I just went with the values put on Lodestone, so could be slightly faster depending on Sk.Speed
I'm not a DNC main, but have a firm understanding of the tooltips and rotation. As you probably already know, activating Standard Step locks you out of all your other GCDs until you execute Standard Finish. The steps don't cause damage by themselves but rather pump up SF's overall potency along with the damage boost it gives you and your dance partner. Assuming you perform both of the required steps, the 720 pot and the 5% damage boost is applied when you execute SF. This is when you will see the damage and the DMG buff register in the chat log.
Furthermore, I had some confusion with this tooltip that you might share, and that was whether or not the bonuses are applied to the initial SF being executed. The answer to that is no. They will be applied on your next SF, but will be given to your Technical Step/Technical Finish which you will immediately do following SF.
The idea behind mechanics like this is the non damage GCDs you use are returned to you when using the actual damage skill. WHM Afflatus Misery and NIN Mudras are other examples of this.
I just got out of World of Darkness, and I am so sick of the sound of Eukrasian Prognosis now. Because the SGE in my alliance LITERALLY cast it every GCD. I watched them cast it FIVE TIMES IN A ROW while everyone was full HP. Followed up by FOUR NAKED PROGNOSIS CASTS and then ANOTHER EUKRASIAN PROGNOSIS. Like oh my god. And this went on the ENTIRE RAID.
I detest the sound of most GCD aoe heals in general because I've heard them get spammed so many times. If I could turn off specific sound effects, Medica II would be the first to go followed by EProg.
In my recent MSQ roulette I had a WHM that just spammed Medica II during every boss fight and even SC it on the run between cutscenes. Nothing was happening, everyone was full life and they just spammed 4 Medica II in a row, ran from left to right and back, spammened 3 Medica II in a row and so on. The entire 40min that is Prae. I was one step short of turning off game sounds.
The worst offender by far are WHMs but many SGEs really fight for that 2nd place in being the most annoying and ear bleeding-inducing healer.
Only because I don't hear it nearly as often as I hear Medica IIs. And I didn't say I want to keep those sounds only that they're not top priority to get rid off :p
I've had a couple of noodle heal spammers in SB/ ShB dungeons when leveling tank but by the gods, that Medica II spam... I had healers trying to heal wall to walls with Medica II.
The only fun thing about it was trying to click off the regen of every unnecessary Medica II as fast as I could. Nice additional difficulty during NM.
Tbf, Medica II does have a higher cure potency than Cure 2 after level 85 and WHM doesn't have the toolkit of the other healers to manage without dipping periodically into their GCD heals so I can at least forgive the occasional Medica II but spamming it is annoying.
I'm aware that the total potency of Medica II outclasses Cure II at 85+.
But you don't heal a wall to wall in any dungeon by spamming Medica II. Period. There is absolutely no excuse for it. None. I'll not bend over backwards and make mental gymnastics to come up with reasons why those poor WHMs might have thought it's a genius idea to spam a heal with initial potency of 200 (in the dungeons I've mentioned) and constantly clipping their own regen.
Medica II ONLY has a higher potency than Cure II at 85+ AND when you get close to full duration of the regen instead of clipping it by spamming. Since neither was the case: no excuse.
And making Medica II with full duration stronger in single target than Cure II was a gross oversight and it encourages to just put on regen, Medica II and spam Cure I while pretending to be so busy healing instead of using more useful skills.
It's like Freecure 2.0. Because more traps was just what WHM needed.
I doubt most WHMs that heard somewhere that Medica II is now stronger than Cure II will take the time to see where it applies.
I'm honestly in favor of just sticking 30 second cooldowns on basic aoe GCD heals like Medica and 60 seconds on the big ones like Medica II. Tweak Ultimate and 4th boss Savage if necessary. 1000 total potency on all players with no cooldown is ridiculously strong and mana or the miniscule dps loss isn't much of a limitation, which leads to players leaning on GCD heals as a crutch and not bothering to learn or even use most of their toolkit. Why would they when spamming the same few GCD heal buttons works for them?
GCD heals are simply too strong and always available, so it's no surprise inexperienced players just blindly churn them out.
But then Regen has a higher potency than Medica II, so if you're looking for a HoT you use Regen and if you need an immediate "tank is going to die" heal, you still have to Cure II.
99% of the time it isn't a split second calculated decision that both the tank and group need healing but the tank will survive with a HoT. It's just blind spam in the vague hope the HoT will do something if damage happens, or worse, just pressing buttons to try and pretend to be useful.
Thank you - great to know it's way better to cast when the buff is already up and be even more careful not to ever let it fall off, since that's our highest damage outside of our 2 minute dance. More knowledge is always helpful (so I hopefully am never the topic of one of these stories in here haha).
Lmao I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had a dungeon the other night we struggled in because when things were going south, the SGE only used E.Prog or E.Diag as a solution. I was in a P3S prog the other week too where the whm stood center on ads phase and kept spamming Medica 2.
I forgot to turn on stance, we wiped, healer left immediately.
We clicked look for new healer button, waited 40 seconds, got a new healer and cleared dungeon without incident.
Not a word was spoken about it.
Got E7N from roulette as a GNB. For some reason my brain just decide that matching colors would make sense. And apparently both healers also made same mistake. We wiped once. Second attempt things went ever so smoothly. That's definitely an embarrassing mistake to make.
I still get the annoyance though. Just now I got out from being paired with Medica II bot WHM in E8N which I queued manually as an AST for a glam token & hopefully the orchestrion...
Every instances of damage happening? Medica II. They ain't even letting the ticks do its magic. Absolute Zero? Medica II 3 times in a row. Light Rampant? Medica II 4 times in a row. Absolute Zero spam before intermission? Medica II---no wait, they can't. They ran out of MP. I don't even saw Thin Air. They typed in chat while the Gaia's scene was playing: "Haha sorry, I can't heal without MP xD".
Oh Lord, how it pains me to notice all of these.
I'd like to hazard a guess that not even these Medica II-bots realize that its total potency is larger than a shot of Cure II. They use it because it looks comfy/wowza, requires no target, and just hope for the best.

wanted to share this screencap I took a couple days ago from the 3rd nier raid lol, beautifully captioned in my channel with, "haha.. would never do a BLM so wrong like this.. just japes.."
I'm tanking Bardam's today. Things go well enough. The healer calls for a pause just before the final boss and stays yalms away from the boss area. I stand just before it.
The DPS proceed to hop around the edge of the boss area. One isn't really sticking to the edge though and eventually aggros the Yol. Hilarity ensues as quick work is made of the first DPS, then the other eventually gets wrecked, but not before I get invited to move to the sealed area. (That's a big no from me. :D )
Healer comes back "Did u engage lol"
Today I learned that it is possible to survive a nearly-full Blood Rain in Haukke Hard if you quickly cast group shields and Kerachole. Granted my butthole puckered right before.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...62/spoiler.png
Our Sage in this Praetorium run took it upon themselves to spoil what happens in the final zone of Endwalker. We immediately filled the chat with ridiculous and obviously-fake spoilers, because it's that spoiler, the one that sounds fake without context -- but I sure hope SE gives that player a few days' time out. Spoiling the final stage of the story arc is absolutely not cool.
So that was a close shave...got Seat of Sacrifice trial for my Trials Roulette as GNB, I've never done it as tank before. Last second use of the LB3 saved us from wiping after the QTE. And I mean LAST second. It triggered just in time so that the buff indicator was going down the screen, and was probably 1/2 down it's path, as the LB that would have killed us went off....
I was the derpy one today. Did a random dungeon as a tank for the first time. Since I'm new at tanking I wanted to be properly prepared. I bought some new gear, found some fitting food so I bought and ate some Flatbread... and to be sure I was prepared, I activated Iron Will before the dungeon started...
Cue facepalm when I learned the hard way how Iron Will works in dungeons.
Having to clear one fight to get to the next is pain in pf, per usual '' P4S P2 act 2 onwards practice '' in reality = '' P4S pinax meme group ''.
You're not even really practicing the actual fight itself that you want to practice lol.
First group today was still a bit memey at first but we got to P2 at least and I got some practice in on act 2 and saw act 4 at least.
Second group I join someone immediately goes on smoke break and around 20 min later I was like nah and joined another group that only needed 1 dps.
This was for P2 Act 2 practice onwards.
Lots of pinax memes, and even Bloodrake memes...
And also I died constantly to no healing at all on me I dunno what the Healers were doing.
And this is what my chat was getting spammed with ( tried to ress and then had to move and the macro got posted again + ressing other people ).

Ehm...
I don't really care about macros like these they don't '' trigger me '' but it seriously distracted me I was just so baffled by my chat that I didn't even see which platform was safe on the orbs.
I left that one too many memes and it also wasn't just the macro either they were at least 4 statics I think they had the identical glam and weren't taking it seriously at all in chat.
The other tank lost his patience too and left.
The fourth group I joined we got to P2 then a DPS left the instance to refresh their Ventures LOL...
I've never seen that before I thought the DPS was joking but they weren't they actually wanted to exit and reset the whole thing just to refresh Ventures.
People got kinda mad and left the group disbanded.
I'm one salty sage after a random Pharos Sirius normal run on roulette.
To the WAR tank that I just had on my alt SGE in Pharos Normal: you have a thing called aggro AoE combo that you must use if you want to get mobs off the rest of your party. The entire run you never used it, neither did you use Provoke or Tomahawk. You're level 80...you should really know better. It's why we wiped on the first boss because I had near constant doggie aggro along with the dps. I can't sustain 4 people that take constant damage as SGE. I can't quite heal you if I'm dying myself due to constant aggro.
There were points where I had to kite and LoS mobs since you did not bother to Interject or grab them off of me. Please. That flashing bar means you can Interject them and stop it from going off. You WILL NEED TO DO THIS in the 73 dungeon, as the Fuath will give trash mobs ball-crushing damage that can be dealt to you. If you don't, your healer may end up sniping you from 1k meters away.
If you're also still having lag issues after the run, I'd suggest reseting your router or check your computer if it's downloading anything in the background.
To the BRD in the same run: you have a thing called Songs that can be used to help everyone's damage output. They're amazing, if not mandatory to make runs smoother for everyone. You were also new to the dungeon but did not speak up. I saw the message at the beginning but it never says who is new. You are never the exception if you're new and don't speak up about not knowing the dungeon. If you speak up, I can guarantee people will be more than happy to help you with the mechanics of a dungeon. They probably won't help you with your rotations, however, as that's something you're supposed to know and look up yourself.
You never spoke up until the second boss' wipe when I realized you were the one cracking open the eggs. It's why I sounded upset because you caused the wipe. I cannot heal overkill damage, I cannot heal dead when I am dead. It's also why I had to sit there and type out the mechanics for you.
This was also the point I realized the WAR who didn't know aggro aoe combos was 80...as they were the ones that said they were level 80 and asked you what level you were.
To the NIN in the same run: just remember to keep your Huton up and use your Trick Attack and you're golden.
Christ. My biggest issue with these is that they take too long to read. Use all the sparkle text you want in normal content, but in Savage, the less information your cohealer needs to read, the better. My macro is just {Raise} <t>. It's multilingual, it gets the point across, and it's short. Don't even get me started on the ones who have a sound effect in their rez macro.
Yeah it kept getting spammed constantly which I found very distracting, I like the chat to be clean unless it's a callout as a reminder ( which pinax is safe on orbs for example ).
My eyes just registers the blue text and goes down to read, I turn off all other chats and have it on party only for that reason.
At least I got some more P2 practice in with the most recent group again.
I feel like Act 2 is the hardest at least based on the guide the others seem simpler to me, and I think I got a hang of Act 2 in this group.
The problem is just actually getting to P2 lol, almost every group ends up with tethers being a mess on towers or pinax wipes.
P4S isn't nearly as intimidating as I thought tho.
The Healer in question didn't have a sound effect but they had bongo drums on the countdown and they all wore the same pink sweater with the pyjamas pants and hat.
And they were also messing around in chat a lot it was very strange especially in the last floor of the Savage tier.
It became kinda overbearing when half the group was like that and you were actually trying to get to P2 and prog.
lol we've all been there. when I first came back to the game, I qued into a dungeon as PLD and kept turning iron will on and off, completely forgetting it was a toggle skill. I swear the people that ran with me must've thought I had like 10 iq doing that lmfao. lucky that they were understanding since I was a sprout and was just confused on figuring out how to play
I had the smoothest of Qitana runs and used up all my luck with DF for the next months or so.
The GNB used all their mitigation, including invuln with a nice sound macro warning a few seconds before. They constantly adjusted their position to keep all mobs nicely stacked. Beautiful megapulls.
The MNK used Mantra during wall to walls, Feint on tankbusters, Bloodbath and Second Wind whenever they were the only one taking damage.
The MCH stayed in range, patiently stayed inside my Asylum instead of running a marathon around the whole platform non-stop, used Tactician during wall to walls, only ran as far as necessary to turn the tether purple so MNK could keep uptime.
Everyone used Sprint. Pulls got deleted. Everyone brought their mobs to the tank if they had aggro while pulling.
Purrfection.
I'm not sure if I should feel awkward or dirty at the tank's starting comment.

I am getting so close, got act 1-4 down pretty perfectly now in P4S, but on Act 4 they kept exploding and we ran out of time.
I have no clue why we used the Ilya strat and it seem'd fine but apparently not someone must've kept running wrong.
Don't think I'll get it tomorrow before reset dunno if I want to keep pushing so hard, you can push a whole day and get nothing but pinax meme groups and then you just get a little bit of P2 practice late at night.
I am a little surprised it's not harder tho I barely have any practice in P2 and can get past 1-4 quite comfortably myself dunno about the rest tho.
But damn the pinax memes are real lol.
It's also a very hard fight on Healers it seems, because a lot of the deaths are just due to not enough healing and mitigation especially at the end of P1.
It's kinda funny tho how Healers complain about being a spam 1 Job in easier content then you see these fights and suddenly Healers are fighting for their lives lol.
Bad enough is our self-assigned EX1 Safety Triangle (... which shouldn't be necessary by now) dying to every mechanic. Worse is their macros.

Warning for ppl on doing raids.
The big communication problems you will have on PF are hardly about what you are talking about, but HOW you choose to talk about it.
Start prog on P3S, basicly got to FoF couple times and kinda stuck there.
Then get in a group, and we start it, Im main tanking, I keep the boss on middle, tank buster come, 3 dps are huggin the boss butt like really inside his box right in middle, making hard to get the teather, it end up killing two dps.
For me, all good, mistakes happen
Second pull, I pull like always, keep boss middle, now they step back out of his butt so we do tank buster without problem, but then we die at darkfire cause one of numbers get in wrong position.
Its PF, mistakes are common :)
Then one of the DPS, suddenly say "if you dont tank this like you should its my last pull!"
I was confuse, like, someone miss number on darkfire, what i did wrong as tank? there is no "tank thing" on darkfire phase
Then I reply "what you talking about tank, friend? it was wrong number" and he reply "except the part u kill us with teather??"
I was confuse, cause it happened on first pull, not on second, and I kinda get pissed because for me was not my fault their deaths on first pull, they was literraly inside middle of boss target box, and I say "well, dont kiss his butt, stay in his back, its not hard"
Then my "answer" comes from a second player, and I understand what was wrong, "pull the boss north, neither is hard pushing w" and I understand what they mean, that I should be tanking him on north at beginin, talk with a tank friend after this and he explains about meele uptime and TOTALLY makes sense
Since any other group I was conplained about it, and was getting no problem to adds and couple times to FoF, I never notice this "tank mistake" I being doing there!!
But the way this ppl just approach pushing on me, without talk, just ruin it, I just drop.
This would be TOTALLY different, if his approach was different,
no even need to be all soft and cool, just straigh on info, no "passive-aggressive" shit
if his first phrase was more like "hold him on north at beggning so we have uptime"
I would totally say "shit, that make sense, ok" and we would be proggin FoF/FoA now without any unecessary stress
I'm tired of Leeches in MSQ roulette and the people that don't vote kick them.
The instances are long enough when everyone is contributing, why carry the dead weight?
Eek, sorry to the Seat of Sacrifice group I had earlier this morning. I went in for Trials roulette as BRD expecting at most a Stormblood Trial, but uh... yeah. Still not used to this Job too much so I was staring at my bars more than watching telegraphs and tells for mechanics.
