It appears that the current in-development name for the spell previously known as "Merton" is now "Kaustra."

It's just the right mix of nostalgia and non-suck... (avoids spells like BRAK (Break), NUKE (Flare), RUB/XXXX (Death), etc...)

Personally, I'd prefer "Meltdown" or "Merton" if for nothing else, it has the classic Final Fantasy name. Remember, this is a Final Fantasy game first, and an MMO second, in my opinion.

Why german-ish? Most of the spells (sch specific) to date have had stronger ties to latin.
