I have to confess, this limit break worries me a great deal. I managed to handle all the others that have come up but seeing as all the shouts I've seen are for a summoner with alexander or four beastmasters, I can't help but feel like im going to struggle to get this done.

I agree with the notion about how this is only going to get harder with time too. I know the answer most people are pointing out is "go and find people who have already done it to help you!" but realisitcally, how many people do you think are going to go back to help someone they don't know? In my general experience, people who have cleared a battlefield are highly unlikely to turn around and go back and do it again for fun.

The fight is NOT HARD. there's NOTHING to worry about. Even if you do end up finding it hard, you should be enjoying the good challenge. As far as finding people, Anyone that's level 96 or above is automatically able to help you, and there is no level cap, so bringing 99 players will make it all the more easy.

There's a simple solution to your problem. Start the party yourself. If people in the party bring weakness items, you can win with any sensible job combination. Even without them, if the team plays well, it's a perfectly winnable fight. I highly reccomend having a summoner regardless of strategy- but there's no shortage of summoners out there, as any visit to Walk of Echoes in the last month or two can attest- Summoner is one of those jobs that everyone plays but doesn't use often. It is, however, completely winnable without a summoner (You can also use a scholar sub red mage to get some of the same benefits, though not quite as potent). Bard is nice to have for sentinel's scherzo and/or marches. Monks are great, Thieves and dancers shine once again (1h weapons have a major advantage here due to the "cap" on damage).

Just buckle down, grab some people, and devise a strategy with what you have to work with. It might take you a few tries if your group isn't as sound as you'd like, but you can do it.

This fight is no harder than Maat was for most jobs back in the day.

I will admit at first thought I was like damn my 2 mules don't have any of the jobs peeps are using to get the win. So I decided to farm the fossil bones and fangs up. I never thought the fight would end up being that super easy with just 2 tails and ranged attacks and nukes. A sam on follow on the taru I am sure could get ws off the always did on me running in brenner lol. But best would be just sub rng for sidewinder spam old school style. He takes normal damage while the tail is up and its easy enough to go balls to the wall when he is racing around lol. A bet 2-3 geared BLMS or 2-3 rangers could take him after doing the fight.

Any advice for farming bones? Every mob I tried recently seems to be capable of murdering me in 3 to 4 hits. After it's murdered my friend on monk that is.

What the heck are you fighting that "murders you in 3-4 hits?"

The fossilized items are not that hard to come by; I found the fang with a couple friends in bost. oubliette thoguh you caon undoubtedly get them with a better drop rate on VTs.

I'm pretty sure they're sellable too, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Take a look on wiki on nearly all the mobs listed for the bone? I tried Bats in Uleguerand Range but after 3 hours of no joy I tried some of the other stuff. Considering most of the listed mobs are level 96 and up, I'd wager a guess at most of them being able to kill me?

T mobs would take more than "3-4 hits" to kill me even if I was naked and stood there doing nothing. Many jobs can solo the dropping mobs, yours included.

Also, they more or less drop from the same mobs that drop seasoning stones- which is many EXP-giving mobs found in Original/Zilart areas. Fighting VTs willl give you the best drop rate.

You are a dragoon. You should be able to solo Tough mobs with ease. Sub BLU and use a cheap spell to get healing breath. And even if you can't, you should be able to get ONE PERSON at least to help you out.

My apologies if this sounds mean-spirited- but it's not meant that way. But you may need to re-think how you're going about this if just getting the items is giving you this kind of trouble.

Thanks for the drg soloing master class. Ironically I soloed drg to level 70, including my own testimony for the very reason that I enjoyed the challenge of solo play. I spent most of the evening last night in Dangruf Wadi fighting crabs and gibbons which resulted in a net gain of 6 seasoning stones and 4 fangs for the party. I have not seen a single bone drop. I have tried Bilesuckers in Uleguerand. Again, no joy. Is the drop rate that bad? Or is this just a massive time sink? Because 5-6 hours of farming should result in one drop at the very least as far as im aware.

My suggestion is to ignore the seemingly Elitist shouts.

Your PLD doesn't need an Ochain/Aegis
You don't need a SMN and if you use one, it doesn't need Alexander.
You don't NEED BSTs, you don't NEED SMNs, you don't NEED PLDs.

Ignore the pathetic shouts and make a group yourself.

You might want to check bazaars. By now, a lot of people have beaten the level cap fight and you'll likely be able to find a bone/fang at a price you can live with.
