We have an update to the mark marker feature which received lots of requests.
We are developing this feature so that everyone in the party can use at same time. Once you place a marker, the marker will display on other members maps as well.
Also to optimize this feature we are looking into ways to distinguish party members markers to party leaders markers by using different color and such.

Extremely cool, I am quite looking forward to this feature. Probably wont use it much, but nice to have none the less.

Regarding NPC chat message position in ARR.
Previously they mentioned they have to look into how much of the UI can be repositioned. Here's update to that one.

Markers are nice but I kind of wanted a party/alliance white board feature where PT leaders can draw their routes and plans for that instance session.

Every time I joined a party in GW I got a funny line and two circles.. lol good thing I have a semi immature sense of humor XD


A map white board would be pretty cool though - would be really awesome to double up this system such that A it can be used in parties and B you can personally save the white board for things like your own map annotations. Got lost? Ask party members where is the damn cave and then write it on your map lol. If you could share white boards I'm sure someone would take the time to get their sketch pad out and write sexy too.. :D

I'm sure someone can come up with a white board addon seeing how addon are UI base i don't see how it would not work and can be share by other members live but we have to see what type of addon they doing for ffxiv maybe it could work.

Just as mentioned in the letter, all the character make parts will be available from Phase 3. Even at current stage you will probably have hard time deciding on your character. (laugh)
(We already decided on the ratio of male/female screenshots to put in this letter so for Elezen female, will probably show it on the next......)

For above metioned features, we are planning to implement in beta test in two separate phases.

  Beta test phase 1 : Alert feature letting you know your item being sold.
• βテストフェーズ3頃:売れたアイテムの履歴確認機能
  Beta test phase 3 : Feature to be able to check the history of the items sold.

アラート機能は、商品が売れた際にログインをしていると専用の音が鳴り、
売れたことを知らせてくれる機能です。
履歴確認機能は、進捗があり次第改めてご報告します
For alert feature, this one is a feature where it will make a sound once your item is sold and if you're logged in.
We will let you know any updates we get for the history check feature.

Doesn't say anything about what if you're not logged in while the item was sold. I'm assuming like other MMO's it will make the alert sound once you log in but no confirmation from reps yet. (plz talk on another thread, thx)

The english version of the rep response says the sound will be when you log in.

Cool ^^ it's good then.

JP text "商品が売れた際にログインをしていると" translates to 'if you logged in when the item is sold' so I translated that way on mine. If it shows some icon as well would be nice but guessing that goes together with the feature coming in Phase 3

α版の段階で、サーチコメントをキャラクター情報にも表示できるようになっていますので、

At the timing of alpha we had a system where search comment shows up on character information so it's possible to do what you suggested.
However, currently this required you to mouse over the search comment icon on that player so we're making changes to this where the search comment will display automatically without the need of mouse over the icon.

Fernehalwes has already told us that there will be whole sequences of quests that:
- wrap up what happened after we were Athyk'd away to a time rift;
- discuss what beings fall into what categories on the god/demi-god/spirit catergorisation;
- wrap up what was going on in the main scenario quests;
among many other things.

We also will often get replies from him that says "I'd love to answer your questions, but that would be spoilers. You'll have to wait till 2.0". I've actually lost count.

So, yes, LOTS of story and lore alliteration in the realm reborn. And hopefully a lore-specific sub-forum soon.

Seems like Connect On has a scoop interview with Yoshi-p regarding the beta and so on. I haven't left the house yet but I'll see if I can find it today.

It wasn't shown clearly in the opening movie but actually an alarming amount of people survived the 7th Umbral era (Bahamut's attack). To these survivors we, the adventurers who were transferred into the future, are known as "hollow beings".

Behemoth will be tackled via the FATE system. There'll be many steps to go through in the fight to defeat him. Made it so it'll be fun with a large number of people. Will be in at launch.

You won't be able to just "walk" right into Crystal Tower. (I'm assuming this means there are pre-requisite quests)

Sahagin's will be in at launch.

As regions expand they will probably add more primals per new beastman tribe or something.

As for changing jobs in dungeons being possible or not, they're thinking it'll be good to be able to change in between content.

Players who have come from 1.0 and new players will be treated differently by NPCs. It's not a big difference and it will even out at later stages in the story. Legacy players will kind of be having the "stronger new game" kind of thing going.

Some other stuff was talking about the functions of the smart phone application.

Oh, and a question was asked about DRG having a pet, which was replied to with "Not just Dragoons..." (Hmm. )

Regarding keeping in touch with the users: For In-game purposes the development team are going to establish a free company. He encourages players to come give them a belting in PvP. As for out of the game, they're considering some kind of small round-table events and so on (ala. Vanafest, I suppose.)

When are flying mounts coming? - If the Ahriman is good, it's just a matter of being on the stand-by list for implementation. (I'm not sure this means it's a "real" flying mount)

Any other secrets from A New Beginning trailer? - The warrior left something behind 5 years ago (Bravura lol)

Urianger was a temporary NPC and is taking a brief break.

Just want to point out in case people don't see on the same level as me: "There's no certainty that the long raids will see completion in 2013 though." the word used for completion is interchangeable complete/conclusion. So it basically means there's no certainty that the raid will be concluded in 2013 (as they are set to be long/challenging endurance style raids).

うつろな存在 was what they used. You can translate it a few different ways. Empty beings, hollow existence, ladida.

One of the alternate translations was "Empty", so he did mean "Hollow".
