Dropped Items and Materia

I didnt read them all, but i agree most if not all gear should be slotable, or i would say make the drops higher level materia instead of weapon/armors, or special materia that can be equipped on any slot, etc. or even items that can be desynthed into higher level materia, so you have to choose to keep it, or get its materia, and refarm that hard to get item.

I play with the best damage dealers. I am one of the best damage dealers, though admittedly not the best*. Both of our main tanks use the Mogblade. If the best comeback you can come up with is some wild, baseless assumption then wow lol. Also kind of sad that the reference went over your head. If it didn't, sad that you took it so seriously. Must have hit home. I'll say it again though;

EDIT: *Before you ask, I base this off of parses both on runs with my LS static and groups of other shells.

Brannigan's suggestion is the most logical, and is what should be done. All gear should be meldable. Crafted gear should be the worst, with green being better, and blue being best. Then logically, BLUE+M > GREEN+M > CRAFTED+M, maintaining the hierarchy. There is no reason why a crafted item with a single piece of materia on it should outclass all other U/U drops for that slot making what little content this game has irrelevant.

He said all other W for that slot. Silver Tricorne +20 Int, plus the base +3 Str and +3 Dex, or the Paragon Crown that has a number of stats I don't actually need. . .

Regardless, that's a lovely example of a Green gear that is meldable. It's not W I'll give it that, but my position for Green W is and any Green tier gear for that matter is for it to be meldable.

Now, going on the example of the head slot, how many Blue W gears exist for the head slot that once can compare to? Besides even that, the Paragon Crown for example is in fact the top choice for ARC slot.

The idea is, and I repeat, that Blue W gear should not be the best in every scenario. They should be the best by circumstance and much better than most other options. Variety. That's the direction I see them heading in with these Blue W gears as of late and I agree with it. They've read the community reaction and how some people wish to be able to meld them, and their response has not been positive in that subject.

Very doubtful at this point they will suddenly change this plan/design and allow Blue W gears to be melded. Green ones on the other hand there's a lot of inconsistency with, and there's a chance there.

It's also a lovely example of a crafted item being better than all other W drops for that slot (for that class), something you said doesn't happen. I'll grant that Paragon is the king of one-size-fits-all, but there are times it loses.

I understood it as crafted gear beating all blue gear regardless of slot. I'll admit my misreading. Though I did bring up the valid point that there's more Blue gear for some slots than others. Also that Paragon's is indeed best in slot for some classes.
