probably just Summoner. They have only mentioned that they want to add a bunch of others, but since they haven't made any announcements, the chance of them being in at release is minimal.

neither and both. Just like in 1.0, you'll be able to DPS and tank.

the reason is: they are NOT combat classes, so they should NOT combat.

the game is a fan service game, and they'll eventually (probably) add most previously released major jobs, and maybe new ones. DRK and NIN are popular jobs, and are high on priority list. Right now they want to add more mages first, since there's much less DoM than DoW. i guess maybe within half a year after release they will add some new jobs, by patches.
Gladiator won't suddenly be able to use 2h swords; if DRK comes from GLD, they DRK will use sword/shield too.

They haven't confirmed Spanish (language) (or Italian for that matter) (see below). In fact, I think they've actually said no to it for now, elsewhere. :/

hmmmm, didnt they say in live letter VI, that phase 3 would be in all those languages?

The reason for asking this was for an answer better than "Probably not".
The ACN/SCH fiasco needs clarification for one, even though I'm sure they'll announce it soon if they do intend on adding it in for launch but that's besides the point. I know people are curious whether they have plans to add any new classes soon (DoH/L included) so I left the question vague. If they have nothing to say on the matter then they won't answer the question.

And frankly your reaction to some of the questions was generally rude and uncalled for, for example LlenCoram's question about fishing and temperature. We KNOW that weather has an effect on fishing, and in XI different RL seasons increased the frequency of certain weather types in game, so it's by no means a question that should receive such a condescending remark. Sure, the maps won't change with the seasons but that wasn't really the question, was it?

Scholar fiasco...it's just people over analyzing stuff :)
But since they want to add some casters before DoWs, Scholar might be next in line.

and the post exists, to answer peoples questions; that Yoshi probably wont answer, or have answered already.
so i think it's better if people ask here first, and if there's no answer, then you can post it in LL-VII thread.

But seriously, a lot of these questions were asked because they need an actual answer; I know some of them HAVE already been answered, but maybe you could just respond to the ones which we do know the answers to, instead of just answering them with speculation. After all, isn't that what we're trying to avoid? More speculation?

Just seems to me like a lot of things answered with "maybe" and "possibly" are quite redundant here, since those questions you answered as such are the ones we need answers to in the first place =b

Seriously. Speculation sucks. I avoid it at all costs and it annoys me greatly.

That being said, I'm going to "speculate" here at the comment by OP that we are "over analyzing" the SCH thing (that "Wheel pic" I presume.)

(Here comes the speculation! Disclaimer: It is just my opinion, and not stated as fact!) We are not over-analyzing the SCH thing. That pic IS OF SCH AF. If that image is from a legitimate source, I will be surprised if SCH at launch/first patch is not confirmed very soon. I'm not going to speculate what class it comes from, though. :p

ya i know speculations are bad :p
but i think it's safe to assume that they wont answer anything about scholar, until they at least make some official notice about it; so it just feels pointless to ask about it. At most they might say: oh we might be adding scholar at some time in the future :)
When i say *probably* only summoner will be in at release, it's cause i'm 99% sure it will be. Arcanist isn't even finished yet, which is why they can't show anything about it, so since no other class has even been talked about, the chance of any more jobs being there at release, is very small. But as you said, thats just speculations too :p it kinda depends on when the game will launch.
But this is also why i roll my eyes at some questions, and occasionally end up with those snide remarks -.- and why i didn't ask any questions myself yet :)
i just think people should think their questions over, a bit, before posting them; and i should think about my replies first ^^

well i meant over analyzing it, as in: it's just arcanist, or is it 2nd job for arcanist, is it sage, why does it have book, it looks like this or that class, no it's scholar, no it's not, bicker bicker :)
She holds a book, and has scholar AF (as if the hat didn't look scholarly enough) ofc it's scholar :) now we just wait for official info on it (which yoshi won't do in LL, cause PR team gonna chop his head off :))

Is there a chance that servers will become "full" and we could be locked out of a server previously agreed upon among our friends, allowing well organized friends and linkshells to actually get separated, despite all planning efforts? What measures will be put in place to make sure that this will not happen?

Will 1.0 or Legacy characters have a first server choice or some type of priority to select from the worlds/servers that are reserved for existing/imported characters (not "new character servers")?

I think you'll get the info before OB :) it's still a bit away.
They would stab themselves in the foot, if they didn't give people time to organize their LS, and plan what servers to go to etc.

They have mentioned that you'll be able to change server during first 6 month or such; as to how many times, i dont know.

there will just be regional servers, but i'm sure (as it tends to be in other games) that US servers will be international servers, where N/S US, EU etc gather. You can ofc pick whichever server you want, except the new ones, unless you want to make new chars there.

Well...i think they mentioned that duty finder is cross-server...not sure. If so there wont be quiet-times.
Even though in WoW you can party, and even chat with people, cross server...i'm unsure if that will be possible, at least at launch. Something to suggest otherwise.

I don't think SE can or will do anything specific to combat full servers, like that.
maybe they will keep a limit on how many chars can be made on any one server, to begin with, as to spread out people equally, and over time raise nr of people on a server.
So i guess, if such a thing happens, you might need to wait for them to increase the limit.
Or maybe support could help you out.
But well, you got all of phase 4 to sort it out :)

Hmm, well it depends on if we need to pick final server again after phase 4, or not.
If not, legacy wont get first, cause i assume phase 4 starts at same time for all.
Otherwise legacy get early access (possibly^^) and can pick whichever server, first.
And they aren't reserved to legacy/1.0. new people can join *old* servers too, but you cant import 1.0 chars to *new* servers.

I think it's good questions, that need answer.
But they always talk about housing instead ^^
But yah, i think all this will be clarified before phase 4.
From the link about transfer, i'm reading that as: you can server-swap freely, for a time, so that you'll end up where you want to.

but really...they said in last live letter, that even Limsa isn't finished, it's common sense that Crystal Tower, and Bahamut Labyrinth are not finished (and common sense aside, they have said themselves, that it's not finished)

Most of what you said "isn't finished" may have been said a few months ago, but still might not be the case. There are videos of devs/players using ARC in Alpha/Beta, and ARC isn't finished yet, either. ACN was actually "finished" (as much as the other jobs) months back, and the only reservation they had was about whether SMN would be, but we've been told that ACN/SMN gameplay would be previewed to us before Phase 3 starts, so if it's not in the live letter then it will be at E3.

yes, they said they'd make videos of all classes, so new people will know what it's about; my point is, they won't show it in LL. So instead of asking questions about it in LL thread, we can wait until they show the class videos :)
ofc there's the chance that class vids come before LL, and phase 3 start after LL (like phase 1-2 did) in which case, you'll know about Arcanist before LL; which would still make the questions pointless.
if they show arcanist in LL, then the class video would be a bit pointless instead.
it's a matter of PR, and the PR team wont let Yoshi show arcanist in LL.
can you point to any vid, where someone is playing with arcanist? i havent seen any of those.

ARC = Archer
ACN = Arcanist

Yoshi has said that Archer isn't finished, but it was still bring played in Alpha/Beta

ARC has been around a long time already though, and ACN is new, and ACN is Limsa class, so it wasn't available for those reasons. It would be odd to leave out ARC from beta, since it's Grid class.
it would be nice if ACN was available in ph3, but i doubt it. I think they wanna release it when it's all polished up, as not to give it a crappy first impression.

No no no, you missed my point. You were saying that ACN hasn't been shown since it was unfinished (months ago) and that's the reason we haven't been shown it, when in fact ARC has been in a much worse position yet they let new people play it without reservation so saying that about ACN is a moot point.

We know ACN wasn't available to play in Beta, and it's not just because it was an LL class, Yoshi has stated a long time back that the class won't be released until Launch; polishing it up has nothing to do with it, since none of the classes are polished at all. That's kind of the point of Beta =b

You were saying that ACN hasn't been shown since it was unfinished (months ago) and that's the reason we haven't been shown it, when in fact ARC has been in a much worse position yet they let new people play it without reservation so saying that about ACN is a moot point.

We know ACN wasn't available to play in Beta, and it's not just because it was an LL class, Yoshi has stated a long time back that the class won't be released until Launch; polishing it up has nothing to do with it, since none of the classes are polished at all. That's kind of the point of Beta =b

well even last LL, they said they were still working on the pet.
and it is/was unfinished, since it's a completely new class.
ARC has been around since start of 1.0. there's no reason to *hide* it. they are hiding ACN, cause it's new and unfinished.
How do you know ARC was in worse condition than ACN? ^^ For all we know, pet might have been unusable; they were still working on it last LL.
As for how ARC works in beta, that's nothing that can be talked about here :)

you wont have to redo anything. all progress has been saved.
they talked about it last live letter, and all they said was the above, and it's will be easier to follow what you need to do.

hmm they said that items will have slots, that you fill with materia. higher tier items have more slots. you can put in more materias than you got slots, and that's multi-melding. items have stat caps, depending on tier, so you shouldn't go all out of STR materias, for DRG or whatever melee. would be nice with pvp materias, with some abilites or such, other than that...think it's just stat-stacking for now.
also you can put any materia in any gear; so it's not limited to str in only weps, and gloves, or such.

XIV is funded by SE itself, so they won't need to go f2p.
XI did well for 10years already, and is still p2p. ARR will probably be even more successful.

CT, and BL aren't even planned for launch, so why would they show summoner action in there? (they said this already)
Yoshi is always getting in trouble for showing stuff; such as, he was not supposed to show the water area in Limsa....that's a small thing, but it's not finished (he said that himself), so he's not supposed to show it. Same with CE box.
He didn't show anything of Coerthas...because it's not finished (and that's planned for launch, they have said this before)
so again...what makes you think they'd show anything of CT, or BL?

Your "common sense" is broken. They would never show us something that isn't finished?
