Did you even watch the videos?
Didn't think so.

Auna, melee don't have SOME of the issues, but have some that ranged don't have, I made a video 2 weeks ago to enrich the post I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sND93HHDlQ8
If you've actually watched the video with the bard closely, you can see that the player wasn't out of the weight during it's cast time. If you pause it at the right time, you can clearly see the cast time is over with the player still 3 or 4 steps inside the weight. The damage does not get applied to the player until the animation is complete, which is why it looks like lag.
If everyone was able to record themselves doing this fight and review the video closely, then they would be able to see clearly where their mistakes are.
People get tunnel visioned to easily and lose sight of what the mechanics are. I've notice myself losing focus and not paying attention and getting caught by aoes. When I do pay attention I never get hit by them.
I have not beaten Titan, but I don't blame SE, I blame the undergeared pugs I get grouped with and my own mistakes.
Edit:
They kind of lied about removing animation locks. Animations locks seem to be still there but it's no longer called animation locks. It's more like a positional lock, where if your character is still doing animations that started in the AoE outside of it when the casting has finished then they will still get hit because they are still being registered as being inside the AoE.
I watched this video really closely and that's what I saw. People who have defeated Titan have already come up with a way to bypass this and it is to try to cast another spell when you've gotten out the AoE ability or just dont cast anything at all and just run out of it.
I did titan hard and its one big lag fest but its pretty fking hard with 100+ ms and the 30-50ms built in, the ppl with even worse net wud prob have 200ms and its not acceptablel to make such boss when we get forced to play on shitty canadian fk servers!.
Tried alot of times where ppl just froze and then 2 sec later titan made landslide which was already done and it was poiting at me and i had no chance of dodging that so yeah CYA!... the power of shit servers!
SE GET ME SOME SERVERS IN EU! not 5000km away from EU compared to if they had placed one in their HQ in london or in germany it wud be 400-800km away with 28ms.
And who the fk host 5 servers call them EU and then host the servers on the other side on earth... SE where is the logic in that? even an indie MMO company cud do that better.
I don't know which video you're referring to, but check this out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsHuXAl-bOY
At 6:21 landslide cast begins
At 6:22 player leaves aoe with cast bar at 75%
At 6:24 player is hit by landslide and knocked off
Freeze just after the player leaves the AoE, cast bar is 75% - landslide.

I finally beat Titan hardmode yesterday. I needed to upgrade my ISP package to do it. The default one just wasn't enough mbps down/up to get away with it. Random lag spikes meant I was going to die. Even so, I've utilized the 'cast as soon as you leave the AoE circle' strategy to MAKE SURE I'm out. I also run when I know weight is coming (it's not too difficult to memorize). If your party plans it perfectly, you can all drop a death trap in the center and go safely to the outside after every weight. However... just because I have found a way to work around this doesn't mean I don't think it's broken. I would also like it if getting OUT of the AoE meant you were OUT of the AoE. Especially when it comes to weights -- sometimes when you 'see' it, it is not enough time to get out of even your OWN AoE circle if your connection isn't perfect.
Upgrading ur dl/up wont change anything as u wont get better ping with more dl/up... only fibre or better routing can get u better ping unless u had like 516kb upload and 1mbit dl then u cud prob see an improvement in ping.
There is another way but thats most unlikely and that is when u upgraded they placed u somewhere else which had better routing... but like i said its very unlikely. :D
But if they want to get getting that money they will have to do something about it. Western audiences don't take shit if they don't think they're getting their money's worth, we whinge and whine, and since this whole re-release was to get in more westerners.. well, yeah.
It wasn't about ping so much as it was about stability. My ping is actually pretty good (I'm 8 hours away from NA servers). The problem is... I'm in a household with multiple users -- two gamers, at least 5 separate computers, a PS3, Wii, a 'smart' tv and even a few smartphones. We only had 15mbps down and 5 up, but that was always enough because I never had any trouble avoiding anything else in other MMOs. We simply had too much going through that poor modem and router. I'd get lag spikes as different devices struggled to keep up. Playing this game at the same time as my boyfriend was tough -- he's a a tank, so the fight wasn't too bad for him, but dodging stuff as a dps/healer was super hard on me.
I'm also using cable, which fluctuates depending on the time of day because this connection is networked with all of the other cable users in the area. For whatever reason, my internet would get super slow between 8pm and 2-3am. In 1.0, doing Ifrit (extreme) was doable during the day, but near impossible at night. I'm convinced someone in my neighborhood torrented loads of stuff at that time. I even began monitoring usage from each device when I suspected a visiting friend of leeching my bandwidth every night. I was right but he'll never admit it. XD Whatever it was, upgrading helped my issues greatly. I stopped dying to landslide like a noob. (With a cast timer THAT long... trust me, I wasn't being bad when I ran and got hit. If I do something stupid, I'll own up to it. =P) I now use 50 mbps down and 15 mbps up. This upgrade was long overdue in my opinion.
1. You are a troll.
2. I suspect you are being babysit by people ahah. You probably don't do any damage, you are focusing to put your ass safe and cast 1 or 2 spells. Unfortunately people which make the fight for you have issue because they do make the damage you don't. That's why they get stuck from the bad refreshment, they keep casting. And the game fail to overlook their position.
Do care about making something in battle, then come back. And don't give me the lame excuse "I'm doing something". You can't even open your eyes and acknowledge problem when you see it. Can't expect a fake elitist to do proper gameplay!
Yes i think that's true. I've suggested that a simple way to fix the problem would be for the client to send a position update when the player crosses the AoE boundary, which has the same affect as what you're describing.
It would probably solve the problem for a lot of people.
It almost seems as though we have enough people on threads like this alone that could figure out how to code this better, or network it better that there is no reason we should not hear something about this issue.
P.S. To people saying honesty is bad marketing, it sure is, but silence is worse marketing; Market wise it would be best to come out every couple of months and say they are working on it and post a bunch of BS jargon that will keep people thinking "Ok, ONE MORE MONTH and I am unsubbing!" Instead silence has made people start thinking "Well, this is not going to be fixed, I'm not alone, time to find a new game.". Or fix the problem..
I like the game a lot, and I think they did an amazing job rebuilding it so much better from 1.0.
But I won't be subscribing.
I won't because of the terrible lag and impossibility to avoid AoE and because of the terrible, old, outdated and frustrating RNG loot system (at the moment, I've over 60 kills on Ifrit and 18 on Garuda - not a single lance ever dropped. I know people who have more runs than me).
I will surely subscribe when those problems are fixed.
Until then, I'd play some other MMO. And I hope they fix them before I lose interest and start playing something else.
There's no problem here. Its working as intended. Its not the animation that register hit, its the AOE and the cast bar.
If you're still inside the AOE when the cast bar finish, i'll get hit. Otherwise it will be a super easy game because the animation of AOE move is super slow. You want to beat hard content, just learn and play better instead of making a thread and complaining about how the game doesnt work as you want.
The only issue i see is people want the fight easy, too many casual players think about getting relic weapon is a right and justice without paying hard work. When they're bad they'll make a thread and complain instead of more training and win the fight.
Please stop asking for an easier game.
Uhh, I guess you're one of the people who didn't actually read this thread again are you?
There are pictures / videos that are showing people out of the AOE's while the cast bar isn't finished yet. My God, people needs to stop posting in this thread if they aren't gonna read the
real problem that is happening. Can you show me a post that is asking for the fights to be nerfed or made easy? why do all of you people say we want the fights to be easier? maybe you guys are the one who wants it to be easier since you people are the one bringing this up >_>.
Why are people so Ignorant?
Wait are you claiming that getting the relic weapon is actually something not casual?
Truth is that when you design a game around a 0.3 delay you cap the difficulty.
By having this you remove certain reflex aspects of MMO's.
You simply can't have mechanics that require a certain speed because the server can't update that fast.
We can all agree that if you would remove the 300ms Titan (and other bosses) would be a complete push over.
The poor coding is making fights more challenging than that they really are.
When you are allowed to run before an ability hits it just shows that the DD and HPS check is low and that the mechanics are to predictable.
In some way you could say it encourages 'bad play' since most mmo's punish this type of behaviour by either wiping the raid or making it hard to hit an enrage timer.
A realm reborn sacrifices a lot of fun raid concepts for the sake of server checks, when latency is the biggest challenge on encounters you went some where wrong during your game design.
Latency should be something people should not experience much up to 250 ms.
I've also no idea why they can't sync the cast of bosses, it looks bad.
That said titan with 450 ping is still doable ,if you can run properly you don't even need to pre run.
The biggest issue I've seen on titan has been the lag spikes killing people , caused because of the duty finder being over loaded.
It says enough the queues are so long for an instance, most modern games don't have this.
It's a shame some people still want to talk the latency right, since in the end you are asking for an easier game with less complicated/reflex based mechanics.
Just because it sounds 'pro' to play a game with a build in 300ms on top of your own latency.
I don't have fun with the endgame here. I come away frustrated due to AoEs being overly difficult to dodge because of asinine limitations. 300ms. By design. I'm still unable to believe that nonsense made it to launch. That's just pathetic, SE! On another note.. take a hint from the flop that was neverwinter. Every boss fight there was a single mechanic that burnt people out (more adds) and here 'Dice roll against the red spot and hope you're lucky' seems to be the every fight mechanic. Nice for bards who never have to stop to DPS or other classes that DPS on the go but did you consider the hell us black mages have to endure in your rediculous AoE heavy fights constant movement fights? With 300ms? We can't compete.
From what i see in this game theres 2 problems:
- First: the current bosses are dam easy if theres no delay
- Second: the delay in this game is insane..
Try playing next to a friend, you jump and your character will only jump in your friends screen 1 second later..
I played Raiderz for a long time, and those bosses were hard, you had to know there patterns and always dodge at the nick of time.. but, if you DID dodge in your screen then you also dodged in the server. The game had no lag and was a f2p game.
So i kinda cant understand why a p2p game needs to have 1 sec delay on every action when theres f2p games like raiderz and aion that got 0 delay.
nobody would intentionaly design this into a product, but what they did was copy/paste 1.0 server code base and then tacked on a few extras
the way i see it, there are two possibilities:
yoshida to server lead: the 1.0 servers are crap handle it
server lead to yoshida: yeah we got this no problem
server lead to server team: ok copy paste 1.0 and we can spend the rest of our time on facebook or something, oh and lets not simlate thousands of clients either thats what launch is for
or
yoshida to server team: crap were way behind just use what you can from 1.0 we will fix it later if anyone notices
Another troll who cannot read. Another fale elitist spoiling the forum and not reading anything before positing (you are a drama queen)
Funny how many people stuck out of the aoe and notice it's out of sync. Yet 3 or 4 jerks comes and "oooh i like it this way even if it's broken it's fine by me". When you are affected by a disease you go ask a doctor for medication. You don't stick with it.
Again this post and every post treating the same topic is asking for the animation to be sync with the cast bar! This post and every post about that precise topic asking to SE to refresh the position better than 0.3 sec and to not let those who were casting within the aoe, wipe because the server consider them still casting inside the aoe whenever you are out and the spell interrupted! We aren't requesting a NERF neither to make it EASY. We are asking for a better coding!
Casters without instant abilities are having the most problems with this fight, the same problem is happening in normal mode too. Can people survive the aoe damage in HM? In normal the positonal refresh problem exists too, meaning if you're in the middle of a cast and the aoe hits, you interupt and run however, the server still thinks your in the same spot. So no matter where you are your going to take damage. Due to toxic behavior of other players I spent the whole day getting berated and humiliated. Then I decided to stop trying to avoid the damage, if the knockback aoe happens I run to the center, to avoid being knocked off, the aoe, I try and get to the outside, but I take damage no matter where I am. I just heal through, when I played though the damage it was that point I had a successful fight. If you can't survive the aoe in HM, another suggestion I found worked to was to spam your spells as your running, so the server will refresh your position.
Or you could level up a class with nothing but instant abilities, and run the fight. I remember there were lag issues in FFXI, with claiming mobs, maybe the answer lies with extending the cast time on abilities to compensate for lag and server issues, until a proper fix can be made, I do know a few people have told me they quit being a white mage due to the titan fight. Since the issues is occuring with all modes of the fight, and doesn't exist in the other primal fights, the problem lies with the instance server.
43 pages (and growing) and still not a single word from SE. Calling this situation 'sad' is something of an understatement.
I have problems with Titan plumes. I run as soon as I see it yet I still get hit. I only avoid it if I am already running when it appears.
I don't know what's causing it. The fight can't possibly be designed around predicting exactly when a plume is coming. I do know when to expect one due to the rotation (I have a chart printed) but how many seconds between attacks? Am I meant to count them and run early?
Seems more an issue with latency to me, I'm in the UK so it's quite a distance from Montreal.
This is going a bit off topic but when I look around the forum it looks really bad.
Most dominating topics are about
- Hackers/RMT/Bots
- Lag/delays/freezes/DC's
I just went through some posts.
Just linking a 'few' topics of people having problems with the delays/lag/dc's/spikes.
First topic is SE suspecting P2P throttling, after all so many topics about lag/server issues can't be caused by *gasp* poor coding.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...P2P-throttling
The rest all about dc's/delay/lag and what not.
This is just the tech support and I haven't even linked every topic where people are having issues.
There is an equal amount in the duplicated bugs forum section.
One got accepted but that was 18 days ago and up to now not a single word.
I even skipped the small topics since it's just way too many.

This is one month after launch.
Most of these problems would not exists IF.
- Proper coding so not every one has a 300 ms by default, lag spikes wouldn't be noticed all that much in that case.
- There would be a separated data centre for the EU , less over load.
Most players aren't on the forum so a large amount of the forum posters suffers from lag and delays.
Even in game every time you play you have 2-3 people 'I lag very bad'.
It isn't even used as excuse either.
Does a topic like this really need another 150 pages before Yoshi decides it's an issue and will he actually bother to fix it?
A message to say we understand your frustration and we are looking into it or even better a letter from the producer explaining what he plans to do about it.
Not guna happen this week cause of TGS though, but 2 weeks time people trial is up and they will leave if there is no acknowledgement of this and we will be back to 1.0 numbers.
YES ! customers should pay extra to mask the fact the we have no EU servers and their internal latency is totally shit.
Imo, an easy fix for this would be to have the red circle* animation just show up about a half second early than the attack. E.g. Make it show up as Yellow (It's coming), then Red. If people start moving out on Yellow, they don't get hit.
This is issue is so frustrating on Titan HM...
I have read people of NA with a low ping is getting the issue too, so you can imagine how bad its for EU players with 180+ ms of latency playing on the so called EU servers hosted in montreal... you get the issue that people with low ping is getting plus the latency thing
When you are out of a red circle for nearly 1 second and you still get hit something is wrong, hopefully SE says something about it along with bringin EU servers to Europe.
Well I've learned how to dodge Titan plumes now. Have to be running when they spawn otherwise you're getting whacked.
Bump. Bump. Bump. Bump.
This server issue is frustrating/infuriating to no end, and I can't believe that there is not more rampant discussion about it. How so many people can consider it acceptable is beyond me.
