Even if they did, whats going to stop them from teleporting to the crystal in the same zone you are in and finding you?
Each zone has a crystal, its as I said before no matter what they will end up stalking you regardless if you have ring or not.

Because as I've stated earlier, it is different where they can teleport STRAIGHT TO YOU vs teleporting to the map and having to FIND you. Good luck trying to find someone doing stuff in whatever map, as they could be in town, gathering, leveling, fates, leves, ect. But if you had the ring, you teleport right BESIDE their character.
If I were in lavender beds, it wouldn't show WHERE I was in lavender beds. You would have to essentially look through ALL the wards and ALL the divisions to find my character. With the teleport ring, you just use it every 30 mins and you are on my character's butt.
If a person is absolutely set on stalking another individual for whatever malicious intent, SE should NOT make it easier for that person to do so because of the flawed divorce system.
You remind me of this guy in FFXI who got married on the game and his Woman in Real Life got mad after she found out, so the person dropped his ring and told the girl he married to leave him alone, though she didn't wanna drop her ring and followed him and he was getting pissed complaining about it cause his girl was giving him issues cause the girl on game wouldn't stop showing up and getting him in trouble.
So who do you think is at fault, the guy miss leading a girl character on the game into something or the girl who didn't wanna drop the ring and started to stalk him?
Everyone told him in my shell that if he was already with someone in real life and she was against it he shouldn't even done it from the start.
So moral of the story don't get into a relationship that has this sort of thing happen and its just a game don't take it serious, the person doesn't know your street address or real name or phone number its not like they are going to show up at your work or door step.
Also you said it would be hard to find you with all that stuff going on, so if they had the ring teleport and you were doing those things and had them black listed what are the chances of you paying attention to what they are doing?
Another thing maps are tiny and some zones have 2 crystals not very hard to find locations if you know spawn points and area's where you'll be in the game not many spots to hang out.
Anyways I am done talking about this seems like a small issue to me.
Blist the stalker, turn off the name plates. Congratulations, now the stalker is just one of many characters standing around you. And if you still this as a problem, then probably you are the problem. Ever heard of the word "Obsessed"???? Yes my friend, you are obsessed with your stalker.
An ulterior motive that seemed to backfire? I'm sure if you put in a ticket to explain the situation, there is the possibility that they might nullify the capabilities, but you can't refute the fact that you entered into this virtual pact for all the wrong reasons. The other person paid the fees (ed. traded real money for in game glamour items - within the boundaries of the rules of the game, since it was through the Mog Station) and you reaped the benefits. Other than all the stuff you got courtesy of this persons real money, there was only one thing that they could expect in the end - to teleport to you every 30 min. There's no shared gil, property, or items.
The reaction you are giving here is why they haven't made it so that an eternally bonded couple can't dip into each other's things. I'll be honest, I never thought about someone actually entering into the eternal bonding system for the sake of stuff like you did. Ugh.
[edited to add] I actually know someone in game who did stuff in real life for the sake of gil then regretted the outcome as well. I should be shocked by what you did, but knowing someone who promised nude photos in trade for gil... Well, I guess RMT pales in comparison. The lesson here isn't that SE needs to fix the divorce system, it's in the motivation that drives someone who wants a piece of glamour gear so bad that they are willing to take advantage of someone else to get it, then they don't want to suffer the consequences.
My advise: Don't get drunk in Costa Del Sol. Stuff that happens there, never stays there!
Why did we need this abused flavor-of-the-month content again?
We kept asking for it.
Despite the OP's individual situation, he has pointed out a loophole in the system. Yoshi-P stated that marriage was mostly for RP, but, in a practical gameplay sense, it allows you fast access to someone you should reasonably be frequently playing with, so that the teleport is useful, fluff aside.
I guess I empathize with OP a bit becuase I had a relationship go sour, and the only means of escape from his stalking was to jump servers and change my name, something others with an established group to play with may not want to have to do.
Hire a lawyer I'm guessing a scholar then come to an agreement with asset distribution like in real life you 2 have any kids in the marriage?
Regardless of people's reasons for getting married, not having a simple in game system to dismantle some of the potential stalking mechanisms is a bit short sighted on SE's part.
Maybe a GM can assist?
As I said earlier, I am fine with my current situation because it was a friend that I married. He was cool with paying for the stuff because HE wanted it and wanted someone he knew to marry. I reap the benefits but again, that is not the point of my thread as many are misinterpreting or trolling.
I'll just quote myself from earlier what THE MAIN problem is about:
O look, someone gets it. Thank god. It isn't about me. I don't care if my friend creeps on me- it is my friend. What I care about are people who have sour relationships and the fact that SE is basically making it EASIER for potential harassers to do their thing.
ETERNAL bond :)
Good luck buddy!
One word - Blacklist. You blacklist and the person can't even look you up. That doesn't stop them from dropping by your home and if the door is 'unlocked' coming in, but that's it. They can't send you messages and they can't find you through a Player Search. Don't care if they can search? Go into busy mode. I do this all the time to stop those harassing "Buy gil cheap" advertisements. The one person who you quoted as empathizing had this harassment before, not after an in game marriage. Test the blacklist on your friend.
You have posted several times that you don't care and that it's your friend and it's ok, yet you removed the ring and wanted it to stop. Doesn't seem like a friend or friendship does it?
Regardless, in the immortal words of Nelson Muntz...
For those in that situation, Annul the marriage, don't just drop the ring. Also, marry someone else maybe. Crating a new Eternal bond may break the other. Someone needs to try that. Like can you be married to more that one person? Get married, drop your ring, do it again....
Yep, I looked it up, you can just annul the wedding with one of the NPC's up there. It might be Claribel. I think there might be a time limit so that people aren't just spamming weddings for whatever strange reason that they might. Actually, you have to do the annulment anyway to re-marry, so there's not point in taking on the added expense of proceeding with the 2nd marriage.
Can we all just take time to appreciate the bitter irony of how real this situation is
You: Female?
Him: Male
Asks you to wed for fun and items. Was probably creepy before hand, now you finally notice he's creepy.
He paid $40 to stalk you, probably way cheaper than what people in real life have to pay.
A lot of people creep out when a female says something in a FC chat, my friends have seen it and I've seen it in the past. It always seems like friendly silly stuff but to a lot of onlookers the person is obviously being a creep.
No, the players overlooked it. Devs themselves said "Please try to use the system for it's intended purpose." It's marriage, it's intended to do with someone you don't mind being by your side. OP messed up when they realized they didn't want that person by their side.
I think if a character goes through a divorce they should lose all rewards the marriage gave. Intended purpose fufilled.
I wouldn't dare marry a female in this game who's played by an actual female. Too close to the real thing, sorry.
Marriage to me in MMOs is nothing more than a friendly joke between friends, with in-game benefits. It's genius. Taking it seriously is begging for hilarious problems.
Probably marrying another player might resolve this problem? I'm not sure at all, but there is a chance that marrying another player will render your old spouse's ring useless.
Right on! Lose the glamour clothing, lose the chocobo... Lose it all. People miss (I did initially) that this person just took off the ring and did not go through the annulment that is built into the game. This was meant to be an "eternal" bond. People are just grabbing at glamour items and then blaming the development team when things work as exactly as intended. People can stalk you in this game with or without a ring on your finger. Where are you, my unrequited love? <player search> Ah you are in your private home in the Mist. <teleport to Mist, chocobo to your house> I am here. Why aren't you looking at me? Notice me, damn you? <perform dragoon AoE, the most irritating effect in the game> You will notice me! The only step that has to be left out with the bonding system is that it's an instant teleport every 30 mins. Thank goodness, the stalker just saved 2 minutes of time harassing you.
<edited to add> GhibliTheSW, there is an annulment process. You have to talk to the NPC that started the whole thing. You have to annul before another marriage anyway, so as I said previously, there's no reason to marry another person, just annul.
lol at ppl saying $E put paywall on marriage so "people think twice". Trust me, they don't want you to think twice, they want you to buy it twice lol
As for all the "random people shouldn't marry in the first place" comments - you do realize this is a video game, if marrying a random person is fun, there is nothing wrong by doing it.
The stalker is a stalker regardless of the marriage, he just has the ability to teleport to you now. report to GM since that's pretty much harassment, and well, yeah, i think if one person drops the ring, the other ring should lose its effect.
they should force people to either stick together for a certain amoutn of time or if they want the divorce what they paid for is gone lost and what they got be removed from them...that would make them think twice.
I mean as long as is stated as such everybody takes their own responsability.....frankly,OP, you put youself in this position, I dont feel sympathetic towards you not even for a bit.
You wanted it ..you got it..good luck
Sorry this is just what shall I say? ridiculous

Many lawyers were dodged to bring you this secret insider info...
its not, its a game, but they chose to get married. I dont see why choices shouldnt impact you in this game. The World needs to stop babysitting people that do wrong decisions period. If you really want totally out of the marriage where someone stalks you can server hop period.
I still see marriage as a big choice IRL or Ingame. Less so Ingame but its still something i wouldnt sully just for some dumb stuff, its the thought behind the marriage that gets sullied.
Unfortunately you are not on my server, and I am a lady and will not be posting lewd screenshots in a public forum. Sadly, we are at an impasse. However, when I log out of the game tonight (I am at work now), I will be sure to wear the attire in question so you can at least see my Lodestone profile. It's better than nothing. Trust me, a female Roegadyn is very much a woman.
Greetings,
First, if you are encountering players who are behaving inappropriately, we ask that you try to discuss matters and attempt to resolve problems privately. If attempts to create a civil understanding do not work and harassment continues, we recommend contacting a GM.
As for the ability to teleport to a player you were once eternally bonded to, simply adding them to your blacklist will disable the teleport feature.
The more I read the more I laugh please keep the comments coming
