Screen is black, lights too dark. Try again during mid day light.
Spiderman!
Yea it looks like some cheap ftp mmo to be honest.
I don't care about jumping at all to be honest. If you want to run along the lines of ledges and be bothered by it, that's fine, but to add a feature because you think doing something odd looks odd is a little unsound in my book. People where complaining about the borders being too big so, they shrank them. Jumping won't really add anything to it. That and they would probably have to rework the entire system of movement for the game, but we'll see. It wouldn't be a particularly unwelcome change.
hahah , weeeee. You can do this, but if you go to the Arm Adventure guild with that plate metal thing on floor thats about 3 inches of ground OH NO that is much to difficult to stand on..........
Way to just not state your opinion on the situation??
on another note...
People that don't want jump are lame.
Jumping can add more immersion into a game, and more layers instead of just and x plane system. if you add jump, you get a y plane system too. Climbing, swimming... that doesn't sound as bad as walking into an invisible wall if you ask me >.>
I'll leave this here:
Jumping. Does. Not. Add. Immersion. To. A. Game. Not. Designed. To. Be. Explored. Via. Jumping.
If there are caves or tunnels or dungeons we already progress through more layers than just the "x plane". Adding jump won't instantly open up a brand new world. Even in Mario games there's limitations to where you can explore.
CT was mainly designed as a cinematic engine and to implement seamless transitions from cutscene to gameplay.
That's severe design clashing. Starter areas = Nothing to explore via jumping. New Areas = requires jumping to fully explore. It has to be pretty universal since take the Ys games for example, almost every area in the PC games at least you need the jump or double jump ability to fully explore, not just one or two areas. The entire game has to make use of a mechanic or it would just be a design clash.Quote:
If you build new areas that allow you to jump around, then it would add immersion, like some action mmorpgs (tera XD), I used to be anti jump because of people retardly jumping around but i doubt we'll get that here
The current maps are only explorable where we "see". There is nothing beyond it to be explored if we start jumping over mountains.
ppl were constantly *** about small ledges they can't pass, now ppl *** that they are able to walk over small ledges.
i didn't care wasting 2-4 secs more of my life finding another way to get across a small ledge.
noone but the players themself are to blame now.
Heya!
Tsk... Come on, I bet the 70% of people will use this Jumping system only to do this =)
Anyway, I'd like a Jumping system like the one of Final Fantasy XIII, where you can jump through obstacles or voids of terrain.
See ya!
im still on the dont give crap boat but i was almost sure most said they hated the idea of jumping being in game and now every ones for it god make up your minds
That reminds me of this game:

LOL, FFXIV also possible to walk through human/monster bodies now
Big Rigs: 1.0 out of 10
FFXIV: 4.0 out of 10
Jumping would be nice in the sense that you can jump off those annoying 2 foot ledges and jump up them instead of going around. However I think to implement jump they would have to redesign a lot of the environment. Not only that it would make running from mobs EVEN EASIER then it already is. Other then the first point I think jump in FF is pretty useless. Bothered me at first for XI but then quickly realized that it is pointless.
Actually, speaking of this, what was the last SE game that had active jumping as a useful feature?
I can't actually think of any at the moment. Closest I can think of is that Slime battle quest game for the DS.
This is a RPG not some action adventunture or a platformer like super mario.
O
Honestly if they add a "press X to jump" feature it will definitely hurt the game.
But if they add something like zelda's jump system it could be a great addition to the game. If they took the time to add to the ways that people travel across the world it would definitely make things more entertaining. If they add stuff like jumping over certain obstacles and ledges, climbing certain surfaces and swim in certain places they could make the world feel more involved. Of course they need to work to make sure the use of these things are built into the world, so they are something you need to do to reach your goal as opposed to something you can do for the fun of it.
It also would make the world feel more adventurous. It would add a sense of exploration to travel. Makes it a journey as opposed to a long walk.
Funny that people say Jumping is such an immersion-breaker when the trainwreck that are our so-called "spells" nobody gives a shit about.
Seriously? Why the fuck is Cure so uglifying? WHY?
I can't even look at my screen whenever anyone cures me. I'd take bunnyhoppers over Cure anyday. 90% of the spells and actions in this game are jus flat-out retarded, and especially the spells. At least a bunnyhopper is NATURAL.
Note: the people whining that adding free jumping will break immersion never complain about the following things breaking immersion:
Custom names
Having to alt-tab to look up quest guides
Shouting
Spam casting spells/self buffs
Or any number of things that break immersion.
Basically, people knock jumping because it's something western MMOs have and clearly it's a bad feature because it's found in a western MMO.
