    Personally, I'd like to see new stuff that allows me to gain some inventory without making large sacrifices. I love situational and macro equipment, but more of it pours in every update and our inventories are probably going to be 80 slots forever.

    Generally, just stuff that can function in the place of one or more things that make up really common equipment sets (TP set, -% Damage Taken set[s], several kinds of Idle sets, elemental and magian staves, etc.). A set with high Haste values and also an acceptable amount of -% Damage Taken. A weapon with Refresh effect that has -% Damage Taken instead of +% Damage Taken. An all-jobs weapon or weapons with more than one elemental affinity present.

    As for new macro pieces that are best for a few specific weaponskills, spells, or abilities; I think the Development Bros are already doing well with those. After all these years, they finally seem to grasp that we change pants regularly and put compatible bonuses together. I'd be happy with more of the same for stuff we don't have specific equipment to cover yet.

    I'm going to spam this kinda thread until SE understands that not upgrading af+1 is unacceptable
    Why is this so not acceptable? I really don't give a rats behind about upgrading the AF- All of mine is in storage and I don't want to take it out again.

    Why can't people just accept that some gear becomes obsolete when level caps go up? Why would you want to upgrade the AF when you can upgrade the relic or empyrean armor?

    Heck, I only slightly care about the relic upgrades- out of all of my jobs (PUP/SMN/DNC/SCH/DRK) I only really even still use two or three pieces of relic, so being able to upgrade those will be a bonus, but I wouldn't have cared if they didn't get upgrades.

    Personally, I'm all out with the old and in with the new. For most jobs, the relic and empyrean armors look better. The only reason to upgrade the AF over the other two is because you want the AF look while still having useful stats. But for my jobs at least, the last look I want is that of the AF.

    I won't really be complaining if they do add it, but really, I won't feel like I"m missing anything if they don't.

It matched with the best of the melee gloves even when being compared to other job's armor even "back in the day" so it makes sense to scale it to the levels of the best of other gear. For this I propose at least a +12 if not a +15 to both STR and MND, if not on top of other melee stats. I do not expect it will be easy to obtain.
    I wanted it to be done, so i keep my numbers down, also I keep in mind other gear that is available to whm so that that af1+2 would not replace these gears. If you want refresh on head or legs, get the abyssea refresh hairpin or abyssea quested legs with refresh augmetnt. If you want enmtiy minus gear + mnd on feet, get the salvage marduk feet, etc. I just slighlty boasted the current stats on the af1+1 so that af1+2 would not be insane, I'm looking for the balance that SE craves without making af1+2 super gear, just better than af1+1 and following the current af1 theme, as well as adding the two augments to merited abilities devotion and martyr. But thanks for posting, keep it up people. Turn the heat up on af1+2 please.

    That's why I was focusing on the mitts to be honest. The majority of artifact gear is kinda crappy, but regardless of what people want from gear new or old, the AF1+1 mitts for White Mage are currently White Mage's best bet for a melee macro piece. I know not every White Mage has the desire to crack skulls, but to see an upgrade for this piece, particularly one that isn't just the jump I'd expect from going up ten levels, is important to me.

    To be honest, I don't care if it comes in the form of an Artifact +2 set or some new gear set, it is just one of the many roles that have been left behind with the level cap increases.

    They are redoing old gear, if you like it or not they are doing it to homam, af2, nyzul gear, salvage gear. My issue is they are redoing everything except af1, that’s the problem. Second, there has been new gear for every update since 75. The op is why is af1 being given the the ugly red headed step child treatment in the budget crunch? Please stay on topic, thank you.

    I don't know if this is aimed to me, others, or everyone in general, but ultimately, I think it would be easier to make AF1+2 gear for filling the roles certain pieces do already (like the WHM mitts) then it would be to make new stuff, at least from the standpoint of designing quests or synth recipes to get said new gear.

    Of course, they could just make gear drop from nasty mobs with no questing or synthing in between too... but I think that the synthers are quite distraught at the increasing lack of gear they can make without resorting to synergy. Of course, synthing could just be a component in a quest, be it for new gear, or the artifact gear.
