Full Refund - That's what I want

I want a full refund for this game. I bought the CE version of the game, and this is the second release. I have barely gotten to even play it. SE beta tested this thing 3 times and then stress-tested it.

I'm sick and tired of 1017. I want my refund. Square-Enix, grow some balls and gives it to me. I can't play your game. So, give me my money back. I won't play any of your titles in the future.

Simple. Easy. Sound good?

Gosh just be patient they're doing maintenance for this tomorrow. This happens with every game launch. Maybe in the future you, and everyone else without an ounce of launch patience, should wait a few weeks before buying the damn game so we don't have to hear you all cry like a bunch of 3 year old girls on the forums.

Tried that, buddy. No dice. Do you want to give me my $60 back, because SE sure hasn't. It's simple - a product was offered yet not received. I have a right to my money back with no patience whatsoever. The logic is quite clear with this one.

Why are people so bothered because someone wants a refund?

It's obvious the OP is very annoyed by the current situation, and as much as people wants to make it sound like it's acceptable to have this kind of issues "because everyone else does" it still doesn't make it right.

Also, if you guys care so much about the game then instead of driving the OP away with your White Knighting you would probably get better results being way more polite. SE screwed up, there's simply no question about it, and making people who are already upset about the crap service feel even worse with your apologetic insults isn't going to gain XIV any new costumers.

And last, there are also many problems right now because of account issues (not only login issues) where SE's customer service is even dismissing unresolved tickets altogether after a couple of days. And didn't the guys at Costumer Service take the day(s) off in the middle of so many players with said account issues due to the unintuitive MogStation (that no one ever got to beta test in the first place) in addition to the people asking for a refund?

Either way trying to sweep things under the rug will only make it worse.

Actually they tested it more than that.
All things went to hell in Phase 4. Phase 3 was the best one...well I've only played 3 and 4.
I just hoped they fix things in that week long downtime.

No ones bothered by it but the forums isn't the place to request one. He, just like so many others, just expect way to much out of an MMO. It's MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE not single player. Every single MMO has had similiar issues with their launch. You get the same mind numbing ass crying from all the people who lack the patience to wait it out. They're working on it. It's not like they took the money and ran and basically said SCREW YOU ALL! We are ALL dealing with the same issue. Besides when you buy computer software and you use the serial code you aren't really entitled to a refund especially if you click OKAY to the User Agreement because it states, in every online user agreement, that uptime and playtime is not 100% guaranteed and besides that they are giving us playtime back due to this issue.

I don't want to think bad of Yoshi-P, but considering how bad things got during Phase 4 and the number of preorders they had already there's just no way they didn't know this was going to happen. I doubt it was Yoshi's decision to launch like this knowing the problems that were going to occur, but considering how rushed the release date was to begin with I wouldn't be surprised if some higher up pushed for this rushed release to appease investors.

Which as usual did more harm than good. But who knows. /shrug

Sooooo sad, im so terribly sad for you that an mmo release didnt go off without a hitch, and that a game that you love you have had a few issues with the past week so that makes u never want to play it again, im soooooo terribly sorry for the heartache you have had to deal with

It is when Costumer Service is down and there's no response even when it's up. Only thing people can do in this kind of situation is try to get the word around, and if it gets enough attention then maybe the Company will finally come with a reply.

Also, asking for a refund should not be a bad thing. You buy a game and you expect to be able to play. And if you can't then you are justified to ask for a refund, regardless whether they are "working on it" or not. Look at Sim City, it got more attention because it was more of a single player game, but the denial of service is pretty much the same. And even EA agreed to refunds in the end.

So how could you in good faith deny people's reasons to ask for a refund in that situation? Just because you want to wait that doesn't mean others should be forced to with no response to their legitimate complaints with the Company.

And again, being more empathetic would be much better to defuse situations like this, because shoving the EULA and other "smart" replies on people already upset only makes things worse. But hey, to each their own.

What it comes down to Raydeus is how do you expect people to empathize with people who A) feel entitled and B) don't read what they agree too. That is no ones fault but the person who agreed to the terms and services. That is their ignorance. You trying to justify a persons ineptitude just shows you lack any intelligence yourself.

This doesn't happen with every game at launch...
This shit didn't happen on SWTOR, didn't happen with DCUO, or FFXI, or The Secret World, or Defiance, or Darkfall: Unholy Wars.
The only games this shit happened to in recent years was Guild Wars 2, and Diablo III.
I've played way too many MMOs in my life, and I know that this isn't normal--it's appauling, and what is most unforgivable is SE's customer service and communication to it's players about the situation and what they're doing to solve it. Square has been in business too long for me to forgive them for this immence amount of disrespect and incompetence--they've successfully launched an MMO before--why the complete lack of disrespect? Not to mention the obvious lack on their part to not adopt successful business strategies from other competitive companies who run and maintain MMOs.

Requesting a refund is fine, give it to him. Complaining about the current status of this game is fine too, how the hell else do you expect us to handle this atrocity?

ChrisRPh-- I can't apologize on behalf of Sqaure, but as a fellow human being that is incredibly disappointed how this game launched, I am sorry this game is incredibly disappointing, I wish you the best of luck, my friend.

I am going to give SE till this coming Friday, I have been spamming login screen since last Wednesday with no luck, just had a nice 4 day weekend with zero playtime, they claim to have a fix for this coming Wednesday so I will wait for that and a couple extra for them to work out all the bugs, by then if I still have zero or very minimal play time I will go get my refund and try again in a few months when things are in a more playable state. I figure 2 weeks is more than fair on my end as far as patience and getting nothing in return for money paid.

This most certainly does not happen with every game launch. This is far worse than any game launch I've ever played or even heard of. Even worse than Aion and that was pretty terrible.
Personally, I'm not "crying" about simply not getting to play. If EVERYONE faced the same issues and thus the game was on a level playing field, it wouldn't be an issue to me really. But as it stands, some progress into end game with multiple 50s, others have not even been able to log in enough to hit lvl 20.
This breaks "MMO progression", which, while obviously is not true for you..is the reason many play MMOs in the first place - for the competition.
Being denied that, is being denied the ENTIRE game experience - irrelevant to any initial amount of time.

People will always feel entitled to receive something they paid for, I don't see how that is surprising in any way. As for the User Agreement, expecting people to read it and accept things that go against common sense (like being able to get a refund for something that isn't working) is an oxymoron. Like I said, just look at EA, they had all the paperwork and legal stuff well in place, and they still had to agree to make refunds. So there's only so much responsibility a User Agreement can shield you from.

And last, even if I lack as much intelligence as you say the fact still remains that you are bothered by an issue someone else has with the Company, which you are not a part of. So you have much less reason to defend the company than I have to defend people's right to talk about the issues going on. Specially considering I can understand the frustration because I haven't been able to play for 4 days now myself.

First of all. You're a terrible liar. I've been on numerous MMO launches since EQ and they've all had their issues. It may not entirely be logging in related but there are issues that prevent people from either accessing the game or using the game. So I call BULLSHIT on you sir. Complaining is not fine. See there is a way to handle things and a way not to handle things. Acting like an ass only makes you look like an ass it does nothing for you but it speaks volumes about your character as a person. I've witnessed enough real launches, not the fictious ones you're going on about to know that you just have to have a little patience when it comes to these things. Not having any patience is the fault of the individual not the fault of the company. If people were smart, people like you and the OP, you would take into consideration what it means for them as a company they're working to fix it they're not flipping everyone the bird and rolling in their bed of $1000 dollar bills. When you can't even give them the opportunity to fix the issue before you go demanding things from them it just shows not only you lack integrity as a person but that you have the mentality of a spoiled child.

If that were true..then there would not be such a disparity in 'capacity to level' and thus progress into end-game. It's not equal, there is no level playing field. That's why it's important for MMO companies to get the launch right - so people can progress at THEIR pace, not the broken game's pace (which again, is not broken at all for a select few who leave their characters online and never crash).

You didn't play WoW at release then. Or any other highly successful MMO in recent history even Rift was pretty awful.

I couldn't play WoW for almost 3 weeks after release date because it had so many issues, within the 2nd week there was even a data reset and everyone lost their characters. This is actually one of the better launches I've ever been apart of, not the smoothest but also not the roughest.

at least your level 17, some of us haven't even been logged in long enough to get to level 10

I really wish there were mods that would ban this type of person or remove these types of threads

If you were not able to log in to your character for a week and a half while the top-end progression guild you want to join all acquire multiple 50s and clear the entire end-game while you're stuck in noob land..is acceptable to you..then all I can say is, you don't value the same things in an MMO as I do.

MMOs have some less than stellar launches. In this particular case the game is selling very well. TOO well. I work in a store that sells video games exclusively *cough* and this game is becoming very very hard to keep on the shelf. Its a good thing.
But more to the point. They are adding new servers and upping the limit. Stuff like this happens. If anyone who is complaining right now even bothered to read Yoshi's latest letter, he said they saw this was going to be an issue during early access and ordered new servers. News flash. Those servers took time to acquire. They also took time to install correctly. They also need to be PROPERLY tested. If they rush this, worse problems could pop up that could possibly ruin the experience for every SINGLE player. Let them test the servers. So instead of everyone moaning and demanding refunds, just wait for the new servers. You all waited til this point to play the game, a little more time could not hurt you. The community understands that many are angry and upset. And complaining on the forums to other players will help accomplish nothing and won't clear up a server spot for anyone. Instead of being furious about full servers, look at the bright side of this; there is a VERY interested player base which means PLENTY of people to make the community thrive and flourish like it should. I'm sure the folks over at SE aren't sitting in their office chairs, eating pigs in a blanket, drinking beer and laughing at their customers. They are just as frustrated as you or I am. As much as you all want to play, they want you to play as well, but with no risks of crashing servers or disturbing anyone's fun. I'm being completely sincere when I say this. Have some trust in them and it could take you a long way in the end.

Yeah it sucks right now. It will get better very soon. You waited this long, you can wait just a day or two more.

For me 14 of those 17 levels were accomplished during the open beta a week prior to early access, would've gotten much higher and on multiple characters if not for the 3102 error that ruined the beta for many, so yeah 10 days in now and only 3 levels here and about 100000 1017 errors lol.

Actually..I think it would be far better to just take the game offline for a couple weeks than to let some people continue unhindered while the other 80%+ of the population is screwed out of their progression. At least that way the game would contain a level playing field (aka non-legacy servers - that was the whole point in my mind). But nope..this game no longer has a level playing field.

I was a druid in Overrated for 3 years and then onto Epitome when I was playing WoW which in order Overrated was US Horde #1 for Vanilla and Epitome/Recount was US Horde Top 25 for BC/Wrath... Believe me... I totally understand, but the launch of a --new-- MMO is not meant to be a race to max level to clear content, most of the end game content for this game hasn't even been fully implemented yet.

Demanding a refund is far from crazy and is actually legit. All of these people that are bashing you for it would be doing the same thing in any other aspect of their lives. When you pay for a service you expect to receive that service.

If a kid knocks on your door and says "Hey, I'll mow your yard for $20". Seems legit. So you hand the kid the money and he starts in on the yard. 15 minutes later he knocks on the door and you notice only 1/4 of the yard is mowed and he says, "Well I've mowed what I'm going to mow for now and I'll "try" to get back in the next couple of weeks and finish the job". I really doubt you will say "Well that seems fair, have a nice day!" Hell no! You will demand your money back and tell all of your friends not to hire this kid because it is a scam.

I love the game and plan on sticking it out. I'm a huge fan of the FF genre, but to those who are demanding the service they paid for and are not receiving it, then yes, getting their money back should be an option.
