Just curious but did you upgrade a Redemption when you already knew that Caladbolg was both better and easier to upgrade?
I have not yet upgraded it fully. When I started no I did not know, I found out not long after though. Still I vastly prefer to use scythe over great sword.
Knew, didn't know, it shouldn't matter.... all of the empy weapons should be effective....
Edit: I plan to get redemption regardless, just would be nice if I actually had a decent scythe ws for once.

2500-3500 norm with spikes up to 5k happening frequently is not out of the ordinary for Raging Rush inside abyssea.
Great Sword is more fun anyway. Scythe is great, But should never limit your damage based on warped RP interpretations of the job. You should get both, Caladbolg is laughably easy anyway :P
Though, Quietus shines outside of Abyssea really, its quite effective there. It could use a Larger fTP, however SE said in another thread here (The Full break one) They had intentions to adjust multiple weaponskills, This may be one of them.
If we're handing out buffs to them though, I'd like to see Camlann's Torment get a buff, Rudra's Storm couldn't hurt to buff because it sucks without SA/TA, so DNC is kinda boned. (Strictly speaking for empyreans).
I wouldn't say I limit myself, I'd gladly pick up both ... >_> gonna start with this one and see where the road takes me~
Its a Solid weapon in terms of DPS, but you will be disappointed by the WS. Severely. At least inside Abyssea.
However I have been told and shown its rather decent outside. At the same time though, It could use a small buff, it just doesn't really shine as opposed to the other ones.
But at the same time, It has the Quality to Ignore DEF, Not Sure how potent it is, but it can be quite powerful on high DEF mobs, So it might become really good once we step outside Abyssea into the new NMs/Voidwatch System where we won't have Overwhelming Attack and buffs.
We'll See ;o
The argument for what weapon is easier really is invalidated by having the correct setup makes obtaining one relativley pain free.
/gets on rocking chair/ Why I remember back in the daaaaaay, where certain Dynamis shells could pump out Relic weapons with relative ease in one severe case a weapon every 2-3 weeks.
If you don't have a good group or a very large HNMLS already, getting an empyrean weapon is quite a monumental task considering they aren't even done yet and the trials once you get the 75 version (Which I know there isn't) are not monotonous (BUT EASY) kill 2000 things or WS kill 2000 things (and if I recall these requirements were drastically lowered but the Relic people STILL whined about this, but thats another story).
Quietus isn't a crit WS, so it sucks in abyssea - you don't get free 60% damage. I think however it could use a buff of some kind, an FTP mod or a better effect: I heard its only a chance activation.
The weapons aren't done yet I wonder what stats and if they'll make them more unique as time goes on.
It also looks uglier than apocalypse and I honestly thought that was impossible. Oh SE.
While all Empyreans are simple to an extent if you have help, Theres varying levels of "Easy" XD.
Caladbolg Requires Carabosse. 2 key Items, Simple NMs, about 10 feet from eachother and Carabosse pop. Chloris however, Requires very many NMs/Key items, Including Sub NMs to pop the NMs to get the Key items. So in the end i guess i should say, Caladbolg is much quicker to obtain. If two equal footed groups set out after both items, Caladbolg would be finished probably twice as fast.
Also, It is terribly Ugly. Looks like a Colibri head stuck to the end of a pole.
