THEN BE A FUCKING MASTER IN IT! You are seriously freaking out over PURE SPECULATION!!!!

umm i dont like this idea,
one of the things i like about the FF onlines is thay with one char you can bee anything you like, if you put the time and effort to get all your crafts to 50 you should be able to.
I strongly believe that you should only be able to master one or two crafts. With that said this could only be implemented when there is a change in the level cap. I understand that a lot of people put several hours into ranking up multiple crafting classes. They should not be punished. If the cap were to be raised to 60 then they could allow people to choose which crafts they want to master in. At rank 50 in all the other crafts you would still be able to repair anything R50 gear. They should also give some specialization when you choose to master in a certain craft.
Some things to consider may be Greater chances of hq, possibly making multiples of one item with one craft, a few pieces of gear that cannot be traded and that can only be used by the crafter who made it. There are many ways to implement "mastery" of a craft, but it does need to happen sooner or later. Without it you have a greater supply then a demand which causes prices to go down due to undercutting. It is in the best interest of crafters and the economy for there to be mastery. With less supply you have a greater demand and in turn you will be able to sell at higher prices.
My beef was never towards repair , rather than having to pay for access to a different craft .maxed/specialization/whatever name want to put it.
lets say a goldsmith 75 and a blacksmith 75 are comparable in use to.is not the point im bringing here.
The point is the game have been advertised and 1 of its strongest selling points apart from being a FFIP, is having everything in 1 char.
Limiting people to 1 maxed (whatever name you want to give it) per char , means if you re-roll you can have an advantage , as long as you pay the extra irl fee.
Speculation? Not likely, especially coming from a game so close to another game who did exactly the same thing.Speculation , hardly.
One question. If i rank GLD to rank 50 and the level cap is rank 80 (per se) all my gear would be rank 80 right? then the job is useless to everyone who is capped and to me who is capped. so i wasted my time. when you hit level 80 do you wear level 50 gear? do you make lvl 50 gear? not really cause the money is made on high level gear that i would not be able to make cause of this limit SE "might" put on us.
The bottom line is..... i would never have ranked more then one craft if in 2 years i would only be able to use it for low level gear and repairs.
your options are actually worded to have less people click the second option. do you want to be able to choose freely or have to pay for a mule? Less people are going to click it just because you inserted "have to pay for a mule". This will lead to biased and obscured numbers.
Here's something I put up in the Items, Synthesis, and Gathering forum a month ago. Nobody really checks that forum much.
I want to point out beforehand that this is taking into account that we can still max leveling all the crafts available. This would be an idea to take a craft in particular and dive further into it, either special ability bonuses provided by that craft or more special crafting recipes that can be created. So if we still wanted to level a craft for self repairs or whatnot we can do that.

Your example is what i do not like.
Here a example. What if i ranked up GLA and MRD to 50. then the job system comes out and the "master" for those jobs is PLD and WAR. Now you can onlt pick one job "master". if i choose WAR i can never be a PLD and vice versa. If i want to be a PLD i would have to pay for another mule and rank up GLA on another character. Would you like that? does that even make sense?
I already explained why you cannot have everybody mastering everything. There will a far greater supply then a demand. This will actually cause crafters to lose money. Because there is so much supply the prices drop constantly. This causes crafters who worked hard to lose money. Limiting supply allows for prices to equalize and rewards the hard work of the crafter. Limiting the supply is in the best interest of crafters. Limiting supply is in the best interest of crafters and mastery is the way to go about that. I know several crafters who have leveled up many different crafts, but they end up selling for incredibly low prices. I would rather have two crafts that I can make money in then 6 crafts that I can't. This is good for crafters.
If we could level only one class, first of all they'd have to redo a few items that require you to have levels in two classes to make.
Second of all, if someone's got the time and money to level 2 or more crafting classes, he should. The only shame is he can't buy all of his mats from an NPC at a reasonable price to get money out of the economy.
I agree totally , but people seems to be misunderstanding the main problem here.
We have two systems ffxiv current one and ffxi one.
In ffxi if you wanted to have more than 1 craft maxed you payed the fee rerolled everything (god the pain of sub crafts) and you have more than 1 craft maxed.
In current ffxiv is the same thin but you dont need to reroll or pay the extra.
You just need to reroll that second class again, is been done that way before. Also this is intended for when they raise cap so current equipment doesnt mean a thin.
Why people can not see the main problem here ?, anyways im off for work .
Everyone should be able to rank up every craft to max, tho there should be specializations that allow you to craft more things than others in a craft. Like BSM specialist/master/whatever Can make special/rare weapons/weapon parts/mats while BSM that just ranked it up can just make regular weapons/weapon parts/mats.
I understand your point and it is a good one. But have we every played in a game that let everyone rank up every craft? Plus there are people who do not touch crafts only melee. never ever will everyone actually rank all the classes. so there will still be someone (lots of someones) who will need a crab bow or a repair .
Plus here is the kicker. this game ALREADY allows everyone to rank every class. yet i still see lots of rank 50 crafted gear selling like crazy. We are ALREADY playing the game you are scared of. Its really not proving your point. FF11 had 1 craft per class and the prices where way to high..... thats not what i want again. Also the metria system wil make crafts to useful plus the repair system.
Only those that require exceptionally rare ingredients. At least on my server. Over here, R50 weapons go for an average of 50k. If you call that "crazy"... >.>Quote:

The only things that sell high are hq items. All nq items are dirt cheap and are pretty much throwaways. As people continue to play the game there are going to be more and more people who have all crafts leveled. It is inevitable. As people cap all of their battlecrafts there are only 2 ways to go. You can gather or you can craft. Eventually as people run out of content they will look to crafts. Having everybody doing everything will be bad for the economy. Keep in mind that I did say mastery of 2 crafts. I believe mastering 2 different crafts would be just right to avoid ludicrous prices due to lack of supply as well as to avoid dirt-cheap prices caused by oversupply.
*** To be honest, The wording of your options will cause this poll to mean nothing. The options are being given subjectively. Do you want delicious tasty ice cream? or do you want a dessert that'll make you fat? The choice is altered depending on the way the options are presented.
Which is exactly the intention of polls like this asking public opinion on a specific topic. You tailor the questions for the response you're seeking and then announce "See? Everyone hates x!" Then when you look at what was asked, you can see just how big a pile of crap the poll actually was.
regardless to the poll, in the end...isn't it up to SE to decide how to develop their game x.x?
i mean, most of the changes so far made 50/50 of the users happy/sad....or angry?
maybe they have bigger plans for the crafter classes we aren't aware of yet for the future, that require such restrictions?
anyways, i'm not good at reading the future, and i hate community polls, so bleh.
I didn't vote for either choice. I think there should be a 3rd option:
I'm OK with 1 master class, as long as we can still repair all of our own gear ourselves.
This topic is do we like being limited or do we not. i "worded" the thread like what would happen. the tread will not be changed. If you are limited then you will HAVE to make another mule. End the "people are so dumb you have to word it nicely so people can understand my way" talk please.
It's like if I posted a thread and said pick one:
Do you want to be able to level all crafts, but you won't make much money on them due to oversupply?
or
Do you want to level 2 classes and become masters at them which will lead to you becoming wealthy?
I would not present either of these questions as there is obviously a biased opinion in them.
***Why post a poll at all if this thread is "obviously for people on want to rank more than one craft." You post a poll then say that the thread is obviously for one option. Forgive me sir, but that makes no sense whatsoever.
what do they mean by "mastering" anyway? i figured mastering is equivalent to being level cap.
im pretty sure its the 3rd time you said this i wish i can make it clear but i dunno if i can. so ill try it again
IF SE wants to limit crafting to basicly ranking up one craft master/skills/rank per scharacter.... are you ok with that.
No matter what the limit is i dont care i just wonna know what people think.
i know its in translated so it COULD be wrong but lets use out minds here and just think for a second IF it was true.
There is no mastery in the game yet. Mastery would mean that although you can only fully rank up one or two crafting classes, you reap special benefits. You make better items, or more items, or specialty type things. The benefits have not been decided, but that is generally what it means.
