Anima Weapon Gil Cost

Honestly in an update or two we may even see the Unidentified items drop from like 690 to 400 or so tome wise. Personally I am working on it slowly, about 20/80 or so but crafting wise, ha, I stopped once scrips came into play so I'll just hold off all together.

My cousin has the right idea the relic isn't gonna be the be all end all weapons, something better and easier will come along and well people are going to be wasting trucks load of money on it for nothing.

Stick to the 200 and have all 210 items or get the other 210 weapons.

Might be able to get it for 6.5-7 right now. Will probably craft some of my second batch to save gil. It's another gil.sellers dream. SE can't be too aganist them when they keep making content that will obviously make RMT a desirable path to take. Wait for the step that requires 50 or so T5 materia...

Yeah you could do it that way also, though you at least paid the craft master a thank you fee right? So not really free is you did unless it was a friend and most people don't have that and if they fail the HQ what then you spend more or farming more so not really free.

It cost me about 3.5mil on Gilgamesh.

As someone who has no idea how to craft and no crafting classes at 60, I had to borrow money from my FC as well as several friends just to afford my i210 (I only had 400k to my name the day before).

This is beyond ridiculous. The people making these items are the people who already have a shit ton of Gil and now they're getting more off the players who don't have nearly as much. I saw a crafter in Idyllshire boasting about how they've made nearly 100mil off relic items.

I guarantee you that crafter busts their ass gathering mats and crafting up all that stuff, so kudos to them.

At the moment, I'm just getting the un-ID'd items as I do other things (the Alex option's not as big a choice since I've gotten all of the 190 gear I need). By the time I get 20 of everything, I believe the prices will drop to a more reasonable amount (it has already done so on Adamantoise, last time I looked). At the moment, I'm only concerned about upgrading Almandal Awoken and bringing any other weapon I don't get with Esoterics to 200 (that'll allow me to get more accessories, in any case).

I got pretty lucky looking at the prices on other servers, however the prices for these items are incredibly costly to the average player. I'm going to assume the average player has about 1-5mil, the prices are much higher on their servers compared to what I had to pay (I saw a couple 5+mils), meaning most average players cannot even afford it.

The reason why this is so ridiculous is because this is the most expensive step. Yes, if you did Novus it very expensive if you wanted Crit/Det IV's, easily beating this step on many servers. However getting Crit/Det IVs were not mandatory to complete your relic, unlike the current crafted items needed for your i210.

It's nerf or nothin... ... Literally. Hopin it gets nerfed to either 1 or 2 later at some point. Not droppin that much gil, I don't care if it becomes ilvl9001 cuz we all know a couple days after an ilvl 9002 weapon gonna be released. If anything this relic gonna end up as something I get when the questlog for it finishes again just for glamor. This is assuming I'm still playing, and friends are.

I'm not sure why people look at 800 alex normal runs and be like "Oh wow, that is too much...that will take me so much time..."

Then see it might cost them 4-8 million gil and be like "OMG, I'll never be able to do that!!"

Cause I had those reactions too, but reversed.

Anyone can make money in this game. Even the most casual market board seller will earn 8mil gil in a much shorter amount of time than 800 alex runs I would hope...

Because they realize it is not 800 Alex runs. It is only 621 runs if you do Alex exclusively, but you don't even have to do any Alex runs. Heck I got my Unidentifieds over 13 days of play without touching Alex once through a combination of Beastribes dailies, Roulettes, Dungeons, and helping people through First time 2.X content.

On the other hand a fair number do not understand how to save/make gil and are surprised by people maintaining more than 500k.

Didn't buy a thing. All gatherers are lvl 60 and I was sitting on a bunch of Diadem mats because I'm a hoarder. Made what I could with my specialty classes and simply did some trades with the other specialty classes. It's also nice to be social in a MMO and make friends, gave mats to a couple buddies and they make for free, in turn I do the same for them. My rule of thumb for strangers asking me to make the items is, if you give me all the required mats for the craft (CRP mats has to be HQ since it's not very geared), I'll do it for free. Don't really care about tips or you can simply 'pay it forward'.

If only everyone was like you this would be a much better game. Seems most people just quit when confronted with any kind of challenging content, instead of just finding a way to make it happen :(

These are the people that wouldn't have made it past lvl 20 in ffxi.

On Malboro, the HQ items go between 515k each (player sold via trade, not MB) and 800k on MB. If you take the max value, you're looking at 12.8 mil here. I never keep more than 500k, so I had began to slow down progress on the Anima, because the HQ items will be my brick wall. Hopefully, they drop in price, as many people are now beginning to get the Anima, or have crafters in their FC who's doing it for free.

I usually end up getting a relic (or multiple relics) done quick because I'm a solo player, unfortunately. However, I can't afford the HQ items for this one, so I might be late to the game this round.

Crafting was always a huge part of FFXIV, so no surprise that crafting is part of the relic quest.

And I also didn't want to waste Gil on the relic items, so my (2) friends and I splitted the crafting specialisation between us. My specialisations are LTW, WVR and CRP. A bonus for us was that we all had at least one gatherer at max. level. So we gathered all materials, crafted the relic items and only had to pay for some melds needed to hit the requirements with buff food.
16 items for 200k Gil max.

There are always alternatives to get the items. Don't get stuck with the idea that you have to buy them.

I don't think people are mad about the fact crafts are included in the relic quest, but are mad at the crazy markup most of the "greedy crafters" are selling them for on the English servers. None of the the components are crazy hard to get as you pointed out (unlike the Zodiacs which required Big Fish and desyned mats. The crafted items that required those cost around 100k during their heyday on most servers). Few would be complaining if they were selling for 50k to 100k on the MB, but as people are pointing out they are being sold for 10 to 20 times as much.

I made 2 of them myself and the other two I got someone to make for me, no charge, but I did give a tip just to be nice.

Really it's not difficult to just be social and get someone to make it for you. Even if it does cost you a little it's always less than buying it outright, people who spend millions on these honestly super easy to make items have no one to blame but themselves.

The buyers are more to blame for the high prices than the sellers.

If they didn't sell for high prices, the cost would plummet very quickly. As I stated anyone complaining about prices should go get the mats themselves as it's not hard, and if you don't have a gatherer well time to get one.

I can confirm it's about 8million plus on Siren..it started at 12 million and hasn't dropped since, rather not pay that much for a weapon that will be outdated soon for awhile anyway.

Cost me 3.8m on Behemoth. Made the full amount back in less than 5 days so not a big loss.

If people didn't buy them then they wouldn't be at that price.

IMO it takes time and either money or more time to get crafters up to the level to make the relic items and I see whatever the crafter sells it for is fair price.

Dont know if im reading your example right but why would someone sell something that costs 100k to make for 50k - 100k? there's no profit in that at all >.<

I see the relic crafted items as pretty fair, you have four to obtain them really.

1. Buy them
2. Level crafters and make them
3. Get the mats for them and pay a small tip to a crafter to make
4. wait till price drop

I just hope next time we can gate stuff behind rare triple triad drops, ideally from Lewena. Maybe something that's highly relevant for crafters, just for a change, you know?

Call me vindictive, but I'd "love" to tell people who cry over that to just gather cards themselves, buy it from friends or wait for a price drop.

I dealt with them by sending an alt to a legacy server to get them for less than 1 mil.

Crafters have stuff gated for them too behind either combat or gathering. Which they also have said options available to them.

Also none of the drops needed for the relic are rare nor do they require RNG so thats a pretty strange example to say the least.

That's why I'm just determined to hoard beast currency for now. At least until I get my crafts to lv 60 and start grinding blue for the master craft tomes. And then its 430 or something to swap the class' to be a specialist in. If only the retainers could venture those mats for holy water and leather it'll help speed things up to get past that craft window.

Either way, 8 mill is still cheaper than the time and cost for these weapons and mats back in XI.

I should have quoted "crazy markup."
It is more a supply chain issue on Siren from what I can tell.

HQ Adamantite Nuggets are 40k each
HQ Dawnborn Aethersand is 140k each
HQ Pterodactyls are 35k each
HQ Birch Lumber is 8k to 10k each

That is 293k base if a Blacksmith/Leatherworker specialist buys the mats off the MB for each Franncesca.

I think people are bothered because this game wasn't designed in a way that crafting/gathering plays a major role. Before you crafters get up in arms, I mean in terms of other MMOs where crafting is integrated into the core gameplay, let's say Runescape, Albion Online, ArcheAge, all are examples that people have likely heard about. In FFXIV it's sort of a "side" thing that sometimes plays an important role, and at other times, doesn't. The worst part is the huge investment and gil required to get into crafting, the specialist system which was meant to fix the omnicrafting system only made crafting worse without fixing anything.

No one wants to spend potentially 100+ hours leveling all the crafters if they don't enjoy crafting, so telling them to "Go level crafting and gathering and then do it." isn't a viable answer, and will just annoy them. They could socialize and make crafter friends, but due to the specialist system they'd need multiple friends who craft. Besides, if your sole purpose of making a friend is to utilize their crafting classes, you're not a friend, you're just using them for your own gain. Regardless of that, I don't think it's best to pin it on lazy players but rather SE. It was a horrible choice, it does nothing but funnel gil into the pockets of rich crafters and for what? There's nothing for those crafters to spend it on anyway as they can just make every expensive item. What they should have done is have a vendor sell the items at 100,000-200,000 each, so that it's a decent gil sink while being costly but not too costly.

Being a person who can't craft the relic items I know what option I have to choose from and as I said above I feel thats fair to me.

Objection! If you go the treasure map route, there is RNG :P. That aside, I was just making adjustments to get the Triple Triad grind on par with the grind required to get all crafting classes up to 60 to make the items, then gathering the materials on top...for which you need a gatherer up as well. Oh, and I forgot you have to equip all of those as well! And from what I "gather", you need your weekly capped red scrips to get the soulstones as well. For which you again need items to turn in. For which you need materials you need to gather.

You know, now that I think about it, you are right: I'm being far too mild with the Triple Triad example.

Frankly, unless you do that content anyway for fun, it's not a realistic option to suggest, that's the point I'm making. It's simply too much investment in a type of content that is not remotely desired by the person and the example only serves to give you a perspective, with the assumption that you do not enjoy triple triad card gathering of course. If you do enjoy that and play TT anyway, you'll probably go:"Sure, all the better for me!". If you could do with only a single crafter up at 60 to gain access to every recipe you need (including the ability to actually make them HQ), okay, I might be able to see the point. You gotta have a battle class at 60 to gain full access to crafting facilities as well after all, so we could call it somewhat fair. But that's not the case.

Sounds like the large amount of players on Greg means that you have a rather good supply chain pushing mat costs down.

I wish I could make them all but since those are special recipes you need at least 3 crafters, because those 4 items have as materials one special item from the other 4 crafter classes not mentioned WVR, GSM, LTW and ARM.

You get your first 3 soulstones for free just for talking to some NPC's.

On top of that, the cost requirement on changing specializations have a very obnoxious cost of 480 red scrips, where as the tokens are only in increments of 50.

Then choose wisely then never change. cost = zero red scrips.

Personally, I paid 25k x 16 for the dawnborne aethersands some modicum for the Diadem stuff, and... that was about it. If I didn't have specialists across several alts I would have made the ones I could make then traded with other crafters for what they can make. It's not hard to talk to people people. The marketboard should be your last resort for semi-difficult items such as these.

If you don't craft and don't gather because it's "boring" then you have no right to complain.

What those people fail to realize is that the "crafting illuminati" had to shell out millions of gil and dozens, if not hundreds, of hours just to get to the point that they can make the items. Leveling and gearing your crafts is like going to med school. It takes a shit ton of time and money to do it, but at the end you make bank. Are you going to tell me you expect a doctor to go through a minimum of 8 years of schooling and 6 figures of student loan debt to make minimum wage? Same principle. You're paying for the expertise, not just the item.

If it wasn't obvious before this is yet another thread of people complaining expecting to have their anima handed to them for little to no work. Once I committed to doing mine, I was able to level crafting to a point where Gil income was possible- not including mining for/selling daily treasure maps which alone is 1hq item per day essentially. Stop complaining and do your relic or keep complaining and don't. No one is going to do the quest for you.

Additionally, the point of the anima is to have a high tier weapon that you build upon, that grows in strength- so everyone complaining that it's outdated on creation are failing to see what relics have always been not only in XIV but XI as well. If you refuse to save Gil or invest the time to farm the items- then get to work on A4S or wait for future raid content which was already confirmed to be much easier. Their intentions have been stated clearly from the get go.
