This, with Balmung too. I have a friend that's been trying to get into Balmung since the second day of Phase 4, and has yet to be able to create a character.

Option to disable tooltip
For the Free Company window, can we have an overview that shows all the classes/levels all members have. Like in the old linkshell community for ffxi. That'll make it easier to organize events. It's tedious to right click info each and every one.
Pop up for procs. (Shield slam proc'd and ready? I need to know!)
Currently it's a massive pain to know if it proc'd or not. I like a tiny UI with a 3x1 block for these skills just
so I know it's available for use.
Also add customization to UI bars in terms of how many in the row etc. I can't stand empty spaces!
I actually agree with almost everything on this list (some don't affect how I play but I can see others wanting them).
This game is highly polished and clean but it does lack a lot of the little things that have crept into these games over the genre's history - things I expect to see in a new and modern MMORPG.
I didn't see the ability to untrack quests on duty list - but it must've been mentioned.
Stats for tooltip compare exist in the game's settings but its dimmed out - which makes little sense. Manually comparing gear all the time is barbaric.
A good list of suggestions. I would also like to see an option to keep my chat box active during cut scenes, some of them are pretty long. An example here is; I just killed Garuda but could not thank my group because i was put instantly into a cutscene and chat box disappeared, by the time my CS was over the other group members had left.
Oh and an option to hide earrings please, i look like Pat Butcher -.-
Some of my own,
Gamplay
-Add <call> placeholders from ffxi so we can alert people who are tunnel visioning in dungeons to an iminent need (hey <call1> Healer is in a bubble)
Chat:
-Add Ctrl-Click name checking so if we ctrl click someones name in chat it lists their class, level, zone
-Add Item linking, so if we have chat open and we ctrl click an item in our inventory it lists it in chat and people can hover over it to get the item's tooltip popup
-Allow us to rename custom tabs (if we can, I haven't figure out how yet)
-Bank & Inventory
-Add Side By Side gear tooltip comparisons. So if we hover over an requipment icon in inventory/armory it shows us it's tooltip and the tooltip of the item we are wearing in it's slot. So if you hover over a helmet it would show you it's tooltip and your equipped helmets tooltip.
-Search
/sea all SomeonesFirstName
does not work, it lists a ton of people and I have to go into custom options and set SomeonesFirstName in the firstname box and run the search again to find them. I would expect /sea all Ryios to list me or anyone with a first name of ryios but it doesn't appear to work that way.
The load priority needs to be changed to
NPC - Party/raid(?) - Red circles - Mobs - Other players - companions - minions
This way on fates/odin/behemoth there can be 400+ players but you can still see the important parts and not the random zergs everywhere and suddenly die to a AOE you cant see, or get nothing from the fate becouse its impossible to target the mob.
Most games will give about 5 minutes before they automatically flag someone AFK (as in showing in-game as AFK to let people know you're away) and then another 15 minutes before they boot you off the game. If what you're doing is going to take longer than that, you can deal with the oh-so-onerous burden of clicking "Start" and then your character one more time.
I've suggested this in the beta forums, and not sure if it's already been suggested here (didn't see it in OP). This is a pretty critical thing for me, since I switch between 2 computers quite often.
- Store hotbar spell setup and armor sets to the server
I can't tell you how annoying it is to have to re-setup my spells and armor sets when I swap computers. This information should be stored server-side (cloud). This can probably also be extended to macro's as well, but the basic enhancement for me that would make life AWESOME is to have saved hotbar and armor setups.
Greetings,
While this might not have been brought up in this thread, I wanted to pass along some information here as this thread seems quite appropriate.
We’re aware that there are times you might not realize you are capped on Grand Company seals and turn in items for supply missions only to find the seals you were given were not added because you exceeded the limit.
While it will be after patch 2.1, we are planning to display a confirmation window indicating that you are going to exceed the cap with the reward you are receiving.
I'm not sure if this was brought up or not, or if its in-game yet.
But be able to see target's target's cast bar.
This is great for healing because I know when to get out of the way from big attacks.
If it is already there then my bad :)
Agree with the others, if the system decides you are AFK after 5 to 10 minutes of inactivity that is too short. If you are marked as AFK after one hour of inactivity, then kicking a player 5 to 10 minutes after this determination is OK. You just need a long enough period of time to allow the system to make an intelligent enough decision as to whether you are inactive or not. Quite honestly if you've been inactive for an hour you're probably not playing actively as it is. If you're sitting idle waiting for friends to log in, you're probably checking back occasionally anyway and doing something that marks you as active once again.
click...hand over...click...hand over....cant the game just take it in one click? like a auto hand over when you click the npc to talk to them, so many fates where you have to hand over something and people pull mobs with aoe (bombs ect) and everyone has to start clicking again, ergh just feels sloppy
click....wait....."interacting".......takes longer waiting for the interacting to come up than the actual "interacting" box to fill....its not a 2 sec, its 4/5secs really
The biggest change I want to see concerns the dungeons.
Get rid of the timers; The timers are unnecessary and add a lot of tension and anxiety to the situation especially if you're trying to learn the fights. It's even worse if you run out of time on an hour long dungeon because you have to do it all over again and potentially fail again.
Add a kick function; Sometimes we get paired with jerks who ruin the game for everyone, we need to get them out of the party asap because they will eventually waste dungeon time and you would have to restart the whole thing over again. not to mention if someone disconnects then they stay in the party while the timer runs down.
Cont...
If you are going to keep timers they need to be tweaked; If someone leaves the party it's going to be a little while until you find someone else especially if a tank or healer leaves. This is potentially a huge waste of time causing us to restart.
I personally think the weakest point of the game is the dungeons. If you're going to ramp up difficulty, increase the timer or get rid of it all together, it adds stress and tension to a game where lots of people play to relax and enjoy.
not sure if this has been said, or if it can be done. but add a option to not show other peoples buffs on the mob's hp bar also to turn off other peoples flying text would be nice as well =)
Not sure if this was mentioned but.... Please tweak the debuff icons on your target. While green numbers for the time left is great to figure out which debuffs are yours, it is simply a pain to keep track of your debuffs on the monster when there are many players. Especially during FATEs it's almost impossible to keep track of them because they constantly change position and you can only get a glimpse of the green numbers.
Suggestion: Display debuffs that are cast by the player always first and debuffs cast by other players behind them. So if I have 4 debuffs on my target I would know that the first 4 icons are cast by me. Another nice touch would be, that debuffs that are cast by you have a bigger icon size so it's even easier to track them. This could be optional via character settings though.
Bit of a bigger one.
Make the checks client side based instead of server side.
This way every thing from clicking an item/crafting/activating and 'instant spell' will be more snappy and direct.
It will just feel less sluggish.
Hello,
I would like to see added here some of the suggestion that we gave in this thread, as I see that this post is being constantly monitored by the devs.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/79890
It may or may not have been mentioned, but please please please!
Allow us to request repairs again - I can't believe that you've decided our only options should be - 1) Level every craft your DoW/DoM might need for repairs or 2) Pay exorbitant amounts to a mender NPC.
Why? If I want to help friends out with dungeons on my high level classes I should not need to carry a trash set of gear for fear we might die.
It sours the experience of trying to help out when your Lv50 weapon breaks in Satasha because you're trying to help/teach a new Tank/Healer/DPS how to play in a group setting.
It also sucks I can't help out new players with broken gear.
I understand the game needs time/gil sinks, but this makes helping out new players - or learning by trial and error - very frustrating and time consuming.
Didnt read through everything to know if its already been mentioned, but its pretty annoying to not be able to queue for the duty finder, or to be kicked from the queue if you summon your companion. This doesnt make sense since most folks are busy questing etc while waiting for the queue which is the perfect time to use your companion.
Whoa, I'm all for the afk kick. but 20 minutes is too short. The idea is to boot people who are clogging the system for 16 hours because of sleep and work. Not because someone went out to let their dog pee, pour a glass of water, or even negotiate certain fc ideas on ventrillo. I still say 45 min is a good call.
Special section for bait/lures as a fisher. Keeping 1½ almost 2 pages with bait is beginning to be a real pain. Not to mention moving them in and out of retainers whenever you feel like fishing is even worse.
I would love to have the ability to sort my bag space by item type. Same goes for the company chest.
Also, I'd like the ability to toggle which quests are active and listed at the right side of the screen.
I'd like it so that someone can't just run up to an NPC I'm talking to, skip through all the dialogue, and thereby cause me to miss the story. This issue occurs with FATE NPCs, and it's just aggravating. Start the FATE if they do this, but make the NPC continue talking as if the FATE hadn't started to people already engaged in a conversation, rather than interrupting it.
Players shouldn't have such blatant power to ruin the experience for others.
I think a better suggestion is to make the your own debuffs larger. Nothing too big, but larger than the other debuff icons. Even if yours are in front the way you suggest it could still be confusing sometimes due to not knowing whether the debuff after yours is one of your own or not since sometimes you are required to look away, and during that time your debuff might have timed out and replaced with someone else's debuff that was the same as the one you had before, thus you mistake it as your own.
ADD THIS TO THE LIST!
Anyone else actually NOT wear earrings just because they can't stand looking at their character with earrings during the cutscenes? I know I'm on the extreme end of the spectrum of love-hate here but really... the earrings really make me wanna hurl. I might put them on for end game if necessary but as soon as I'm out of an instance, unless my head armor hides them, I'll be taking them off again!
Not sure if it's already been said, but please add more debuff slots to mobs during fates, or at least to boss ones. Attempting to dps Svara or Odin as a summoner is a chore, since even if you get them to appear long enough to DoT up, there's a high chance so many dots will be applied in that window that by the time fester registers, your dots have already been pushed off the mob by all the others, causing it to do low or no damage and go on cd (and waste a charge). Could also become an issue in a summoner heavy group in 24m content, but fates are where it's really noticeable. Being stuck using nothing but ruin because your DoTs get removed by other players feels awful.
Even with the increased timers some people still get antsy when running a dungeon on duty finder. I even had people try to rush me when I'm explaining a fight to someone who has never been to the dungeon before. It'll still happen, but the timer corroborates their rush.
I would like to be able to sell things on the market from the board, instead of closing it out, and walking over to the bell, and hope there isnt 30 people standing on it.
To all those who ask for timers to be removed for dungeons or for the difficulty to be lowered please JUST DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. I'm fed-up with fast-food type of mmos and I'm happy that I can go back to testing and failing before completing things in a game! If you don't actually like playing, then just don't play!
I think you're misunderstanding the concept here. People who want timers to be removed do want to play. They want to explore the dungeon, discuss tactics before entering boss fights, etc. They can do more with more time, especially if they're in a duty finder group and will have to start over from scratch with all new players next time.
If I'm new to a dungeon, I just follow everyone else, but if DF puts us all in a group where we need to follow someone else, that doesn't really work out unless we're able to explore and figure out what we have to do. You may be thinking "look up a guide" but many actually want to experience the game themselves, explore for themselves, come up with tactics between themselves and others, etc.
I really appreciate this a neat well formatted list for Devs to read over and see the suggestions the community as a whole have. The Original Poster is dedicating a huge amount of time reading over these looking for quality suggestions so thank you.
I'd love to see one this well done for future game expansion suggestions. a place for ideas on what we would like to see changed or included in the years to come.
I disagree with the ability to talk to NPC's while mounted though. at first I to grumbled about this but then I saw a magitek armour mount. who remembers the days of 7 Elekks standing on top of the NPC you need to speak to. I already have enough trouble selecting the summoning bell for my retainer!!!! an auto dismount when clicking an NPC would be great though!!!
where exactly did the post mention that these were crucial, emergency changes? they are suggestions. no, auto dismount is not high on the list of required fixes. But it sure will make the game more fluent. No doubt lots of these suggestions have already been stored away in the SE to do list.
