Especially since, no matter how long you wait, you will always get yelled at and cussed out by somebody who didn't feel you waited long enough. Being "polite" is not working out... this content is not worth the hate.
you want my piece of mind? exept rank S monster all the other one must be fate, probleme solved, no more radar cheat, since they will appear. no more wait for people to come, they appear on the map, move your ass dude!
all of this was because they did listen to a part of the community asking back NM, that was an huge mistake!!! too much trouble have come from it! solution:
- daily and weekly from special leves and faction leves
- Special FATE for hunt, level 50 and make all boss FATE award allied mark
- only leave the RANK S like this, but make the hunter npc in the area shout that it did spawn, reduce the gain and reduce the respawn timer.
competition like this in mmorpg is not needed, it don't give teeth to the world, it make it look bad!
Oh geeze, it's pretty obvious that there are some people in this thread that aren't very experienced with hunting. The first two pages complaining about provoke, a mechanic that doesn't even work on hunts, is a dead give away.
I think it's pretty rude to pull an A or S without waiting at least a few minutes. Obviously you can't wait for everybody but you can give people the courtesy of having a few minutes to show up. Pulling the second you see it is just plain greed.
Why can't SE just remove the tether? Monster can go anywhere (not towns) once they spawn. There would be no reset problems. It's not like people can't kill them...
Hunts are becoming a real cancer for this game.
All Square has to do is make the hunt invulnerable for a few minutes after the pull. Give it the vulnerability down buff, where you deal next to no damage till it falls off.
Would still cause problems if people start kiting it across the map.. it will despawn/blink in and out a lot more than they do now due to render priority and people will still complain. This already happens when they change targets or someone opposite of where the hunt is pulls hate. They would have to first fix the render priority.
People could also MPK some players who are just questing or doing something else. Don't think you want to open that can of worms.
A really big bad monster that goes around killing people? Imagine!
>.>
As a gatherer, it would be frustrating sure (esp if I'm on an unspoiled node), but I'd learn to get out of the way and I think it would be kinda cool to see it (and the zerg) coming from a distance.
I thought they had prioritized hunt mark rendering, but when I fought a Rank S the other day it sure didn't seem like it... I'll agree on that.
Start reporting the people that are resetting hunts, that is against the rules. Pulling them early is not (even though it's common courtesy to wait for a bit).
Maybe if Mr. Happy would stop talking for ten seconds he'd be able to get to the hunts on time. Seriously, he's not special, and if someone had told me I had to wait for that guy I would have pulled it just out of spite. Granted, I've never done that, but if he's going to abuse his "fame" by letting people harrass other players just to take advantage of it, that's a different story.
Provoke only puts you at the top of your own ptys hate list.
When I find a B I just pull it on PLD and spam flash until the mass mob of players come. Nobody can reset it with a 30 second head start on hate.
The only thing that I have left to say on this matter is:
SE, please please PLEASE f*cking DO something about this! Day after day goes by and they don't even acknowledge that there are issues. Does anyone know if the JP forums are blowing up this badly?
Firstly, I\\'m probably going to get flamed. My apologies to all.
But I\\'m just sharing my honest opinion.
I\\'ve read what the OP has stated and the abuse he went thru.
Just sharing my 2 cents worth...
1) If a said Hunt spawns, whoever is there, attacks it, claims as per normal, then the Horde appears, the tank provokes it, pulls it out of it\\'s spawn area in order to reset it but by doing this, it triggers all rewards to be void.
Do you think this idea is feasible?
2) When a Hunt spawns, there is a waiting period say 5 minutes before it is available to land the first blow. I know that this will populate the area and more than 50% won\\'t be able to see the Hunt but, in return, this gives a chance to those people who ran all the way, not to see it dead.
Do you think this is feasible?
I don't know why they didn't make this claim/credit system have it were it was a free company feature you chose the rank like normal and then chose how many players are going to participate for that nm it would scale up or down depending on the size of FC party then after you except its a locked party no one can be added. Once in the zone either have a system in place once the whole party is in the zone a timer will go off to spawn whatever NM somewhere in the zone or menu option to activate the hunt, but you have to find it still and shoot even after you defeat it give a rare chance to be given an item that would force spawn another nm maybe somewhere totally different zone and actually have to use that npc to help locate your next target.
Provoke does not work on Hunt mobs; they have the same resistance to it as FATE bosses (there's actually a little "Resist" pop-up text on the mob when you use it). It was done to prevent the issue of troll tanks provoking a FATE boss at 5% and resetting it; this adjustment was made towards the end of beta if I remember correctly (you actually could provoke them way back in the day). The OP likely pulled on a non-tank job, and the resetting tank was able to snap aggro over him fairly quickly is my guess.
1) i see people get really really angry, since it will make people need to wait the next respawn, worst i see some troll coming.
2) pointless if no one find it in the 5 minute anyone can pull.
actually all the trouble it's because they have try to please some player and make it like it's not a FATE, when the FATE system was perfect for this. what it's sad, it's with the FATE system they will be able to adjust the hp of the monster each time he is killed for make it harder in function of the number of people that did come kill it last time.
however it have a big flaws, why make a monster give 5 allied seal ask a whole alliance for kill it.
this whole mess it's really annoying, if they had only added S rank monster and use the FATE and leves for the other one... all of this will not be there.
I feel the Hunts content introduced was a wrong thing to do. It seems to be a wrongly calculated move. I'm hopeful Yoshi is looking at different ways to adjust this Hunts content. It should be enjoyed by everyone on an equivalent gaming experience.
I'm not disagreeing, but the reason why their aggro radius is so small is because they don't want "innocents" to get randomly killed by them. That's what they were implying anyways and probably the same reason the tether exists.
I mean, big bad monster roaming killing people ok, but I'm not sure big bad monster being pulled around by a party of players that feel like trolling killing random level 20s by dragging telegraphs on top of them would be ok in their book considering the current design of hunts.
Mister happy is the Justin Beiber of FF XIV:p
In all seriousness we're gonna need the chat log from that day because odds are your "self defense" was degrading into flame wars that would have earned you a whack from the banhammer. And having evidence that disproves that would really help your case.
Yup - I totally agree with you on the fact that no matter if it's longer than other, and like you I skip those that swear a lot (no need at all) and if they skip phases.. well, next vid please.
So My. Happy is helping the community, and thank you for that, versus us or anyone that don't devote their time to do it. Kudos.
The point I made was if what the OP said was TRUE (which there's no way to find except by the people who were there, Screen Shots taken when someone said to wait until Mr. Happy is there - and GMs) to wait until he shows up - while being told by FC/LS mates.
And like for everyone - pointing no one in particular here - it's easy to be within a LS that some might use apps, where you don't so you are excluded, and untraceable.
This Hunting stuff got out of hand from SE, and they might be stuck in limbo about what would be the most appropriate thing to do.
Whatever they choose to do, we have 2 sides that will rage. Catch 22 I suppose.
I mean come on, Allied seals for glamour stuff i'm all ok for it.
But Myth, Soldiery and getting sands/oils, that's pushing it too far.
I understand the game was with the intent of the Casuals playing, even as newcomers from 3.0 said yesterday in the Live Letter, and that the hardcore community is the minority (or so it's what they say) but how can you explain them being on hunts, when they should be running SCoB lol (it's evident that hunts are too-good-to-be-true)
Working as intented I guess..
I never LOLed so hard. "Its that damn Mr Happy again!" "Zomg his zerg just palled our NM!!"
The Happy streamers all know that he hates Hunts and that this story here is just an NM troll. Keep up the good-work happy we all appreciate the simplified guides that are right to the point.
I actually just had a grp reset an NM on me.
I am fine with this for allowing other people to get credit.
However, with that said... It is complete and utter crap that if you have claim on something because no one was around or maybe a few people are around, that a group can just come in> take hate > reset mob > You get partial to no credit from the kill.
There is nothing wrong with hunts. And before you rage about my opinion, I believe the problem lies with the gear grind.
If the armors and seals from hunts also came from leves, fates, dungeons, in unlimited supply and well time balanced, the "hunt problem" would go away because everyone would do the content they like the most. I think instead of the entire server, you'd have about 2 FCs per server out focusing on hunts because they like to look for open world monsters.
So add seals in good numbers to the rest of the activities and all solves itself.
Not really. A big part of the appeal of the Hunt is actually doing them as intended. Zerging the Hunts in a manner that makes even S ranks die in a span of seconds (and sending that mass amount of players after a B rank) is not the intended means of doing the Hunt. Mind you, despite saying the "intended means", it doesn't mean that just because people are doing it that way, that it's wrong they're doing it the way they are now. Clearly it's not, although it does cause problems. It basically means it's impossible to experience the content how it was meant to be experienced, no matter how hard you try, without a huge variable of radar users and legit players scouring each zone 24/7.
On the rewards end, which is what a lot of current 24/7 players are taking part in, yeah... adding seals to the rest of the things like Daily/Weekly Hunt/leves/dungeons/etc would help a lot. But the speed that you can accumulate seals farming B/A/S elites is just way too good that it would have to be significant amounts added to the others to deter people.
How to fix the hunt? Isn,t that easy? Just drop the ilvl of new allied seals gear back to ilvl 100. There, fixed.
Hunt mechanic is fine, it is just too many people want to get it at the same given time.
if too many people try to use it, it means something is wrong from the start, the mechanic is good if small group of people only do it.
rank b is for 4 people, rank a for 8 people.... they are done by group of 20-40 player, sorry but it loose all it interest. it don't give teeth to the game, don't bring anything interesting too exept more trash-talking and drama. and why this? because some people want to compete via who gonna get a target first, this sort of bragging right that have no other value that flattering ego!
NM was good out of the game, FATE was made because they didn't want to deal with the trouble of the NM...
however, they have decide that FATE was not good, because people was saying it's not open world content. it's stupid!
What do you think of the idea(s) presented here? http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Hunts-for-Good
sadly it will solve nothing, it's nothing more than a band aid for a broken system not adapted to the game.
the hunt into this form is a major failure.
when you see monster that are normally aimed for a group of 4 killed by pack of 20-40 player, it means the feature is a failure... why do this happend? because the game don't have enough prey for the number of player.
why did they do this? because player did scream against FATE, people seems to believe they hate too leves systeme, when use this two system will have avoid all this trouble.
why people don't like them? because they see it like instanced fight... seriously if open world content look like Zergfest we don't need it! no risk involved and huge reward.... the worst is yoshida and him team think it can work! because japanese have less drama... but FF14:ARR is not only a game for japanese, but for everybody in the world!
You either didn't read his post or need to learn more about hunts yourself.
The point he was trying to make is that after the NM was reset, it was zerged so fast that he didn't get credit for participation. Had they not reset it, he would have surely gotten credit because he was the first to find it, pull it, and had a sufficient amount of participation built up.
Mister Happy actually did a video recently about the hunts where he addressed the "We need to hold the mark for mister happy" is lying:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31TogQQiotU
So people claiming to hold a mob for him are not representing him.
My years of FFXI have me doubled over in laughter at this whole hunt situation. If you've ever gone for your Black Belt or helped someone who has, you will just /facepalm at all the QQing and move on.
It makes me wonder where all these people are coming from? Is this really what the MMO scene has turned into? Sad... really.
