*sigh, again, sorry for posting here, but SE has still yet to launch a section for billing questions -.-
Anyone know where I should go to cancel my pre-order? Or is it too late at this point? I've given up.

I bought it from http://store.na.square-enix.co btw
You do realise the game will be up and running very soon? Are you seriously going to quite the game entirely because of these temporary issues?
Oh sorry I meant to say, YEA YOU SHOW THEM!! lol
yeah you can go to your email receipt or www.findmyorder.com it should have a cancel order button
Lol really? Sorry you posted here? No your not. World of Warcraft at launch was really bad. Just think of all the players that said "that's it I want my money back"...yeah they really show'd them huh HAHA.
Do you know how many times they like other MMO's hear "I going to get my money back" and then how many REALLY leave? So stop posting and leave I understand some took time off to play some didn't.
It's not about showing them.
I work for a software development firm myself. Nothing big time like Blizzard or SE, but seriously, enough is enough. None of my clients would even bother put up with this mess. Why should I?
Please refund him, and everyone else. The less stupid people in the game, the better.
You clearly never been to first days of an mmo. Remember Wow or any of it's expensions? Remember Diablo 3?
Clearly you don't.
Actually, i want a refund too. Not because i wont be playing; its because i ordered it again for the specifically advertised early access.
So for me, this is of relevance. Also the EU site wont allow cancelling. I made a Ticket regarding my purchase in will notify Paypal tomorrow.
Well, ill still be playing due to my CE v1.0.
Forgive me but someone said "their clients"? Then you would know this is not the place to ask about money back. You would know the words "Terms of Sale" little things like that.
Now if people had really been around in other MMO's launch you know never to buy the game from them for getting money back is not always easy. Buying from places like Amazon or the like where you just click "cancel" before the 27th.
I suggest you try to contact them not use the forums where we or maybe by some chance a MOD might in the near future see your old post.
People bringing up wow fail to realize that it was 9 years ago, thats a long time and things should have improved since then. Wow launch also wasn't this bad. The server would lag solid some but you could still log in and play. I was on the most populated server at launch and I was still able to play the game and level, it was just inconvenient. In this circumstance people can't even log in to attempt to play. I played d3 from day1 too, literally 0 issues for me, it wasn't a far reaching problem like this.
Dont you think that this is beside the point? And youre out of place with this kind of wording?Quote:
Where was it advertised that it would be the only MMO launch in history without errors?
I never expected a flawless start to begin with. Im here since BETA2 of v1.0. And they KNOW this Problem. But thats also not the point. The point is, while selling the product on their site, they say:
Or in english:Quote:
FRÜHER ZUGRIFF: Greife vor dem offiziellen Start auf die Spielserver zu und drücke als einer der Ersten der Welt von Eorzea deinen Stempel auf.
in the german version, this translates to "access the game servers before the game starts".Quote:
Pre-Order FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn and get early access to the game along with the Cait Sith Doll Minion pet and Mog Cap digital in-game content.
And here we are. Not only bearing 9h total of maintenance, but also getting dickslapped in the face by the soooo slow lifting logon limitation, that most of the EU players have had a chance to play maybe 5h overall. Accessing the servers does not mean "not being able to access the servers". It means what it sounds like: access the servers.
And btw, to clear things up, the game code itself isnt used. I can even provide them with another EA code, if they wish.
So again, tell me, why shouldnt my demand for a refund be legit... Ill look forward to it.
And maybe you can do so based on some thoughts, of facts. Or heck anything, instead of unreflected fanboytalk.
Would be nice. Thanks.

It's not fantalk. Just irritated waiting to get into the game so I can level my arcanist, which I got to 15 from 0 yesterday.
Difference is that I've been in enough mmo's to expect this, the worst offender being WoW and Diablo 3, and choose to direct my nerd rage towards the whiners, very aware that whatever we cry about here won't reach SE.
I can feel you. Really. While it works, its fun. But sadly, it doesnt work for longer phases than Beta 4. Beta3 was more stable :DQuote:

Well nevermind. Im out. gn8
Its funny how all fanboy say that. 1 year ago guild war launch was done without any issue with more costumer. Rift was also perfect (or almost) so stop saying it always like that its a lie. Still trust SE and i know ill have a nice game to play soon but stop spread those lie all around mmo got some issue during launch but only few has been that bad. (wow is dam old you cant compare thing should be better now)

they can cancel charge back whatever you want
Ask at the customer support.Doesn't matter if the code was redeemed, your ffxiv should be deleted (and the permissions for access at the game). You can ask for the refund on the first 14 days after the purchase
They should have run beta phase 4 from start on that Friday to Wednsday, log all reported issues then have 2 solid 48hour days to prepare for launch, however beta was so short they had no idea what would really happen if a few thousand logged in from phase 3 now to a mil or two ppl logging in crashing server over and over again
I also wouldn't have mind if they wiped my char to deal with any critical errors, I delt with it in phase3, but of course most ppl were crying after 2 days of playing they couldn't handle the loss of a lv20ish char and would have to start over, well news flash most of you haven't progressed very far due to all the errors now happening, Before blaming the game maker who you the consumer chose to invest in, spend your money more wisely, and seriously 30$-70$ is nothing to cry over go collect cans in the street for a day for your money back, you'll feel like your doing a quest!
you fanbois are really crazy this is EA Tuesday is the launch do really think that theres gonna be less people on Tuesday OMFG unless a shitload of people decide to refund you'll have a ton more people what the hell are you guys on really, so im guessing you guys think that there just gonna magically get more servers for the thousands of people that are gonna be online Tuesday man the ignorance of some people just astound me.
preordered and was told i would get early access just to be screwed over and not even get a response from support or customer service. this just screams false advertisement
i don't want a refund, i want what was promised in the advertisement and on my receipt
I am in the same boat as ThePassport. F*ck SE. This is round two for me and its the same as Round 1. In both cases, I paid for early release, and now I am stuck with a game I am so fed up with I just want my money back. Don't rag on him for just saying "You sold me a lemon, I want my money back". If you pay for something and its not what was quoted, then you should get your money back. Shame on the internet fools who get everything free and are so used to free when you pay for something and its only a step better than the free sh*t you parade it as the next sliced bread.
Tuesday the servers will burn
I really want to play this game, but I would not want to pay for the game in this state. SE should only start charging money after the servers are stable and that no one has issue logging in and enjoy the content as intended.
so if we evidently find out that, say, 5th September onward everyone could play the content at anytime they want, then that's when Early Access ends and the game starts eating up your first 30 day subscription.
doubt this is going to happen though, but if anyone wants to make a giant petition I'll put my name down.
Yes, I remember WoW's "expensions." They restart the servers to initiate the new content. You wait in a short queue, get back in and then head to the new continent. WoW's launches have been flawless (for an MMO) for awhile now. Diablo 3 had the disadvantage of being far more popular than FFXIV has been, in either incarnation.
I remember the same people saying this for 1.0. It clearly worked for SE right? Who cares if people are quitting, I didn't want them to play anyway!Quote:
Please refund him, and everyone else. The less stupid people in the game, the better.
I did the same thing, also with GMG. I'm within their 7 days period so hopefully I'll at least get store credit.
I'm already playing Rift, Guild Wars 2, SW:TOR and TSW, and I'm on a break from Diablo 3 and WoW. I've played a lot of MMOs since their respective launches and it's the worst one I've seen so far given that we're in 2013 and most people have downloaded the game already (was a problem when people were downloading while others tried playing).
Of course the game will/might be better in a few weeks once they've fixed stuff (i.e. when enough people aren't re-subbing or got refunded), but with the current market of MMOs where most are F2P or Pay Once, IF you still decide to go with a subscription plan like FFXIV did, you better have the infrastructure to support everyone. And I also count the customer support and PR people addressing issues, not just "thanking us for our patience" (it has limits).
I was willing to give the game a chance, but not anymore. Everything from registering my EA code to trying the beta and then accessing what I've paid for has been a nightmare. Done with it.
This was already told to you previously, but not every MMO has had these issues occur.
However, the main point of my post, is that I would like to congratulate you on being a terrible consumer. Because of ideals like this on how games should be made, you and other terrible money spenders like yourself have thrown money into an industry that has become complacent with allowing themselves to release sub par, or a completely broken product, and think it's alright to fix it later (Patch, DLC), or not fix it at all.
A beta test is one thing. However, we are now at the stage, where a person pays for a product and expects to use that product whenever, and however he or she uses unless previously stated. And the terms and conditions of this early access were not based on a population limitation of those logged into their respective servers.
But hey, if broken games are something you want to throw money into, there's a ton of Aliens: Colonial Marines for sale you can buy somewhere.
fuck me these drips that cry about other mmo's failed launches, yes wow was bad but fuck me that was 2005 when servers were crap and computers was also !!! and the programming code wasn't even fully developed in those days for big scale games in 3D worlds. this is 2013, they have the most qualified technical people in the world they know programming inside and out, why do you people feel the need to defend SE?? why brown nose? WE know there will be bugs etc but its 2013 like I said with the world best servers and highly technical staff the launch should not be an issue especially not in todays technological advanced world of electronics and programming capabilities.
Personally I really don't see how hard it is to give people codes out for games they have purchased, you buy a game from steam.. instant code, origin, instant code, amazon instant code, any other reputable company instant code ! so what's SE failings and what is your failings in defending them? I really don't get people like you, although I would love to sell you any product in real life because you fall for the veil of any BS about the product to believe in it enough to pay for it.
