I don't know what it is with people on this game that are in love with old stuff.
You'd think you'd be happy about getting something new and shiny.
Actually, since you brought it up, what stats would you like to see on completely new gear sets? How would you like to go about obtaining them?
I love my ebody like most people because we were locked out of owning one for many years. Augments were kind to it. I guess those that owned them for far longer are tired of them but personally so long as warrior continues to have ugly ass JSE, I'm gonna be biased towards the 'berk or anything else really.
I guess at the end of the day I don't have a problem with the ability to upgrade AF gear. I just won't be a person who cares to do it because nothing says 2005 like AF gear.

How were you locked out of a ebody eh Vold ? Never heard of einherjar like ?
Just because you didn't do hnm what was stopping you doing einherjar ?
Htid!
All right, time to do SE's job for them!
I'm already not updating Artifact Armor +1 at the moment, but that still leaves a few things. Shirt off! Pants off! Okay, now I'm naked! That just leaves prying open this toner cartridge with a screwdriver and drinking whatever comes out. Wow, this stuff tastes awful. Kind of like cotton-flavored Kool-Aid with no sweetener, but less tangy and with stronger hints of soap.
Now I am seeing giant insects who tell me how awesome logs and ore can be. They're surprisingly convincing about it, possibly because their voices sound like a symphony played in half-time using the contents of an entire steel mill.
Getting back on topic, the giant insects and I feel that barely warmed over reiterations of old content are more of an issue than updated old equipment. If the stuff for Artifact Armor +2 comes from entirely new Limbus areas, it won't really bother me that my new pants look like my old pants.
On the other hand, I don't understand the burning need for new pants that look exactly like old pants. New pants and properly updated old pants hit me in exactly the same place, as long as my pants come from content that feels new.
If put on the spot, I'd say I prefer brand new pants just because whoever designs models for FFXI now tends to make things louder and more to my tastes. Now, if you'll excuse me, it turns out the giant insects I have hallucinated want to eat my flesh.
Well, we've reached the Haste cap on every job (even SMN with enough work), and Accuracy has become more and more devalued. DA is getting to the point where it's a very minimal gain. Crit Rate can be pushed to over 80% outside Abyssea. Crit Damage can be pushed over the old cap incredibly easily.
What would I like to see? Something new.
"Ignores Defense +5%" "Ign. Phys. Dmg. Reduction +2%" "Ignores Evasion +3%"
"Grants a regen effect equal to 5% of HP healed by Cure"
"Reduces MP cost by X%" "Increases MP Cost by y%, Increases Elemental Magic Damage by 1.5y%" "Increases Elemental Magic Damage by x% of MP spent"
"Increases Defense by x for y amount of HP" "Increases HP by x for y amount of Defense"
"Restores x HP when evading" "Increases Evasion by x after being hit"
I can go on all day...
Edit: obviously these stats would be on top of stats we already have on gear. Like:
Thor's Flanchard
[Legs]All Races
DEF:58 STR+11 Accuracy +10
Attack +18 "Ignores Defense" +3%
Enhances Attack by 2% after using a Weapon Skill
Lv.99 PLD/DRK/BST/SAM/DRG
Warwick's Hose
[Legs]All Races
DEF:45 STR+4 Accuracy +7
Attack +8 Haste+5%
Drains 15% of damage dealt to HP
Lv.99 WAR/MNK/NIN/BLU
