Stop being such a whiner.
Everyone is on the same level, so only skill will separate.
Think about it.
You spent 3 months to get your novus weapon, hours farming fates, doing brayflox, killing thousand enemies around Eorzea and get your weapon.
Then, after all your effort, SE choose to remove novus weapon because are powerful and broke the game. What will you feel?
I spent one month and half, people did fates and brayflox farm and i played pvp 4 hours or more each day. Now, all my efforts is not rewarded in frontline because the pvp gear is useless.
Ok, we have wolves' den, but, who will queue again? A new player will go to frontlines so queue will be more long in wolves' den and players focused on pvp are a few compared pve.
I don't mind the no morale bit but they should also add a item level cap to the wolfs den to avoid pve gear being so good for tanks and dps (not ranged).
New healers have issues because the damage is extremely high. The cause is nowdays almost every dps runs around with 110 weapons or high allagan ones + coil gear.
Tanks and melee are usually ignored so they can wear pve stuff without issues and this problem will be bigger when new pve gear comes out. Also de item 90 gear should be more cheap... I don't know why they keep it this high.
Removing morale and giving us item lv sync will help the people get in to pvp... I just fear that maybe people will stop playing arenas and just do frontlines.
This thread lol, if this was SE plan all along then why the hell even design and put in pvp gear. I spend all this time and gill investing in my pvp gear for frontlines to be like this, if it really turns out to be no morale in frontlines it'll be a slap in the face for players like myself who did this grind to stay in arena so our gear could see its full potential there. BS i say, i'll still play frontlines but the lvl of play i was expecting to be playing going be dumbed down just to cater to these newbies. Such a let down this will be SE plz dont let this frontlines be like this plzzzzz.....
The high damage is not necessary fixed with item lvl sync, remember we, as pvp player, have got morale to help us versus full pve players.
And yes, i have the same impression when i think frontline will do useless and reject wolves' den. So, where will i use my pvp gear? Waiting 3 hour to wolves' den is unhandle.
The joke will come with Duty finder.
how much time will we wait before 72 people click "START" ? xD
we allready need 3 to 10 try to start an arena with only 8 player...
remember CT, when you need 15-20 "pop" to get in ?
Frontline will be 3 time this xD
Enjoy, after waiting hour for arena, we will wait hour to have 72 noobs trying to click "START"
Front line looks like a 3 way Arathi Basin, that's gonna be fun. We don't know for sure exactly how PvP is being done, are we getting BGs (as in more than one), and arena style (with ranks included)/ I wish Yoshi would tell the PvPers his future vision of PvP so we know exactly where it's headed.
However acting like spoiled children isn't the answer, ask for the future planning of PvP in the game, because this doesn't resemble the frontlines he describe back in 1.0.
Thx SE. I lost six months ... Bye all x)
I'd also like to clarify that it's not so much the loss of morale stat, as it is losing the hard-worked PvP gear. If they decided to tweak morale to be more fair, they also need to include some type of advantage to PvP gear over PvE gear. I think that most people who disagree didn't spend months in wolves den grinding gear under the assumption that it's PvP gear to be used in the highly teased Frontline PvP.
Also people overestimate PvP gear and morale stat anyway. Seriously, an ilvl70 pvp geared player versus a ilvl100 player can still win. I also know of a R30 healer who played in PvE gear and did extremely well. I got paired up with him often.
Because your inexperienced in pvp and you assume we have this ungodly advantage you seem to think it's fair that our rewards for PvPing mean nothing. We usually beat people like you because we're skilled in PvP *gasp* we actually play it.
Also, I do feel entitled to my pvp gear. It's not whining.
I"m sorry, but i've seen the same point of 'it's all about skill, not equipment' which i find to be completely crap. If I PVP my GF (R1) against me (R17) in lvl 30 PVP (where morale has NO EFEECT due to lvl sync) I will still destroy her due to the enhancements on my PVP abilities. So please stop thinking it's all about gear. SE should have made frontline just like wolves den: lvl 30 and 40 matches were morale does not play a role and the people new to it can learn it, and at lvl 50 let those of use that have PVP gear really cut loose and have fun. So, if you want to make frontline fair, SE had better remove all of our PVP skills and enhancements too.
You guys need to cool your jets, it is way to early to be getting the pitchforks out. Having a form of PvP with no gear advantage so everyone can gear up without getting stomped for a month straight is a good thing. However I can see that the hardcore PvPers wanted this to be the endgame hardcore PvP not the starter version.
How do you know that they're not going to add a ranked queue with morale? You dont. So stop jumping to conclusions and being a bunch of entitled crybabies.
Actually you do have a good point. Originally I wanted to make it known that I dislike the changes that we think we know are coming, and IF it happens then I'll be mad.
However, your right, we;ll have to wait to see it officialy released or more information that leaks out.
For what it's worth, this is how it worked in WoW. People did the BGs to get marks to get gear, then did the Arenas to get better gear. The latter part of that is what's lacking right now. The best PvP gear should only come from Wolves' Den.
People quitting over PvP in a Final Fantasy game of all things is pretty silly though. Anyone who played FF11 knew that PvP was little more than a side diversion. The last thing I think of when I play a FF game is PvP.
Kinda like someone that had their relic in 1.0 and defeated Darnus then had the relic quest change into something that could be done in 2 hours and the white raven earring become a vanity piece. Oh wait that happened but we were okay with it because we knew changing it would bring in NEW players.
I don't play PVP but I will play front lines. Bottom line you assumed ranking up in Wolfes Den(PVP Deathmatch) would carry over to Front lines (PVP objective) and want to throw a fit now that you know it doesn't and all that time spent win trading accounts for nothing.
I'd prefer no PVP in this game period because they had to make gear stats bland as shit in order to accommodate for that aspect of the game.
Assuming all pvp players are wintraders is like think all pve players are carried by FC selling runs.
Ok, Spent one month collecting Alexandrites, spend money to level the glyph to get your 40 parry in your animus weapon.
After that, without a notification, just a live letter, you will have notice you will lose that parry in your gear if enter in Third Coil.
Your curtana with 40 parry and 20 accuracy, lose all the parry. But not only the weapon, all gear you have.
Outside Coil you have got 530 parry, but inside The new Coil, you get 341 (parry base).
You spent 2 month farming Second coil for nothing because all that gear is useless in the new content to help you.
Do you see the comparison?
Protesting? Really? What is this?
This isn't the Boston Tea Party, it's a video game.
Again, happens to PVE players on a regular basis because we spend months grinding gear only to have the fight nerfed and restrictions removed and again, you assumed that PVP Deathmatch stats would apply in Large Scale PVP Objective, which are two separate types of PVP. I am going to type it in cap locks and maybe you will understand. THEY AREN'T TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM YOU, YOU STILL GET TO USE IT IN PVP DEATHMATCH... If this was a 3 way Deathmatch type content you'd have a leg to stand on, but it's not the continuation of wolves den.
yes, lets drive away all the people the people that want an even playing ground so you can have a stat and feel special? Wouldn't see any long queue time complaint threads then would we?
Would you guys be fine with it if they made it so everyone could get to max PVP rank in a week?
That's a false dichotomy. It doesn't matter if this is arena style, battlegrounds or dueling. Saying that PvP gear should only apply to arena is like saying that you shouldn't use High Allagan gear in a Primal fight. YOU STILL GET TO USE ALLAGAN GEAR IN COIL! NO ONE IS TAKING ANYTHING AWAY FROM YOU!
You may agree that Frontlines should be baby mode stepping stones for people who want to dabble in PvP while waiting on their FC mates to log in for Coil, but for people who've actually been looking forward to this since it was announced get very little out of this arrangement other than a shallow match with no rewards. We feel like something has, in fact, been taking away from us because we had been led on to believe that our Wolf gear (PvP rewards) would apply to Frontlines (PvP battlegrounds). How could we have been so stupid for making that assumption?
Get rid of the care-bear, Barney style break down of PvP for casuals. If they dont like the advantage given to players who've spent loads of their own time to rank up and grind the gear giving them an advantage, they can stay away from it. PvP is a niche group as it is in FFXIV. Why the hell should you punish those people in a futile attempt to bring in more casuals who will just end up quitting PvP after a week or two anyways?
you guys are still crying about something you dont know about, yoshi p wont do something that radical, just wait and see what it is going to happen and then complain if you dont like it, but why complain now.
I never understood people being called carebears cause they enjoyed a fair fight. If the only way I can win in pvp is by outgearing someone else, I always feel "dirty" afterwards.
Give me equal footing and fair fights to win and I enjoy it even when I lose....cause I know the other person beat me fair and square.
I'm just going to leave these here;
I think that's the sum of everything I can possibly say on the subject of PvP at the moment. Honestly I'm tired of posting about it now, I don't want to hate on PvE players, I'd rather welcome them into PvP eventually, but when some of them just continually make strawmans or ridiculous and ignorant claims that PvP balance will effect PvE... Ugh...
Pvp abilities work in frontlines. I am hoping they add in a progression system geared towards things like passive and active abilities, titles and vanity gear.
Things like taking objectives faster, faster movement speed out of combat, innate resistance to sleep, group wide esuna, the possibilities are there for some great things.
There are tons of ways to give progression that still keeps fights balanced between someone max rank or level and a fresh player.
I'm really not sure what to say... You think it's more balanced for some players to be able to resist Sleep, completely counteract Bane, move faster (completely broken IMO) and clear objectives faster, than for some players to just have a minor boost in defense and offense? You would really rather Summoner be completely redundant against some groups, than simply having to push DPS a bit harder and focus on healing slightly more? You'd really rather some people be able to capture the flag faster, than simply have them put up a bit more of a fight?
Can someone please tell me what is wrong with someone having an advantage? If it's an unbeatable advantage, sure. That's an issue, but that isn't what Morale is. Do none of you enjoy being the underdog? I'm by no means a veteran at PvP, but I've been in plenty of matches where the other team had the Morale advantage. Winning those matches is second only to the very rare match that lasts more than a few moments.
I will admit, progress could be achieved through traits unlocked with Ranks, but that really seems to create a bigger problem... If I see a White Mage in their Swan outfit, I know they have an advantage. I can go in prepared to work a different strategy, or push DPS harder. If I go in and they have traits that let them move faster, or resist sleep? I'm completely unprepared for that.
If you're suggesting progression through Rank, then you're obviously not against players having an advantage, because in both cases players have an advantage. The only difference is I can see a players Morale advantage, while their traits are completely unknown to me. With that in mind, doesn't progression through more traits seem to give a greater advantage than Morale? Isn't it more balanced to give players a slight advantage with gear, than it is to leave players wondering why the cannot sleep their enemy?
I agree 100%! I really do and can't stress that enough. But the Wolves' Den was not released under those circumstances and that is the crux of my argument. It was released a full 6 months ago with PvP ranks and gear that promised a competitive advantage for those who worked for it. You may disagree that any player should be offered an advantage over others in a PvP context, but that was not SE's take when Patch 2.1 was released. They gave people the chance to work for six months for that advantage and now they're pulling the carpet out from under them. So I completely understand their frustration!
Looking forward, I truly hope that SE can rebuild our trust and work out solutions that are fair to all parties. But for the moment I really do feel that their decision to eliminate Morale's influence in Frontlines is absolutely unfair given that is a 180 from the six previous months of PvP progression.
Rose, I left and now I'm with players who know how to PvP ( pve players are boring) and to avoid Solo Q. It's dead on Phoenix. I don't mind about moral I just dislike being treated like a cunt. I hope to have PvP rewards at Frontline and not Allagan tomestones of soldiery nor Monture...
Innate resistant means a boost to what you already have for resists, not outright NEVER get sleeped. You have materia now that does the SAME THING.
Group wide esuna? 150 second recast at least, removes one debuff...bane copies 3, so still useful (not to mention instant cast AoE dot smn has)
Out of combat speed? Get to objective faster, literally NOT ACTIVE IN COMBAT.
Faster objective claiming? Normal is 30 seconds, your is 25.
None of those break anything or make a fight as imbalanced as your saying, but they are great perks for serious pvp'ers.
Also, most systems like this gives ranks as titles (which we now see on our names) so if it always uses them in pvp like some games....you see that "Lord Commander" title easier than a swan outfit, and know it's someone good.
That's a really poor excuse. If you wanted to avoid solo que and have people that really know how to pvp you could have gone to Moogle, or hell even Cerberus or Ragnarok.
You choose Odin, almost no pvp players and the ones that do it are sad win traders that are far from knowing how to pvp. I'm not going to say names because it's against the rules but we are a small comunity and everyone know who we are talking about and they are really bad and just get random wins because of having a unfair advantage after wintrading till rank40.
Atleast the traders from Ragnarok stoped playing on random que.
After reading a few post, I love the fact that so many people care; even to see PVE'er take a stand in this conversation, mind the troller. What I feat from FF Dev is that, PVP is a novelty to them. A 2nd class sport in the books. While I am on the fence of being a person who does both. I feel they PVP cannot be like PVE, yet. their is much ground work to be done in the world of PVP. We, like all that must fight an stand our ground, and the lack there of morale, in PVP boast a clear misunderstand in taking 3 steps backwards. While Boycott is our governor, our land lord per say. I agree but I will live Frontline, not like the trinket of playing style you design, but as the next Level in PVP.
Oh look.
SE realized what a mistake they had with the opening PvP system and is beta testing another. Hope it goes better this time.
Oh get over yourself. I played swtor for 3 years almost exclusively pvp and their gear rotation was reset every 4 months (literally, it reset. They would completely remove the old tier 1 gear move the ranked gear down to the tier 1 gear and add a new ranked gear. It's been a two tier system for over two years.) then they added a bolster system which at one point made pve gear on par, and in some cases if manipulated correctly was better than ranked gear. So I know exactly where you are coming from.
But you know what? Reality kicked in and I just realized that I just wanted competitive pvp. All pvp gear did was made me lol whenever I killed some new player from 100-0 without even doing a fuller opener ( case in point the average crit at the time was 6k. I hit some undergeared player in leveling green gear for 14k...He dropped in two globals which in swtor is 1.5s per GCD.) When fighting someone of equal gear the pvp stats are completely nullified. Its completely pointless to have. Progression makes sense in pve. In PvP? Its pointless. It's 100% a negative experience towards new players and veterans are completely normalized in pvp stats so whats the point? I'm not saying there should be zero rewards. Give out vanity gear to show off your rank, or even a mount. Season 1 in swtor had a unique rancor for people who achieved top rank and a unique armor shell as well. That's really all that is needed.
The whole pvp stat is overplayed. I'm past the point of "lol I one shot the newb." So no, I'm not being a troll, I'm just telling you to get over it because mmo's are moving away from the pvp stat. Even WoW is moving away from it taking a note from swtor and creating their own bolster system. Developers are realizing that a pvp stat is not good for pvp, simple as that.
