Early Access code - Wrong Region

So I received my code and all that, to register for early access but it claims my code is for the wrong region, I bought an EU copy, now for whatever reason my account is stuck as being registered in "The Americas" so apparently it won't work, is there any way that I can fix my account region?

This whole account/region process has been rather needlessly confusing and complicated since Beta.

Also having this issue. Still no word from support.

Any update on this would be very much appreciated, Devs! D:

Customer Support cancelled my request when I was next in line, because of the topic. It seems there are hundreds of people in that service queue with the same problem

I'm guessing they're sick of answering our wrong region code thing =/

No one really expect them to use a region ONLY code when it is a region free game..yea..

since i think this whole problem stems from the account being created with their social site defaulting to EU, i'm going to see if they can't "reset" my preorder code and let me try to re-register it with my now NA account.

That's awful! I'm currently 34, let's see if mine goes through.

I re-queued to see if the same thing will happen again. It's another 90-120 minute wait :| Good luck.

They told me it's a BETA issue. smh

Its been fixed since yesterday. You just re-submit your 18 digit code and it gives you a proper NA one. Make sure your social site settings are correctly set to US.

Re-tried 3x today, still same issue. It's not fixed for everyone

So it seems the general consensus is they refuse to change your account region, I wonder why that is.
I emailed them myself, curious to see if I'll get a reply.

At the very least you would think that they could help us out by giving us a code that is valid for the region our account is set to.

I haven't heard anyone who had the correct social site settings not get a proper NA key, but I suppose anything is possible. I know the biggest hold up is the social site likes to log you into the EU version of the site and not the NA version, it also likes to set your language to English (UK) instead of English (US).

Ive done everything and still getting eu codes when I should be getting NA codes. This is depressing

Same here. I've repeatedly made sure all my settings in the profile are set to US, I make sure it's the NA site, and the link is pointing to NA not EU, always the same EU code.

i keep getting the same code over and over when i try and each time it is an invalid code and i found that it was the EU code..... SE needs to fix this or at least give us an update already! it's been 2 days since they said they would keep us updated and they haven't done anything.... Starting to lose my faith in this game.... even 1.0 had a better early access launch than this and that's depressing....

Pretty frustrating. I've went to change my region settings on my account numerous times. It just keeps bouncing back to English (UK). I don't know if that's the main issue.. But no matter what I do I cannot seem to get myself the NA 20 digit code. I've gotten about 10 emails in my inbox with the EU RAAE code from SE because I've submitted so many times haha.

Unfortunately I have the exact opposite situation as the OP - I am NA and no matter what I do, my settings keep changing me back to being UK. So all I get are EU codes, despite the fact that my official account says The Americas. :/

If you guys can't get your regions fixed, I'll be happy to trade my EU (PC) code for someone's NA, sigh...

My issue is I'm in the EU, I bought an EU copy of the game from the Store, got the EA code (Which I assume is EU) But the site they gave in the email says that the code is the wrong region, unfortunately my account is apparently set to the Americas for some reason, I don't know if I just didn't pay attention or what, but I should be able to use the code I got with my game, otherwise there's a real problem here, being able to buy EU products with an account apparently set to America.

I have also tried everything I can to get this working and it keeps spitting an EU code at me. Support seems to think I need to check my junk folder.... I already received the email with the wrong code genius. Darktimelordx has a point. The 1.0 early release was WAY smoother than this. Can the moderators please get on the horn with somebody that can actually help us? Please give us a detailed explanation about what is wrong and how to fix it, or just fix it on your end....for real this time. If one more person tells me to check my junk folder I'm going to lose it.

The 20 digit codes are region locked and have to match the region of your account. All EU codes start with RAAE and all NA codes start with RAAU. If your account region is wrong I assume you will need to contact them and get it fixed. Posting here isn't going to do that.

This is honestly pretty poor if they're cancelling tickets instead of responding to them. That, to me, says that they're deliberately robbing you of your money.

I now have like 20 emails from SE containing the same damn useless code. What's interesting though is not all of them are exactly identical. A couple had a grammar slip, one used a violet font color. one came from noreply@xmail.square-enix.com while the rest from noreply@xmail.eu.square-enix.com. one had no (PS3) written next to the code. some had a California address at the bottom and the rest a London address. Yeah I'm pretty bored and unfortunately the one I'd want to see changed remains the same.

Well I am aware of that, the issue is they apparently don't want to let people change account regions, which is what the issue for a lot of people, on top of the others straight up being given codes for the wrong region.

It's a bit soon to be jumping to "THEY'RE ROBBING US", but yes cancelling them is not great, hopefully that just means they're trying to do something about it and we simply have to wait.

I am okay with waiting as long as I know progress is being made.

How are you getting more than one email?

I finally chatted with live support, who asked a lot of questions, my id, my 18 code, my 20 code, etc, then finally just said, "Thank you for the information. This is a known issue we are doing our best to fix. Our goal is to have everyone playing by the 24th. Please keep an eye on the FFXIV site and twitter page for any updates."

edit: they did ask which sqex id i wanted the early access applied to before saying it's a known issue... so perhaps if they dont fix it, they'll have a manual application or something...

If it's an EU code, it should start with RAAE. If it's a NA code, it starts with an RAAU. I have an EU RAAE code for PC. If you have an RAAU code, I'll trade you - that should solve the issue really.

They all just started coming in a few hours ago with timestamps from yesterday. And I think if you try the code again now, you get an email right away, (I just got one a few minutes after my last try) so it seems like the server load issue has been fixed. But our codes are not and it's not even mentioned on the preorder page which is now being updated regularly with a message in red text.

Guys if you have a PS3 code and got EU instead of NA. NO ONE can fix your code except SE. NO ONE. The "Change your language" thing WILL NOT work. You must wait until SE fixes it (if at all)

first of i had the same problem gave me a EU code twice for early acces the 20 digit code a few thing worker first of delete you history completely(or use incognito) and try again so it dosnt keep bringing you to the same spot. second go to your profile on square enix site where you see your games and change your language to english US or UK or wte if you have UK as language that for some reason has been default for us it will keep sending you to the eu website. if you do these thing when you enter your 18 digit code it should give you the EA code 20 digit right there on that page without waiting on the email and it should work work for me and three of my friends.

By delete history you mean the browser cache? And where does the second code come from?
The only one I have seen is the Early Access code, I don't recall getting another.

the first code is your pre order code(found in your receipt) then when its entered right in the preorder code page it will send you a email and also show it to you after its been entered correctly that code is for early access
i didnt delete my history i just use incognito window on google chrome and it did the trick

in that case not sure what else to tell you cause all these have worked for several people including my friends

And you double checked the social site actually had you logged into NA and not EU? You can click the dropdown on the preorder redeem page and hover over the links there for profile and settings. Make sure the links are na.square-enix.com and not eu.square-enix.com

Yup, edited my profile to add name/country/language. And always moused over profile to make sure it was pointing to NA not EU before entering code


edit: I'm wondering if it has to do with when you first entered the code. I first got mine to go through early morning the 21st. I've seen a number of ppl who entered it the first time later managed to fix theirs.
