Showed up on my YT feed we are getting some exposure from Cole Evyx. This is good.

The tanks aren't even builder/spender besides gunbreaker and very debatably Dark Knight. Warrior gets over 60% of it's total damage from just hitting the "free damage"-buttons (Infuriate, Inner Release, oGCDs that cost nothing) and auto attacks, same story for Paladin except it doesn't even have the illusion of building up a damage resource to spend.
During all of HW Aero, Aero 2, and Aero 3 were all seperate dots. Aero 3 got the axe going into Stormblood and then Aero, and Aero 2 got consolidated when they introduced the evolving abilities to streamline everything. By evolving abilities I mean the upgrade that they do. Ex: Stone turns into Stone 2 when you learn it. Ruin Turns into Ruin 2(Summoner) or Broil(Scholar) when you learn those. All the healers' DoTs did the same as well.
HPS is a terrible metric to judge healers by, whether in this game or in WoW. The more my party screws up so they take more damage, the higher my HPS goes. It's almost never a sign of a good healer. It's a sign of how bad the party is when it comes to mechanics.
Good to know that WoW players are still that dumb.
i think healers should have tank mitigations! and also do 500 potency! We aren't green anymore, we are blue!
Mao gots question. Seems that at this point is clear that SE refusings to helps healers. Is anyones know if this because SE nots want to helps or can't (due to lack of resources or talent) helps.
If you wanna play healer play healer if you don't enjoy it anymore don't play it simple as that. I'll agree we would benefit from more consistent unavoidable damage but this is an interesting way of going about it, but this is silly imo.
So, yes, you can strike, you can get tank healing to be almost zero...
But in return you, the healer, will have to GCD heal way more often than rely on oGCDs.
Also can't wait for the next cinematic to release to completely dissolve any form of strike.
Are you saying that because tanks would lose most of their sustain, that healers would need to GCD heal more often because their OGCDs would not be able to pick up the slack from the missing tank sustain on their own? Because if that's the case, I don't really agree. Healers have an over abundance of OGCD heals right now. You might need a bit more healing in Savage, but I don't know if "way more often" would be accurate.
Or are you saying that in exchange for tanks losing most of their sustain, that healers would need to lose some of their cooldowns, or have their OGCD healing drastically reduced or weakened in some way? Because if that's the case then yes, that's exactly one of the points being asked for.
This is a novel idea, Just DON'T play healer! I think someone should make a thread about it and try to get others on board with that idea, so SE might take notice of less healers playing and consider feedback, maybe add a nice catchy hashtag to get people feeling it, maybe a discord to build some sense of comradery about it? I really wish some people would do that...
I'm not really understanding the apathy toward the healer situation. Unbalanced tanks ruin the game for everyone, every dungeon run. A bad healer ruins the run some of the time for some people, and it's unclear if any particular job or encounter design even affects those players positively or negatively. It's just that simple. Getting the message out here could inspire someone on Twitter to talk about it, or perhaps even someone with more influence.
And if you don't think it's a problem then please inform your dear leader who makes YouTube videos for a living laughing the problem up as the joke that it is. I'd laugh too if I thought dev incompetence was funny.
At least Xenosys gets paid and he doesn't even defend the game. Forum users seemingly do it without compensation for no reason??? This is a well agreed upon problem.
And just to be ultra clear-- yes there are edge cases of tanks and healers who can't get it together even as things are now. Yet time has shown dumbing down the game hasn't made those players disappear. It's almost like certain people are just going to play non optimally or badly no matter what. So make the roles engaging and balanced.
Not to sound rude or try to offend anyone, but your pathetic little 'healer strike' isn't going to do anything aside from be a minor annoyance to players.
Yes, it's agreeable that class balance is an issue. Discussions can be had, etc.
Yes, some classes seem like they have too much self-sustain (or more than they really need), but that's part of the previous point.
But a strike??? This isn't going to work. I laughed when I heard about this, because it's just not going to work. It's a big game, and the majority of players (who are Japanese) likely aren't going to participate in something that only EN-speaking Westerners seem to care about.
Do you expect Japanese, German, or French-speaking players to partake in this??? The endgame raider community isn't so tight-knit that everyone who does it pays attention to what talking heads on Twitch, Reddit, etc. This is a big game that spans across multiple platforms and communities, most of whom don't even bother with the forum.
Also, this isn't your game. If Japanese players were upset about this, then there'd be some merit, since it's their game and it's they who are the primary audience, but a literal handful of Redditors LARPing like this is an Amazon fulfillment center isn't going to do anything to persuade SE to make what are core gameplay adjustments.
Know your place and enjoy the game.
... Speaking of "if Japanese players were upset about this, then there'd be some merit," and apparently not knowing our place and having to roll over and simply accept the wholly dissatisfying state of the game as-is, has anyone brought this to the JP forums yet? I know in the case of the graphical changes, the JP forums have a single mega thread for their feedback. I wonder if there's something similar for job feedback that we're simply missing/don't know about. If so, it may not be a bad idea for someone who can read/write Japanese to make a post over there.
Remember folks :p Even if people being rude, gotta thank them for giving us the traction.
there's no society on the planet where what you just CHOSE to type out and post isn't absurdly rude and hostile. you are CLEARLY trying to goad people into being hostile back to you, so you can feel like you "won" by getting people riled up.
i'm sorry that your life is so unfulfilling that you need to come into the a forum on a discussion of something that you claim doesn't affect you, just to feel better about yourself by trying to start fights. maybe you should go volunteer at your local library to reshelve books. it would be more productive than starting fights on the internet.
Happy 69th page to us
Bandaid fix, why not have these new dps skills for healers, proc on something else instead of of solely tying them to the 2min cd, example; Crit with Glare/Glare III procs Glare VI. Wouldnt need add anything but amother passive. Also yeah dungeon difficulty should really be bumped up if anything they can ease the difficulty with npc runs...
Ok I wasn't going to post is this thread given I gave up on healer in this game long ago after maining a heal in 2 other games before FFXIV. But this post got me.
Not everyone that tell people to unsub if they are not enjoying the game are actually being nasty. It is sound practice to not give money to something that is not meeting expectations in a game or in real life.
For example: The hubby and I just dropped our Walmart and Sam's club membership because we cannot in good faith give money to a company that is pulling some of the crap that one is. Does it leave us in a lurch since Walmart is our only real grocery in this one horse town? Yes. We will eat the time and gas money to drive the hour to another city to avoid Walmart from now on.
Money talks to companys far more than protests.
Even so I wish all of you luck in your boycott.
I have suggestions for how I'd go about utilizing the tools we already have to make DT healer damage rotations more entertaining over on the first page as a bandaid fix to hold us over till 8.0. And there is something similar with Glare IV in there, but with Dia tics.
Curious. Has anyone posted this to the jp forums? Only asking cause there is a better chance the devs will see it that way
Sad part when it comes to Job Classes is Blue Mage is the most dynamic when it comes to Healer spec with like 8 actual Healing actions and the rest is all DPS. And every Healing Spell is GCD hard casted. You can actually have a fleshed out DPS kit outside of your Healing Actions which is huge.
Inversely the actual Healers have 1-2 DPS actions and a couple GCD heals coupled with 20 OGCD Healing actions...that you'll never run out of because Tank sustain is much higher then the outgoing damage. Outside of Savage/Ultimate the most threatening thing you'll run into is a Wall to Wall pull.
The only time you'll run out is low level content(lvl50) or if you are grouped with a abnormally bad group which by Endwalker should rarely be an issue.
Bosses ironically hit weaker then random mobs.
Also another idea is you could advertise your healer queue's for gil or something
Huh, I don't remember calling myself a god-tier healer.....
I have been told I wasn't a real healer many times by people who enjoy current healers though. So, nice of you to project, I guess. :)
People keep throwing the lump sum of 550k active players around, but how many of that 550k even plays healers at all? I'd wager that most of that number only play DPS jobs, some may even be one-tricks and they'll never touch a healer job.
Realistically, healer has never been a very popular role. Out of 550k, I'd say that healer mains might only make up less than 1/3, 150k max probably. 169 out of a maximum of 150k is quite a nice number. And that's not even taking into account the people who elect to quit playing healer in DT who also don't have a forum account and don't know this is happening, they're participating too.
I'm not much of a forum person at all but I went through the trouble of creating an XIV forum account JUST to support this thread! So if it caught my attention, then there's hope it may catch the attention of others as well :)
#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
I had a good laugh at this. I can't even. Since we're not japanese players our very fan fests, interviews and Q&A sessions are useless.
Alright guys, time to wrap up and clean the EN forum.
(Also if you havent noticed, there are german and french players in here too. And even some jp players who show up time to time)
Thanks for your contribution.
Ah yes, lets gloss over the fact that I said I think healers should be more engaging, naught but 4 posts before your's, that I am in AGREEMENT with healers needing a better kit that isn't just "Spam your DPS button over and over and over and over and over again, oops, tank lost 5% of their HP better use a small oGCD." You clearly focused on the "tanks require healing skills because bad healers" part, and then assert this ridiculous notion that I watch someone I could care less about? I don't watch ANY XIV Youtuber outside of MTQ for guides when I don't have the time to blind prog the run myself with friends. We wouldn't have the issues of tanks needing healing for themselves if everyone did their job right, but here we are, we have DPS who can't even do simple AoE rotations, healers who don't use any healing and just play as a green DPS, and then tanks who somehow never learned how to press more than 5 buttons.
I wholeheartedly agree that they should stop dumbing down the game, I genuinely hate each and every single update that simplifies a job past the point of necessity, just so they can get the lowest common denominator to play the job. I'd love to revert some of the changes to jobs to give them back their mechanical complexity, it'd return what made this game genuinely fun sometimes.
It's very funny when people think that only the opinions on the JP side matters.
You know what the truth is? Neither of our opinions matter!
JP side have been asking for Kaiten back since removal and they also hate the design of Seraphism, both those things got overwhelming support on their side. Well, it looks like Kaiten isn't coming back and Seraphism will still be going ahead. Also there was that one time where JP players vocalised that the dev team never listens to them and only listens to the EN side.
The actual situation is very likely that the dev team isn't listening to anyone. They're just making changes according to their internal metrics. The only way to effect change at this point is to disrupt those metrics.
Then why are you trying to silence a movement designed around rebalancing the game in alignment with your own preferences? Are people not protesting right enough for you? Doesn't really make any sense.
If you're only in the thread to say it's all pointless, then thanks I guess? Someone made a YouTube video about it already with over 3k views.
Imo, this one of the rarest forms of criticism the forums have ever seen. It's coherent, respectful, devoid of childish outbursts. What's not to like exactly?
I'd like to poke in and point out that this also exists:

And this is before the strike. So... Its a thing that's out there.
