Why is Housing Such a High Priority?

Lol yea that says something you set your alarm but what about ppl with a job or class? in the morning your way of thinking is why SE made a mess {not that i am mad about how housing is} but for ppl with out a fc home or ppl that were waiting for a place of there own i can understand

I'd love for more jobs, especially complex ones or a real pet job. But as was said in another topic, SE thinks we're too dumb to handle any of that, so they try to make all the jobs as similar as possible so people can easily switch to them and have no trouble, yet some people still do, no matter how often they play said job :/ That's another let down in the majority of mmos these days, there's no real difference in the jobs except very tiny minor things that don't really impact it, which makes it kind of boring

And eventually they will add more places. SE is never going to remove instant kill mechanics from these things. Instant kill stuff is their "challenge" mode. Saying This game is increadibly accessable except housing is bullshit, there's all sorts of stuff that you hit a brickwall in and can't do. And everyone who responds with "Learn to play" or "Get good" well learn to wake up on at 7 am, its the same damn thing.

I don't think too much time and resources is put into it, just too much of the forum is atm.

They promised to take player feedback seriously, yet anytime we get something designed based on player feedback it's implemented as an afterthought. Maybe if they just picked one really good player suggestion that can be shown to have a lot of positive feedback in surveys to focus on up to expansion we wouldn't keep running into these messes every other patch.

So, what about someone like myself who works 6am to 2pm, or my friend who works the graveyard shift and doesn't get home til 8am? Is your solution to call off work so we can do some video game content? That will go over well. Oh wait, no, that's right! We're supposed to wait til 2.4, or whenever they add enough wards.

And when are they going to remove Instant death mechanics from "challenging" content? Housing being only available to certain people is par for the course like instant kills, like insane Rng atma drops.

Because you do not understand the difference of the jobs in this game, it doesn't mean that there isn't any.

No, I feel the same way. But you see, actual substance and content doesn't sell in this game. Only vanity - look at all the "Show off your character" threads and whatnot, billion pages long - its all people care about in this game for the most part, minion, slippers, shiny doodads, bikinis and bras, and now housing - gotta place my furniture yo! Hell it even got to me at one point, I spent alot of gil and jumped through alot of hoops to color my AF gear, at the end of the day I was like "did I really just fall for this trap?"

The English language is not a matter of perspective.

This point has been addressed before. Having some developers work on housing does NOT slow down the other projects to be implemented in the game. The developers are split in teams, each working on a separate field of the game. The developers that work on housing will not be in charge of creating new dungeons, or design new armor, or write new quests. There is a team for each of those things.

As for "resources and efforts" being put into housing, I'm not sure what you mean. All they did was to add a button on the Placard to allow individuals to buy a plot without having to form an FC and raise its rank to 6. And that's after nine months of supposed "in the works".

It's not just me that doesn't see a difference >_> lol It's not like other mmos where you want a specific job for something and only that job. Here you can have pretty much anything for content and it doesn't matter at all. Judging by what I've seen of the community, I'm sure they did that so people don't "get their feelings hurt" or "have to level another job" because the one they picked isn't useful in content.

For certain content (FATEs, etc.), but you can't have 8 people working on downing Garuda (EX) and throw more people at it and expect anything, any extra people would be spectators who fetch coffee at best. Worst, and much more likely, case they end up as an annoyance that gets in the way and actually slows down progress. No matter what it's a waste of manpower though and wouldn't happen; either they work on housing or they're pretty much out of the job.

You missed the point of the joke so I'm going to assume you haven't played older mmos lol In a time without all this instanced everything, you literally could just throw more players at something and it'd die

When you have content that is only available except via housing, and isn't available to 99.99% of the population, it becomes a super high priority.

Not everything in this game should be obtainable via ONLY dungeons combats. Game set up like this which forces everyone to play combat, will be short lived.

People don't see the difference because people can't seem to grasp what relative balance is. The fact is that every jobs plays differently and the game is balanced so that you can pick any combos of tanks, healers and DPS to clear the content. That's a good thing and it's not hard to understand why.
