Great Sword is more fun anyway. Scythe is great, But should never limit your damage based on warped RP interpretations of the job.

But at the same time, It has the Quality to Ignore DEF, Not Sure how potent it is, but it can be quite powerful on high DEF mobs, So it might become really good once we step outside Abyssea into the new NMs/Voidwatch System where we won't have Overwhelming Attack and buffs.

Ignore defense is 10%/20%/30% at 100%/200%/300% TP. As the fTP doesn't vary with TP it's never justified to save up 300% TP because 3 Ws with 10% ignore defense will always out damage 1 WS with 30% ignore defense.

Torcleaver beats Quietus inside Abyssea or outside it because it's just a straightforward massive damage multiplier with no gimmicks. Hell it probably beats Ukon's Fury outside Abyssea too for the same reason.
