player base for cash this way as part of their business model but maybe there is a better way to handle it that everyone could profit from including SE. Hopefully one day things will change for the better in this regard.

Every topic about exclusive items is the same thing. People saying that they want content (as if it's something like: YOU EITHER MAKE A NEW RAID OR TRY TO GET PROMOTIONAL ITENS FOR NA/EU USERS) and people being extremely dramatic saying things like "SE U DON'T LOVE US LIKE YOU LOVE THEM". LOL

Anyway, I do care about exclusive items. I play the game for a lot of reasons, and minions, glamour, events and stuff like that are some of them (and truth be told, it doesn't matter if some don't, more than enough people care). But I believe that the chinese items are a different situation from the japanese ones. SE should be more transparent about that subject, and how the process behind making exclusive items for these servers work and why they exist, and if it's true that we can get most of them if the demand is enough, they should at least tell us that our voices were heard. Because, if we can get them eventually, imo it's okay. It's a completely different server with a different administration, and it's not that shocking and unfair as it was with the maid outfit. We'll just have to wait a bit more.

I'm more or less indifferent to the actual items on that list, but I still think they should be available on some level for NA/EU regions. Not sure about the third-party vendor approach for it like the Amazon promotion, but maybe something closer to SE's control. Promotions favor players, and isolating it to certain regions means that some players are more favored than others.

On a side note, these promotions are region-exclusive. Housing is server-exclusive. Big difference there.

Region locked items are a NO! Let us all enjoy your hard work equally! Plus i want me the Chinese red dress!

Many people tend to forget there are different companies in these versions of the game, that makes this stuff. I talk about, square is the publisher and make ofc, but there are other peopel behind these versions as well sadly.

I personally don't care for any of the outfits myself, but I still support that they come over here for the english folks. If they can't release those type of outfits because chinese exclusive or whatever. Just give us the outfits in a different color that is dyeable and call them something else. Not liek they haven't done this in the past.
