We’ll just have to keep pushing for them respectfully in the end. The more demand they see for it the more potential there is for them to be added to 6.0.

It's to be expected. Given the issues the new races are raising for them (things like headgear). The answer leaves a bit of a possibility, but they should, in my opinion, tackle the current challenges instead of making more promises and biting off more than they can chew.

But, if you wish for something still, keep up the discussion. I know I still pine for them.

Disappointing letter; a revisionist CYA/rationalization of a bad decision. And indeed, you can throw money and people at these sorts of problems if you have the will (if you're unfamiliar with the process of software development, there's plenty of writing on product management you can look into to understand how to work the time/money/resource levers). There's no shortage of talent in JPN looking to develop for S-E.

At least we know one thing if they add Male Viera and Female Hrothgar they won't be doing it as child like models.

I'm quite positive that we will get them at 6.0 after his letter. Seems like tey are trying their best and I'm sure they will figure something out

I’m taking the same stance as I do for high res textures and more graphics customisation options - things I want to see but which are costly and will require the demand to be there for them to happen. Getting blackpilled and ceasing to push for these is exactly the wrong attitude to take if you want them.

We were told that there will never be gender locked races again and now all we receive is excuses of well two races with two genders is too hard. Then don't put either in and keep your word. Or do as your doing and lose your honesty.

Seems the choice was made.

I think u didn't understand their response very well. They said they will try to make male viera and female hrotgar, and that they are making the lore allow them as a playable character in the eyes of everybody. This are amazing news and you should be happy! Now there is a very high chance we'll see them at 6.0!

It's easy to say 'how can this one little thing bother you so much' if you're happy or indifferent to the result, and have been happy or indifferent to SE's decisions regarding glamour in the past, but for those of us who have been wrestling with these issues for years at this point, this is a pretty hard slap in the face when we thought we'd finally gotten through to them.

Edit- also notice that the hrothgar has no nails but in the trailer they shown to have black nails unless its apart of there racial gear haha

I have faith that they'll implement the counterparts, considering they worked overtime just to make glasses and such visible on the Hrothgar and Viera. Here's hoping we see them by 6.0! Just remember to stay cautiously optimistic, everyone.

Those people who adjusted glasses in their spare time - aren't they amazing? I wish I could treat all of them with delicious food and few days of rest really.

As for answer about missing genders: it seems they going to keep an open window in lore for them, and implement if it will not break their schedule. It's quite a good response from their side. Not "yes", but not "no" as well. I mean, it's better than strict "no".

We got the response, sadly it was the same as before, pretty much not a "we'll consider it/work towards it" and not a "no" so instead of getting disappointed I'll just not hold onto hope and enjoy the expansion.

But should they one day come out with the other genders, I would be so excited. And I have a lot of faith in the devs, as they work super hard for this community (even to work this hard in their spare time hot damn, I hope they get a bonus).

(also that picture without the black nails is really horrifying, I hope the Hrothgar all come out with their nails lol, cause they look like roe's with masks without the claws lmao.)

They have already explained several times over for their design decision behind the new races, they wanted to give people the long awaited Viera race and a more beast-like race that people have been asking for since the games inception. They also never said that they aren't ever going to give viera and hrothgar their male and female counterparts respectively and I have a hard time believing that they won't.

I think people are too focused on it being a gender locked issue when it's not. It was a time constraint and resource issue. I have no doubt in my mind that if SE had the time and resources to get both genders out for both the races before the expansion launches that they would have done so, If they didn't they would have put in a more concrete statement that they aren't adding the other genders. Just like with the issue with Miqote, I'm sure that we will get male viera and female hrothgar, It's just a matter of time.

EEeeeeem... even expecting 6.0 or 7.0 is.. kinda.. optimistic. At some point the updates will stop. At some point the game will be put in stasis. Lets go with what we KNOW is coming =]

Oh, I was implying that if they ever do start working on them, 7.0 would probably be the earliest to expect them... either as a playable race, or as NPC's.

It's kind of dangerous for them to say literal "yes" sadly, same as dangerous to say literal "no" (and well... saying strict "no" is not Japanese way of dealing with things anyway). With their recent schedule implementing new race already is a nightmare, and if they say "yes" to missing genders they will keep player base expectations very high. In case if suddenly they will realize that it's impossible after all or they have to change schedule for this, it will be a huge slap on them. So it's better to keep an open window in lore and act in a way "well, maybe at one day...".

Knowing Yoshi team, though, I see them doing work quietly and then just show him bunch of concepts and draft models with "So, what do we do?". I mean, look at those glasses, they didn't even notify him. I say it jokingly, actually, but will not be surprised at all in case if they will do so.
