WTF now i cant log into my account, says "

and it wants you to have them send you an email to change your PW but i dont have the email linked to my account... so basically im fucked?

How do you not have an email linked to your account. That's your own fault if you used a fake address, SE gave ample warning about the new login securities, and that they would require verification in case of suspected compromised account. I would be looking to find that email address that you used if I were you.

Did you forget? SE step up in security like a month ago which they ask you to please have a email link to your account and make sure you know the pw for it. You get this error because you log in the forums and then try and log in FFXIV.
Don't blame SE for something you did. -

You can call the square enix support line and ask for them to manually reset it. They'll ask you questions to confirm ID.
Google the phone number. You'll get routed all over the place. -

If you submit a ticket in SE support center you can eventually get the phone number that way. It's just literally an insane maze of stuff you have to go through before they will give the phone number to you. They try to solve your problem with stupid FAQ's and stuff first. You basically have to trick it into giving you the phone number to call, but once you get it you already have a ticket# so you dont have to wait on hold as long.

Someone that is not you may have tried to log into FFXIV several times and failed.
SE may have been trying to send FFXIV related news, newsletters, updates, or some such sort to the account's e-mail and was unsuccessful. And nows they want you to verify something didn't happen to you (I.e. someone hijacks your SE accountm changes the email address on file, now SE is holding up all activity until it's verified). -
