The paladion warlion mount..

I think I am the only one in the universe who likes the WarLion ;.;

The lack of fidelity hurts it more than anything else.

It's stylized like a lot of enemies in this game (and the series overall really). Very large with crazy muscle definition. Snarling face with fangs baring. A fearsome fiend reminiscent of medieval/renaissance depictions of monsters.
Makes sense to me.

Very much in the realm of Yoshitaka Amano creature designs.

Yeah. It's the same issue with Ramuh.
Making the hair a solid piece helps with processing, but it doesn't look so nice. Especially sense we already have models with more believable hair already.

I would tank all the coils and primals for that tera lion. The other current war lion mount nope nope and nope. Looks like simba had his way with a bulldog. That poor.. poor.. Bulldog

Wow the Tera lion's face and mane look really good. The XIV lion doesn't even look like a lion.

Another side note from this, what's with the stupid solid cloud like hair they use for the lion mane and other mounts as well as Ramuh's beard? It looks really awful. If we can have good hair on PCs why can't we have it on everything else?

I would much rather have Tera's from looking at those photos XD. I try not to look a the face of the lion lol

I'm unhappy with the warlion mount too. It's legs are freakishly short and it's face looks like a wolf with a shorter snout.

If they didn't need to piece mounts together every week then maybe they would actually look good.

let's say if Chocobos were the only mount (Should be) then we would probably have tons of customization options including well crafted armor sets. But people need their lolbehemouth mounts don't they?

It's not even the short legs that put me off, it's those waaaay to muscular thighs and the lack of detail on the mane/fur/in general. As said before: Clay Model.

Lions generally have a "noble" aesthetic to them. The warlion basically ignored that and tried to make them look savage, but look silly and unappealing instead.

The body looks almost like Behemoth. The snarling face looks like behemoth. Disappointed that its pure white. Youd think it'll have atleast a golden mane

It really does look terrible. I hope someday they take a look at fixing it up a bit (a lot).
I have no desire to even try to get this for my Paladin as it is.

I mean, I'm glad they didn't go with "cuddly, adorable" style for the Lion, but it definitely lacks... "something", to really sell it as a lion, particularly something regal-looking enough that a Paladin would have it as their Job-specific mount.

I like the idea of having a savage warlion mount, one that doesn't look all pampered and fluffy.

But that one just looks hideous. The texture quality is just god-awful.

I dont see the problem for a regal looking lion for Paladin, they're not thematically like Warrior (savage/rage) - even if the lion was to look savage, ARR's still looks pretty bad imo. From a distance I thought maybe I'll go for the war lion but once I got up close I have no interest for it now, kind of sad since the mount was meant to be an encouragement for DFing a lot of hard content. Of course imo, and I've seen people ride them so they either like the way it looks or just spent so much emotional work they "want" to like it - pain can do funny things lol.

If they were able to rework it I'd be much appreciated; otherwise, I've already got a bunch of mounts so I guess I just won't do the work to get the mount unless it just happens as a by-product of something else I was doing.

i think they need to redo the model and the animation, reuse the chimera was a bad idea.

It is definitely an artist's choice, but I too am disappointed of how the unicorns/elemental horses look, since SE can very perfectly design horses with realistic bone structure and manes (see Sleipnir).

I don't even want my horse or unicorn to have the badass skin or barding that Sleipnir has (poor Odin needs to stay special, and he already gave away all his armor), but at LEAST I'd love if my mount had the same shape or a real horse. The joints of our horse mounts are all wrong...

Need 1 Behemot body and 1 Chimera head. Remove all accesories from Behemot, put on the Chimera head and paint your mutant snow white.
