Got destroyed 2 times in DF in t6 , so nothing changed really , if ppl's dont know what to do....

It is fascinating indeed. Barely anyone cared in WoW when previous content got nerfed because they were too focused on beating the current content.

I'm willing to bet that the "nerfs" most people use, counters and all that jazz are completely ok, because...well idk why? Why are those ok, and SE made nerfs not?

OP if your as good as u say u are, then u weren't messing up these encounters anyway. So why then complain that they are more forgiving? All you have to do is go in, not mess up, and hey, u can leave it saying to yourself " I didn't need no mechanics nerf to do it". Sure argue that echo ruins it, but echo only finishes off the damage doing this content in 110+ did already.

Sheesh get over yourselves, 2nd coil is old now. old.

Well FF14 right now is a linear gear progression game which older content getting nerf is bound to happen when newer and better gear contents coming out. This is not FF11 where E.body and byakko haidate last you yrs as bis lol.

What made FFXI unique in its use of gear wasn't that it was necessarily BiS for years. It was the fact you could macro in gear swaps for abilities and situations that made a lot of its gear old/new viable.

People are saying "go do savage", "go do FCoB", etc. Did savage and cleared T13 already. It's about the extremes of the nerfs. Echo itself is powerful enough. I happened to enjoy doing all of the fights and trying to do crazy things and push limits by flirting with death. That's gone now.

Verdict on T6: Complete tank and spank.
Blighted only does 3~4k. Can ignore most mechanics as long as entire party doesn't get eaten, and even then still killable.

Verdict on T7: Cornerstone mechanics that made the fight unique completely destroyed.
Renaud auto attacks 500-700. You can ignore them completely and just let them get stoned by people running around like headless chickens. All you have to do is just deal with the adds cause those still hit as hard as before. Voice/shriek has been utterly trivialized.

The designers of these fights must be drinking pretty heavily right now after seeing something they carefully built torn to shreds.

Don't know if you ever played WoW, but a large majority of people could not beat a raid even on Normal mode until it was toned down. Basically it is the same situation here.

Current Highest Endgame Content = Not for everyone. For the ones that do it. Your peers don't help your cause, especially when they come here complaining about it and...

- Clearly Advertise the Sales of turns for greed (buyers are equally at fault) in game.

- Usage of 3rd party tools: raid calls and visual aids.

Those that complain about Current Highest Endgame content being too hard. Wait til it's dated and adjusted. Plenty of other things to do besides complain about it here.

And it can stay there. Played that game for 10 yrs and I do not want to see gear swaps in combat for 14. Game is a faster pace in combat anyway and the current macro system isn't designed for it and previous Dev Team responses are against it.

Exactly that's why i don't understand why people complain about FF14 old content getting nerf. I wonder what would poeple complain If SE keep the current difficutly for 2nd coil and just add the nerf 2nd coils which drops the same gears lol.

I'm surprised the majority aren't generally unhappy with the nerfs. Shoot me if I'm wrong but, don't most people raid because it gives them a sense of accomplishment? As well as the gear carrying some sense of prestige? Making it easier just greatly diminishes the value of the fight. Raiding is suppose to be the hardest part of the game and should take a great deal of time; it's designed to cater to those looking for more of a challenge. Nerfing it when it's readily beatable seems counter productive.

I feel that people asking for nerfs are misguided. It would be like playing FF7, hacking ruby weapon's abilities and hp so they're weakened, and getting the reward; just so you can go fight emerald weapon (or vice versa). Then you went to everyone's FF7 copy and hacked ruby weapon so it became like yours. Now you've deprived everyone of a good, hard fight. Sure there's still emerald weapon but they have different mechanics and the way you fight and prepare for them is different.

Also no one is saying they want to be a special snowflake. They just want people to clear the fight by dealing with the mechanics properly. That means they earned their victory instead of getting carried by the nerfs.

They also nerfed SCoB by releasing higher ilvl gear, they need to roll that back cause it's total BS.

The funny part is if they left in the old one and simply implemented an "easy mode" SCoB with the same drops, the players that are crying the loudest about the nerfs would probably still farm in the easy mode instead of the original.

the amount of "leet-ism" here makes me sick, y'all got your clears before it was nerfed (and your pretty dense if you didn't think it was gonna happen) you been rocking the gear that already mean nothing to you because you're now rocking/seeking the FCOB gear, you now have to ability to farm that gear that never dropped (and wanted to glam) with just a little bit more ease because lets be honest, you said it in the back of your head... 'I've done this a hundred times already."

i have 4 kids and i just cant dedicate the time you crazy raiders and your 3, 4, 5 times a week raid schedule. I want nothing else but to get into scob and even fcob... and its not for a lack of skill, it because a lack of time. Lack of time to put together a good group and practice diligently because they cant dedicate that time just like me... because crazy detected raiders and us filthy casuals never mix well.

I recently joined a raiding fc in which the leader politely asked me if I desired to do fcob. I told him I hadn't cleared scob yet but had some minor experience with t6. Ultimately down the road I would like to though. He said that was fine and they could get me through. I just see this as me getting there faster. /shrug. No need to get our nickers in a twist folks, it's a means to an end.

Actually, I find that nerf quite insulting. I mean, based on what I read in this thread, there were people wanting to clear the SCOB with its original difficulty. It must be really frustrating to have the chance of doing SCOB and bam! A lot of the challenging mechanics are gone. I don't mind the echo, but they could just leave all the mechanics untouched. I also don't get the people saying "HODOR, YOU HAVE SAVAGE". If you guys didn't do Savage, it's miles away from the SCOB difficulty. Now there's no middle point and some people would have loved that. Thankfully, T9 remains the same for now, so people can experience that fight with all its original mechanics.

Yes, it is older content, but the whole SCOB was an excellent challenge and, most important, it was fun. I really don't care if I see an unskilled player decked out in HA. I really don't. I don't sell runs either, my FC does. I'm against that actually. I just feel that they're taking the fun away...

Oh well. Do savage and get your gear left to farm that way. If you've beaten t13 already dont act like 2nd coil hadnt already become easy for you anyway way b4 this echo/nerf. If it was really about you just wanting challenge still you'd just stick to savage. But you complained about your tough coil being ruined despite the fact there's still a tough option available. Sounds like you just wanted to keep it hard enough for u to farm it while those catching up can still be unable to get past old content so you can feel superior.

that comparison is a stretch at best. the further back you go in gaming history the more impossible games were. It's not about that. It's about things those instances made you learn that people can now skip. It's not about (at least on my point of view) gating people so I can feel better, because honestly, they'll still get facerolled by Nael in Turn4. It's about the learning experience those mechanics gave us that made those who were able to master them better players. If all you want is the "cool" Mapping the Realms achievement and feel better because you finally downed them then good for you, after today you learn nothing from them.

They obviously can't please everyone. But as for that content, it's already old enough to justify a nerf and the majority of Coil statics already cleared T6 to T8 and are either working on T9 or are on the Final Coil.

People said T5 was gonna be "1 shotted now in DF" and we know that's not the case at all, there is still many people who haven't even cleared T5 and when they do clear it, its not by DF, but still in the traditional PF or FC group. Second coil will still be challenging to the average player who's just trying to advance through the story and not interested in HA gear because showing off his e-peen is not important to him.

It just looks like they've removed all the guaranteed wipe mechanics from 6-8, however Turn 9 will be just as big a roadblock as Turn 5 was (and still is for some people).

There will be 1 or 2 that don't like the 2nd coil nerfs, but honestly the vast majority of hardcore raiders really don't care.

You know majority of your playerbase is bad if you need to nerf a mechanic where what you only need to do is stop moving.

I'm someone who considers himself pretty competent at his chosen role, but as many others, due to real life circumstances I often don't have the time/resources to put together a scheduled static with the hopes of clearing content like this over many moons of grinding out mechanics. For this reason, I welcome these changes.

The fact that certain individuals have stooped so low as to propose that this content be locked away from players for any reason, is utterly pathetic and disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Some offer up the idea that "the challenge has been stripped from the raid" when this is a flatout lie. If challenge is truly what you seek, you will find it in the final coil, or in savage modes of the first and second coils. What you seek is a weapon, with which you can beat other players who you deem lesser in stature than yourselves.

This content is outdated and the only things it offers people at this point are a different fight than they are probably used to, and a storyline, yet you would deny them those things simply because they didn't grind like you did when the content was actually current. Move on.
