    Botanist's Overhaul: Ideas & Possiblities

    Attention... this thread/list is subject to change along with the development of FFXIV, with it is a wish to better this class further then what is at present, always moving towards greater heights. Monthly [ Updated 8-28-2011 (OP Revamped )]

    All that is here is for the Improvement of Botanist, (*I'm sure there is no need to say it however here it is anyways for anyone that want it read it.) ... More Shiny nodes and many other ways to interact with the plants, environment, and possibly the wild-life of eorzea and much more, bring out an fun & exciting adventure.

    Someday, Botanist will grow & blossom to what it should be; " An Amazing Adventure In Itself that Explores all the Land: "Exploration, Searching, Discovery, Gathering, Achievements, Knowledge, Growth, Botany, Life & Death. " [these words barely explain it all because there is so much more to it that can be worked on].

    Actually in thinking of the greenhouse idea, it would make sense as well as give the feature an instance for each player (ala Moghouse FFXI) also maybe they could incorporate the feature as an unlockable. e.g. allow Botanists to own their own green house after completing a quest only available after R20. (kinda like chocobo license in FFXI, i think if it were set to be able to do at botanist R20 it'd be a close enough goal to go for yet still high enough that it is an accomplishment.)

    For each player to have there own personal space, the greenhouse, weather player is solo/party/Ls to allow entrance is for them to decide.
    Botanist Ranks from 1-50 *currently* could also be take part in the game-play mechanics; unlocking better(favored) or minimal(lesser) stuff at each rank-up :

    Basket [Primary? or and Secondary?]:
    Basket's could be optional between Prime or and Secondary; (Example: Hatchet(Primary Tool) & Basket (Secondary) ; Scythe (Secondary). Though if Basket is between "Primary and Secondary" ether slot could be equipped first, then scythe becomes an stand-alone tool with basket. <<<Back to List<<<

    Basket [Animation & Special Effects]:

    • The basket doing the usual appear next to character's: feet, on the back, in-hands, or on top of head.
    • Hidden in the background unseen (an toggle on/off feature).
    • Different sizes bigger or smaller capacity; could depend on rank or choice of type.
    • When it is full basket feels heavy (* and slows character movements).
    • and basket's special effect it can expansion and swells becoming wider.

    Basket [Support Tools/Items]

    -A specific tool or item for supporting the class [in this case Botanist]
    all basket's usage depends on different factors like Class, Rank, Stats, etc...
    -It has been know when using one it is more effective while gathering.
    each tool/item has it's own capacity to hold items of specific types by itself.
    -The capacity can range from 1/50 and or greater to 1/500, all depends on which type is used;
    also is stored on character's body or inventory, which then opens another window to oversee/sort what has been gathered.

    Basket [Sorting Feature; [Preset- Auto] or [Manually -sort]

    -Tree Climbing:
    To interact with any tree we'd come up, all the trees in eorzea ether small one and large one, to see amazing wonders only by climbing up. a new view of the world will become available. Discover a completely different side to Eorzea that's right above your head. the view and the feeling would be completely different from always walking on the ground. Many more gathering spots await.

    Climb a Tree (Ability): Scale up any tree trunk (gather here), then climb up toward the branches/leaves; (gather more), then reach the top; (*gather again), then enter inside the tree through a whole at the top and travel through tunnels; (*gather more and more), all the way back down to the bottom or enter its roots out or an underground pathways (*best gathering spot location).

    Height Sickness - [Rank/Class/Body - Limitations]
    An Amazing Viewing points, scenes from atop tree tops
    Monsters In/Climbing the Trees (example: Marmots, Galagos/Opo-opo etc...)

    A hidden place that has gathering point all inside, the deep players travel within its deeps to more rarer treasure can be found, be it items, material or monster, all can be gathered from. finding clues to the whereabouts of dens. Some dens filled with dangerous mobs, that only high ranked players with the best abilities to avoid and survive this places.

    GOOD>> Walking Trees
    Trees are alive in a sense but they Don't Move or Walk However the world of Eorzea has proven otherwise that trees Can Move if they wanted to. As to Grade Trees are they really grounded? if not after a while the trees could some day uproots itself and moves to another area. Tracking the same tree a botanist that can usually find often would soon become a bit more of challenge to say the least. But what if the trees begun to protect or defend themselves? could we harvest off them then? the tree probably wasn't in the mood so come back another time. taking caution and look out for signs, and quickly Running away if need be, [gathering becomes a risk]. Then when they're moving around don't be climbing it there could be a possibility of falling. (<<<Go to List<<<

    "Why do trees uproot and move away on their own?" maybe in search of better soil, light & water, or just make it more difficult for you to gather from them.

    Plant-like Monsters: a plant-like monster should have gathering point on there bodies somewhere for Botanist to gather, only a botanist can harvest "plant-like monster". As 1 of 3 of DoL plants/monsters would be specified to them.
    For Example; "Funguar's" or "Goobbue's" are good example of Eorzeas wild life and plant-types.[/COLOR]

    Goobue: Build like a boulder Goobue's are tough creatures, and just from looking at it this being brings a thought to mind "Simply a World Wonder" so not only does he? or her? who knows, ether way Botanist could climb up (related to Climbing) on their Big Backs and then begin gathering the moss (*Boyahda Moss) and branches that grows there. This is definitely a risk to do because the Goobue could attack at any moment! but it could be worth the challenge . please click here for further details

    Mystical Creatures >Encounters<: meeting one of this creatures could change the way a Botanist spends his days smacking... chopping trees, as to finding new different exciting ways to go about the usual days in Eorzea.

    Mystical Creature #1. - Elementals : Seemly existing as part of Eorzea itself the elemental inhabit rock, trees or any other form. Botanist's or in general any other DoL probably should have more encounters with these mystical beings of that nature more often. Elementals could give blessings or curses depending on what is done and how. ( a Botanist's usual day is to Gather the needed materials to use for DoH or sell the spoils gathered from grade tree/nodes, However something different could happen once an a while to make things more interesting. An encounter with one of the Air, Earth, Ice, Water, Lightning, Fire (and etc..) Elemental's, if one chooses to follow a DoL or we follow it, the outcome could lead to rare gathering being located and or encounter dangerous but wondrous situations along the path.

    Greenhouse: SORRY ^^ IT'S UNDER RECONSTRUCTION, someday may repost.

    Plants/Planting [Seeding]: The beginning of anything starts out very...very small then begins to grow and soon enough change/blossom into it's adult form. Soon enough many bear fruit while others grow beautiful too attract insects or other creatures to spread there spores thus more grow else where.

    Gardening (Inside & Outside): [Related to [Plants] and however different style] For a single or group of players to come together and help change Eorzea (even if just a little) by gardening. A small or large area full of Vegetables, Flowers and Weeds ( pull it) any player that choose the Botanist can grow a garden. [maybe getting permit is needed to ground the land] or better yet [Complete Freedom to plant anywhere however each player should set a time per person, or and an [Instant] possibly] (other classes can also reap the benefits of the Garden as well, depends)^^GOOD

    Cultivation [Fields]: cultivation nodes; give back,/gathering nodes: take away. Find a open field outside in eorzea then begun cultivating it, a lot of effort will be needed to turn it into a productive area to yield better resources and make gardens for your plants, the untamed lands of Eorzea hold much secrets so maybe digging around someday you'd find out a secret or two.^^GOOD

    Rock, Roots, and Weeds: they get in the way of gathering, it simply could be an obstacle of sort to over come, someday.
