Don't worry over it. By expanding it to personal housing they will most likely kill off any reason (profit) to do it in the first place.

If it all remains the same and a cut-down "lite" version isn't implimented for personal homes, I am not sure that too many players have the resiliance to attempt that 6+ month harvesting-fest and level-grind. And those that do, will likely be into it already.

And no Shibi it doesn't take 6 months to get submarines running. Then again i kept up with each step as they happened as our fc's ship master.

There is no rng in the xp you get from each voyage and there is worthwhile stuff at much lower levels of submarine then max level.
Airships are even easier since they cap at 50.

First on the time, on the loot after this:

No - you are correct - there isn't much RNG in the XP outside the unlocks for the sectors to get that better XP plus sub 2, 3, and 4 to get them rolling.

Then as you will know, after you are past level 10 its not really possible to get more than one level per deploy on speed and on an optimal route, with the lumps at 80, 85, and 90 that take two/three deploys.

This very common and simple middle tier deploy will get you one level:

Drift makes that slide towards 2 days every few days.

Those of us who have done it a lot - like you and me - can load in speedier levelling parts - as you know - and shave a little time off, but I still stand by my estimate that your average beginner won't be as optimised as you or me, and will be spending around 6 months (180 days) levelling them to 100.

Maybe you have more faith in the will and intelligence of your average player.

As for loot, and if it stays the same and a lite version isn't implimented:

For worthwhile stuff at lower levels, with market flooding it will be similar to how combed rugs or marine ester wax - or even treasure piles and boules - were originally. Over 100,000g one day and 60g the next week.

And as for airships - if that goes in with no change, and with such old, old, old content - well, it will be wonderful for gardeners wanting oriental grass tufts and the like, the price for those will fall to sub-1000g in no time!

Six months is fairly accurate for a new sub to get caught up. Our FC was lucky and moved into our FC house on April 16th (our plot wasn't hit by the 0 bug). I had our first sub and airship built and sent out same day. My highest ranked sub at this point is 84- because I broke down and bought a few modified parts for it since I was past 50 and not having any luck unlocking the modified schematic. Without that shortcut, the sub probably would still be sub 80 at this point.

RNG does suck. It's not so much the sector unlock but getting the materials needed to unlock the schematics to build upgrades. I still don't have enough Cocobolo Lumber to unlock the modified schematics for all that I have my second highest sub farming for it with correct surveillance, right favor for double dip and optimal Retrieval as per the sub loot spreadsheet from the discord. There's a big difference between trying to go straight to 100 without stopping and having a couple of months to farm before the next 5 level increase is added.

It's taken around 3 weeks to max out every time they raised the level cap, so 6 months sounds right for someone that knows what they are doing

Have to wonder what the XIVhousing man (sorry forgot his name lol :S) feels about this. AFAIR wasn't he upset with the fact that Yoshida promised that FC/personal housing would be separated whilst right now it's currently not? If workshops come to personal housing that bridges the gap even more between FC and personal housing. At that point all that would be missing for personals is the FC buffs and additional private chambers I think.

And the demo removal from any FC member entering.
And the ability to leave the game and hand over ownership to an officer.
And the ability to invite one's alts in as officers.
And the second teleport point - home and apartment making the other 2 cheapies.


But I don't expect to see it for ages, and then the more I think about it, to be quite different to the FC one. I mean; Imagine it as a dock on the EW island with lite missions. Something to return mats and tokens for that endevour and fueled by what one does on the island. Taking the self contained relaxing part a bit more.

Doing it that way, would also detach it from ward housing too then, and mean every single EW complete person - house or not - can do island missions in their island subs and island airships.

unless youre going max speed for leveling, yes it takes a while, im leveling my 4th submarine right now, so i dont think its worth crafting alle the parts with max speed anymore.

I'm so ready for this. I have an FC workshop already, but I wanna get one for my home as well. Scale it down for solo players to benefit from.

'Housing' or 'houses'? Because if it's the latter, I can predict a fair amount of salt from people on the more congested servers where houses are in short supply.

If it's housing, that is going to have an interesting effect on the Market Boards because there are going to be so many people getting items that used to be fairly exclusive.
I'm not sure if it's going to be detrimental to FCs, because I've seen so many people complaining that their FC leads never share any of their loot with the general membership (why stick around with such horrible people?). Nice FCs are going to have even less to offer their members though, and there is very little content for FCs as it is.

I agree that people are probably going to be shocked at the amount of work involved in making the vessels and the time it takes to level them.

Another great idea from SE about housing that will definitely fix our issues by... adding more demand into a system where there's already orders of magnitude more demand than supply, and no plans to increase supply?
People were hoping to see gardening expanded so players without houses could grow onions, not have more systems locked behind the arbitrary luck of getting a house.

There's nothing to prevent a workshop from being attached to apartments if SE wants all players to get access.

And speaking of onions, it would be interesting to see how many of those players who got a house in the early stages of the lottery and said they were going to start growing onions are still doing it.

I have a tenant who is a friend and FC mate of mine, growing stuff in the garden (I gave him the basement and the yard to play with) I should ask him if he has any intentions of growing any onions. To the best of my knowledge though, he seemed more interested in growing stuff that would help with his omni-crafting.

There are a few items. Broombush, Blood Pepper, Glazenuts Royal Fern are the more popular ones in addition to Jute when it comes to items needed for crafting. Halone Gerbera, Azeyma Rose, Nymeia Lily, Umbrella Fig, and the Mandragora seeds (the actual seeds) have very limited use in crafting so generally aren't grown unless being used for crossbreeding to get other seeds.

I guess I didn't really consider those so much cause they are not really used in a lot of recipes.

Rather them bring submarine to island sanctuary. Housing is dead end content and the developers need to stop making them.

It reads like a bad translation. When they actually release that information in detail that I can read without use of translators, I'll believe it when I read it.

If this is a thing - everyone talking about crashing the market - it could be a thing maybe similar to Island Sanc. currency that you can only buy items specific to you. There is always that possibility. I mean look at the huge blowup of shit posts about the 'apology' pictures and predicting the absolute worst outcome for them, but was proven to be the complete opposite of the doomsayers. SE still has that capability of surprising everyone.

Do you really expect them to make a brand new feature for personal house owners rather than just port/copy the workshop feature? I doubt it. It will be the same feature with perhaps a restriction or two.

I envision them making the same thing, without the crafting built in and the loot table to be different at the very least. If they do not, that's just some pure laziness and IDGAF attitude towards housing. Well, now that I say it out loud...

If you won't be able to build your airships/subs, how do you 'envision' players obtaining them? MB? An Gil sink via vendors?

I still think attached to EW Island (with EW island rewards) is best. You get a quest from Nekomimi-san to find a wrecked submarine on a distant shore at level 20, and then gather the materials to repair it, and have them craft it over a month or two.
