Personally, I'd like to see new stuff that allows me to gain some inventory without making large sacrifices. I love situational and macro equipment, but more of it pours in every update and our inventories are probably going to be 80 slots forever.
Generally, just stuff that can function in the place of one or more things that make up really common equipment sets (TP set, -% Damage Taken set[s], several kinds of Idle sets, elemental and magian staves, etc.). A set with high Haste values and also an acceptable amount of -% Damage Taken. A weapon with Refresh effect that has -% Damage Taken instead of +% Damage Taken. An all-jobs weapon or weapons with more than one elemental affinity present.
As for new macro pieces that are best for a few specific weaponskills, spells, or abilities; I think the Development Bros are already doing well with those. After all these years, they finally seem to grasp that we change pants regularly and put compatible bonuses together. I'd be happy with more of the same for stuff we don't have specific equipment to cover yet.
