I think it is a reference to the game Last Remnant (we also got haircuts from that game, just saying).

As for what exactly it is here... I kind of figured it was the "last remnant" of a floating island. Lets say the Zeta Quadrant used to stand there, but now the only remnant is what we see.

Eureka was historically where the ultimate weapons were stored in Final Fantasy III, so a favorite theory of mine was always that in Eorzea, it was where the Allag stored their Ultima Weapons. I think Azys Lla and Seal Rock are where much of Allagan R&D went on, though.

Since someone mentioned an Antitower being similar to antibiotic, or a weapon meant to destroy a tower, I considered something similar.

My thought was that the Antitower was the tower meant to be "Anti" to the Triad, so there would be 3 Antitowers, one for each. What happens when the WoL goes somewhere with Allagan tech? Usually things are destroyed. What happens when our accidentally-destructive WoL goes into an already-waning tower sealing one of the Triad?

Why do i have the feeling this locale is going to lead us to find out what's below the sea of clouds?

At any rate, I am hoping for significantly more Derplander beatdowns than the 0 provided in 3.1.

The guy who was translating on Mr. Happy's stream said it could also be read as "oppression tower". It could be a containment field generator or something. Specially if it's in Azys Lla to suppress the Warring Triad.

That definitely seems like something to be found within Azyz Lla then.

Crazy thought. What if its tied to the many 'sealed away' primals that Taimat mentioned. Remember in the Cutscene of the battle of Silvertear Lake, when the Airship blows up primals shoot out from the explosion.

What if there is a heap of primals sealed away underneath the lake and that's what Midgardsormr was guarding? Not sure how that would tie to Nidhogg though.

Tiamat was referring to sealed away eikons such as the Triad, not primals. They seem to be establishing a distinction between primals as false gods and eikons as real gods. We still aren't sure of the specifics of how that seal under Silvertear Lake worked either; was it the actual primals themselves sealed in there or just the excess aether that was necessary to summon them? We've never really gotten much of an answer on the subject...

My thought is partially born from the fact they did say we would find out what was under Silvertear in the HW expansion and what Midgardsormr was guarding. That's why I feel pretty confident that at some point we will find ourselves moving back to Mor Dhona again.

I think it's going to have something to do with the Antithesis. There's a transportation node just south of there near the Pappus Tree that says something to the effect of "Access denied, only senior military or research personnel may enter the facility."

Interesting... If that node acts as the entrance to the dungeon, given the proximity to Tiamat and the "oppression" translation... I wonder if we might be freeing Tiamat? Yoshida mentioned not wanting MSQ progress to be locked behind Primals anymore, so I'd assume Sephirot is not part of the MSQ, more so when this is meant to be building up to the climax of the Dragonsong War, Sephirot shouldn't really have much to do with that, but Tiamat? She should absolutely be involved.

Tiamat being part of the map shouldn't be a huge issue, either because of what you said or because they could just do what they did and are going to continue to do with Alexander rising out of the lake.

Thinking about it, it's probably more problematic that Tiamat is part of the Sightseeing Log, rather than part of the map...

Tiamat and the Gration. Either heaven and earth will need to move later to keep the log consistent (or hopefully they programmed in an alternate text function in advance), or we can assume not much is going to happen with either. EVER.

Well, they could move to do something, then move back... Tiamat especially, I think she's serious about sitting there until the end of time, but it's entirely possible we could have her go big-sis aggro on Nidhogg before returning there...

The Gration is probably stuck there though, given the description... Not sure I care though, since I figured it would only ever be a dungeon... Would it even do anything if it was used again? The brief action we saw from it indicated that it's Star Wars levels of incompetent... I dare count the shots it fired, but I'm pretty confident it only had a 1% accuracy rating, and most of those hits were on a stationary Primal...

Ipsen's Castle from FFIX is what came to mind when I see AntiTower.

For those who never played FF9, there's a dungeon late in the game called Ipsen's Castle and it's a huge upside-down castle. In this zone, everything is reversed (climb up poles instead of slide down, strong weapons deal weak damage and low level weapons deal high damage).


Could also resemble the FFIX desert palace which has a room with a Warring Triad homage puzzle.

SE's been dangling this carrot on a stick in front of us since 3.0 launched and we still don't know what it is. It has spiral staircases, wood-plank bridges, roots connecting all the islands that are flat and look like they can be traversed...it has way too much detail put into it to just be "nothing."

the fact, that it isn't anywhere to be found on the current maps means that it's either part of an existing thing (like the that large spike like thing on the bottom of the flagship) or we will be teleported to it, cause it isn't accessable from the open world (maybe what's under silvertear lake, or maybe the moon?! After all we have the WoL and the WoD, anti-light means darkness, maybe we go to "bizzaro world")

I think it's a bit early in the main storyline for that. I can't imagine having a pretty big event like "The Triad is awakening" and them showing us what Middy was hiding in the same patch. SE likes to keep their big events for different patches.

When they mentioned that being revealed several live letters ago they seemed to be implying that The Seal and The Twelve would be the 3.0 to 4.0 carry over like the Ul'dah incident was for 2.0-3.0

If I remember correctly, during the main scenario it was actually mentioned that transporter is meant to provide access to the Flagship, but because of the security lock it forced the player to find another way there (thus leading to the meeting with Tiamat and then the player riding Middy directly there - one may think why we didn't just ride a mount there in the first place and save us all that bother, but the final aether current was gained at that point ;)). So yeah, I don't see it being used for anything other than just flavour text for the setting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that actually Neverreap? It would make sense naturally, it fits the design for one. So yeah, I'm pretty sure that is just Neverreap.

Neverreap is visible floating off the north edge of the Sea of Clouds map, actually. The one off the south edge a completely different unexplored Vanu area.

I see a lot of posts saying Anti-tower meaning a tower that goes down instead of up, what about it being more like a device that destroys towers? The Anti-Tower could be more like a weapon that is planned to be used on Ishgard.

Sorry if this was already stated, I only read a couple of pages.

They have mentioned on a few occasions that they were interested in eventually implementing Eureka- A subterranean treasure trove/town/necropolis that existed in the basement of the crystal tower people may remember from FF3jp.

If you go back to the cutscenes of CT, Nero is there for a singular reason, to locate a specific signature of allagan origins. Using his special compass.

At the end of WoD, he ultimately gives up on such a folly of a quest, as he never got the compass to "ping" what he was looking for. He discards it off the ledge into the abyss surrounding CT.

...and as the screen fades black, you as the observer of the cutscene can barely make out a steady pinging noise... The compass was finally detecting its target nearby, deep below CT.

Also, a fanmade artwork was made as a suggestion, that the tower was fully crystal shaped, light side above ground, dark below. They certainly could have taken that to heart in their plans.

Not tough to figure out what to expect, lol.

I've been begging for Eureka since the original CT story terminated itself in that most ingloriously slipshod way that it did. Yoshida was dropping the name "Eureka" like crazy before 2.5, but I think he's only used the words "Crystal" and "Tower" in a sentence together twice in the year since. And he outright changed the subject when Famitsu asked him about it last month...

With Alisaie coming back into the MSQ shortly, I can only hope that we'll be seeing the other 2.X raid story folded back in as well, in some capacity. At the very least I'm surprised Nero hasn't been spotted poking around Azys Lla yet, and I still refuse to accept that "I'm aborting my character arc to preserve this prominent-yet-underutilized MacGuffin for some undefined purpose in the future!" isn't a direct sequel hook. Someone still has to prove to Krile that she's not the last of her kind...

Which Ruin? The Collosium or The Door in the Cave?

One thing I could see is while clearing the mess in Ishgard, they find a secret tower going down through the pillar of rock that Ishgard sits upon and that tower is related to the past of Ishgard and maybe gives a reason to why the original Thordan and his knights did what they did.

Well most dungeons are. The open-world scaling is done differently than instance scaling so we aren't traversing 2x the amount of land. Fly up and check out Fractal Continuum or check out the Wander's Palace for example. The insides are a LOT larger then the outsides. Even the Aetherochemical Research Facility would barely fit within the Flagship if it were actual size.

Taking in mind what was said about ''opression tower'' i remembered that, thordan's weather, the weather in the reactor is ''opression'' so i went to have a look again in azys lla. this is the entrance of thordan and Aetheriochemical Research Facility:

Doesn't seem very relevant right? well... we also know , that if SE follows the formula, the trial will be (right) before the dungeon (snowcloak/shiva, keeper of the lake/chrisalis)

this seems to be an.... well, it kind of resembles a door to me. so i would bet that to be the anti tower.

so, my bets? (pure speculation) door of sephirot is the 2nd photo, door of the fiend is 3rd. Anti tower door would be the tower in the middle, that would go downwards, therefore, the 4th picture.

and the door for the godess would be the last picture,wich interestingly enough, in the last patch they have added an interesting barrier style visual effect to the hallway entrance that leads to the red room.

what you guys think?

There's a big door chained up at the back of Azys Lla. It could be there.

I don't recall the exact coordinates (nor can I get them cuz' I'm not in-game at the moment), but there's a door at the back of the flagship. It's kind of hidden in a tunnel which seems to lead under the flagship. There's what looks like a force-field in front of it (though you can walk through it, no problem), and the door is sealed up with many chains. Like everything else, it glows red. I've been wondering about it since I first got to Azys Lla.

Next time I get online, I'll try to get the exact coordinates and/or take a snapshot.

I like the idea that they are the doors to the Waring Triad. That was actually my original assumption (before they announced the Anti-Tower), because there is a giant statue of them right above this door. There's no real proof, though. So, for all I know, it could be a door to the bathroom.

@Krypyonite's theory on it adds up in numbers, and I think it is most likely that this door is for the Triad ... but I have a question. IF these 3 doors do, in fact, lead to the Waring Triad, wouldn't there be a problem with the separation of the 3 deities? In FFVI, it was heavily implied that the three petrified gods had to be balanced, their remains were moved together and arranged in a specific way to keep that balance from falling apart. In FFXIV, keeping them separate would make sense from a game design perspective to allow us to challenge them one at a time (rather than a free-for-all cluster f***), so it would make sense to me that they are in distinct locations. Yet, from a lore perspective I wonder if that makes sense. Do the Warring Triad in FFXIV not have the same relationship to one another that they do in FFVI?

I hear, well, my assumption is that Giants were used as experiments at Azys Lla, that is, the experiments in cloning that Amon did. They potentially were the first in the cloning experiments subjects, and the reason these Gigant class of Giant's are attracted to Mor Dhona and the Crystal Tower is likely a result of adopting the memories, albeit in the smallest amount, of the thing they were attempting to clone in the early stages.

Behind that door I'd wager is either failed experiments of the cloning, leftover data of it, and other thing related to the whole thing.

Bit of an out there theory, I know, based and brought on purely on what is essentially a similar looking symbol (it could just be their attempt at copying it, or something).

What ever is in there must be Pretty horrifying if the hyper advanced Allagan Empire resorted to litterally chaining the doors shut instead of just locking them with tech.
