PLZ, Make SMN's Physick scales with INT just like RDM's heal for the fairness!

SE can simply add a trait that will make physick scales with INT.
Or SE can just make SMN's Physick scales with INT by default while Arcanist's Physick remains scale with the MIND.
This way, SMN's Physick isn't obsolete anymore.
Why give Arcanist a healing skill that becomes a joke once it becomes SMN?
RDM has a heal. A potent heal compared to SMN's physick.
Why can't SMN have one?
It is a super easy fix and at the same time, it isn't a game-breaking advantage for the SMN. It doesn't affect the balance of the job.

Vercure is, as you put it, "a potent heal compared to SMN's physick"; however, it's not really a potent heal outside of its comparison to Physick. In party content, if a RDM casts Vercure on someone it does not change the number of heals an actual healer will have to use to keep the party alive in a fight; and if the healer dies, it won't delay a wipe any longer than just casting Verraise would. In practice, a change to Physick to match Vercure would not change the outcome of any serious content and so what you're asking for would be a change that only affects (a) content that is already so simple that no DD should have to spend a GCD on healing anyway and (b) soloing, which is not balanced to be fair anyway.

We know Vercure is just a clutch heal, yes. Since it doesn't really impact balance in any meaningful way, what then would be the harm in making Physick have the same actual potency?

A small indie company such as Squeenix cant be bothered with trivial things such as SMN having a proper working Healing spell which would completely proof the fact even moreso on how unnecessary Healers truly are in their current state.

So yeah, lets have the summoner keep a completly useless shitty skill that heals for ~450 HP on lvl 90.
If your argument is that vercure is "useless" then we can remove that as well right, we can also remove the resurrection from Summoner and red Mage, because it is not the DPS job to rezz people and if you need to rezz youre doing something wrong in the first place .

Trust me, very few Red Mages would cry if Vercure had literally 0 potency. It's only use is preparing a dualcast from downtime. And yes, they should have removed rezzes long ago.

I don't understand the obsession with Physick. Just don't slot it. It's useless. With potency or without.

You need jobs to have self sustain for solo content, but if you only do raids it probbaly is irrelevant to you.

Agree that SMN should get a buff to physick to make it non-obselete, but disagree how vercure is just a potent heal.

Vercure is a flexible tool that makes sense in the RDM toolkit because of both dualcasting for priming long cast-time skills in transitions and for dualcasting verraise out of combat (think Eureka, Bozja, Heaven on High). This skill is what highlights the core strength of RDM itself, which makes weak healing have a use in its toolkit. The key strength isn't the heal, but the heal is a bonus addition for a GCD that fits into the lore and gameplay.

Plus, it just naturally flows better after introducing Magicked Barrier increasing the heal. Using Vercure for strictly healing might not ever get usage in raids, but it does give some solo play and strengthen its lore identity, which makes the job feel complete. It feels worse to have the weak heal become even more obsolete.

For SMN to compete with RDM's Vercure, SMN's Physick needs to be adjusted in such a way that it offers some form of utility outside of just being a low potency heal on INT. The problem is not entirely the heal itself, but how the skill itself should interact with the job's toolkit in addition to the heal. Just the heal alone won't give anything substantial to justify it. It would be a good change, but still a half-assed one in my opinion. A low potency GCD heal that doesn't offer anything else only serves to annoy your healers if they see it being casted, and the effect of relying on Physick to survive in solo play is even worse because it's the equivalent of using Cure 1 and emptying out your MP while the enemies are slapping you to death. No, if SMN gets a change for Physick, it has to offer some strategic value in a party setting, but not a straight-up potency gain by replacing a healer.

Oh, but if they really go increase survivability to all DPS jobs, they better be giving DPS skills to healers anyway since healers are getting more sidelined than ever before for having other jobs do their healing for them.

You can also pretend that everyone on your group is YoshiP's gift to gaming and never make mistakes but that's also not true for most. Otherwise we would have delayed raise years ago. Vercure has a place.

Why not min max the entire battle system where we only have one button labelled 'resolve'. Only then will everyone be truly equal and therefore happy. lol

In all honesty, if Vercure is so horrible to use for some then just don't press it. Pat on the back, you don't need it. Stop asking for jobs to become more monotonous. I don't need yet another [increase DPS by x%].

Just thinking back, but I remember back during their marketing for Endwalker the director specifically reassured players that Physick for Summoners was staying. And the immediate question that sprang to mind was "Ok, but is it scaling off Int now instead of Mind so it's not useless?". The answer come EW launch was a hilarious "no".

Yes RDM's cure is weak, but I can recall many times when it actually came in useful. Yeah it's not part of your normal rotation but it does turn the tides in those clutch moments.

I can't think of any times SMN's Physick was useful, outside of below-60 content.

This forum has a huge obsession with wanting every single button be in the normal rotation - if it's not constantly needed in end-game raiding it shouldn't even exist. I don't get it either.

Yeah, that's the part I don't get. I do min ilvl stuff and raid and we always screw up until we don't. That's what makes it fun! :D

I don’t get why they don’t just delete it. Like either make it an actual skill, or remove it. Summoner has the fewest “skills”‘ out of any job in the game.

So... make it transform during the various summons? Basically be each Summon's utility button. During Pheonix it could offer a powerful single target regen effect (as summoning phoenix already applies a regen effect to the party), during Bahamut it could apply a vulnerability debuff on the enemy, during Titan it could apply stoneskin, during Ifrit it could apply a potent dot, during Garuda it could buff haste (though that would probably just mean for optimization you do Garuda before Ifrit so the Haste speeds up the Ifrit casts).

I don't know what level of party content you're talking about, but I have occasionally had to save dungeon runs by stepping in as healer while the actual healer is dead or reviving or disconnected.

Of course it's not a strong heal and it's not what you want to be using to keep the party alive long-term, but it's functional. Physick is not.

Because dumbing down the game just so people don't make any mistakes at sub 60 levels has been such a stellar design direction so far.

It’s still really bizarre to me that Red Mage gets a decent heal, but Summoner’s is still absolutely pathetic and doesn’t really help for any instances besides maybe Satasha.

The fact that they kept physick with the summoner despite the major rework is like a big slap in the face,
physick will never be useful to the summoner with the way it was implemented and remains since the beginning of the arcanist, they should have removed it in 6.0,
but instead they plan to remove the ressurection in 7.0, honestly sometimes I feel like the devs have a serious kit design problem with the summoner,
they give us overheal with phoenix useless 80% of the time, a useless physick since the beginning of the game that they dont delete after a major rework,
and an unfairly low dps that is not justified given the utility restrictions and a raidbuff far too thin to compete with the bard or the dancer,
if they want the summoner to be a support mage, they need to drastically increase the utility kit, otherwise they have to review what is really useful or not, and increase the damage.

This is by far the most interesting suggestion I've seen.

There is some fine raider tunnel vision here. Vercure sees little to no use (as a healing skill) in harder content, but this doesn't mean it isn't good in other content like Eureka. SMN already has Physick, so no reason to not make it worth something.

"Just don't slot it". Thanks, I'm sure people already don't have it on their bars and/or don't use it. It doesn't change the fact that an useless skill has been existing for years, even after a rework. What are we supposed to think of the devs and the job design?

Even tho i dont touch this job anymore. If i ever would, i would still wanna keep physick on my hotbar. purely for meme reasons XD.
Imagine you have been wiping for 20th time and just to have a little fun, you just start spamming physick on healer to confuse them.

It is funny though. Of all the thing removed from summoner. This is one thing that stayed and isnt even adjusted. You would start to think that even dev think this meme of a button needs to stay on summoner purely for that.

RDM main here. I’ve literally never used vercure to keep someone alive. It’s almost exclusively a downtime tool. I cast it on myself during downtime so when the boss comes back I get an instant fire/aero. Summoner doesn’t have anything comparable to dualcast so physick should just be removed.

Wha? By your way of thinking, Vercure and Clemency should also get the chop as well...

Also not to mention that all of these spells are really useful in Deep Dungeons, which is something planned for this expansion.

Personally, Id rather physick was removed. In my opinion, SMN shouldnt be the utililty heavy caster, it should instead sit between red mage and Black Mage and as such, Physick should be removed. This is also why the utility SMN can currently provide is very limited.

I vercured a tank, once. The ast tiped "REALLY?!?!?!" and i was kicked soon After. I have never vercured anyone again (except my friends)

There is a legitimate argument to buff or replace Physick if Red Mage has Vercure. Whether buffing Physick will be useful or not is irrelevant--Physick compared to Vercure is not balanced and makes Summoer players feel like they have been short changed. Bring Physick to the same level as Vercure or replace it with something else that can be used. It seems reasonable, to me, that buffing Physick to the same level as Vercure is the simplest route.

Honestly I would totally embrace that Phsyick Phoenix version being the actual Everlasting Flight as an ability. It would certainly be more useful under the SMN's control... and the job, for one, got abundant weaving slots during phoenix phase.

What if: Physick scaled off intelligence and was morphed into a new off gcd button while phoenix OR rekindle was active?

Weird but Creative Suggestion: Upgrade Physick and Revive into King Moggle Mog Egi with an increased potancy to healing on both spells. That way, visually, SMN has more abilities that revolve around its summons, while also making SMN's Revive more beneficial when compared to RDM's double cast free Revive. Like, give SMN's Moggle Mog Revive spell a 20%30% HP restoration to the target party member for something.

That would be nice. Maybe even give SMN a AoE healing spell that upgrades when summoning Phoenix, too, so that way it can function as a temporary healer if its parties Healers are down and SMN/RDM can't Revive them for whatever reason.

Lol, sorry. I meant King Moggle Mog not having a gem, but functioning sort of how the Egi did before without them, except with the current way they are summoned for just one big attack. But in King Moggle Mog's case, he just shows up to heal and revive party members and disappears afterwards.

Certain Egi added later on, at least to myself, would be est off functioning like that. With no gem related to them, but instead are either conjured up as an entirely seperate ability from the gem system and other Egi being summoned based on what combination of elemental egi you use before hand that'd give you access to an additional that represents more than one element Egi.

Like, after summoning Titan and Ifrit, you gain a bonus summon option in the form of Ravana setting of his own signature ape attack. Or to summon Bismark, you would need to first call for Garuda, Ramuh and Leviathan before hand.

Ah okay, so you want king moogle mog to be indepedent, sort of like its own meter?
That could actually be very useful as a sort of thing summoner has access to help in case of emergency.
For resurrection purpose, might be useful for modifying the rez button, such as being able to revive as an instant cast, but still costs 2500 mp, mostly so its not quite a healer lb3.

As for other ones, they could in theory add more, demi summons like ravana or bismark.

Mostly contemplating it from playing summoner myself and knowing that simple potency changes, while helpful, are not exactly fixing core issues with their kit.
Such as with physick here feeling out of place.
