When will the housing bug be fixed?

Anyone knows? Haven't seen a post in ages. Or are we waiting for what would otherwise be a second lottery round (currently at Entry stage) for the data to be applied from previous lottery when the Confirmation stage comes? Or is it some ambiguous "sorry for any inconvenience" with no end to this in sight?

Read lodestone messages i would say.

Well im just speculating, but on the 18/19 (depending on timezone) they said in regards to fixing the bug "We expect this process to take approximately three to five business days"
but could be longer.
They also have extended the results timer to the 30th,(this info is now updated on the placards)
so you would imagine between now and the 30th, but in saying that they should give everyone a few days before the 30th to make sure they get to log in and claim there plot etc,
so i would think it wont be to much longer.
But this is just me guessing.

Ages? Do you not read the Lodestone? They have made at least three to four posts just about housing, details and such. 'Ages' would imply that it would have been an extremely long time as in months if they had said something. They started making posts on the Lodestone about it the day the lottery was over, and we would have had the results.

They didn't give any update since 18th, and for a fiasco of this proportion, yes I'd say that ages!

LOL they will literally never ever fix it. I promise you just be ready to be disappointed . Sure this little glitch will be fixed for now but actual housing issue where everyone pays for the game but only 1 out of every 10,000 player can have a house ? wont ever be fixed i promise.

2nd round Lottery restart was pushed back and the actual fix for this one should be coming soon I would hope.

Relative to fixing the availability issue that's not something in the cards for now. Lets hope this has clearly shown them the numbers who bid and didn't get housing so they need to really get it together and do something. Given the influx of new players ward housing isn't going to solve the problem they need to consider an instanced alternative be it much nicer apartments or instanced housing itself.

I'm actually hoping that the number of bids for larger plots, compared to the lesser demand for smaller plots provides hard data for the developers to hopefully plan a better solution to the housing situation.

So, after Tuesday's 6.11 patch at this point. Maybe towards the end of the week. If not it will be in 2 weeks, as they won't work in Golden Week.

kinda a bit slower than usual for these guys fixing stuff ..
i get bugs happen but with housing already in a state this has made it worse

sadly housing has been a mess since its release the lotto system has good intentions but ultimately still a really flawed system regardless
back in the day i owned 8 houses all with fc's ( to be clear it was never to flip them or make money i just enjoyed decorating them and selling them after a few months to buy another lot to do the same )
1. fc's are a easy way to sell plots to other players because simply invite the new owner to the fc get your money leave job done this system i assume still works .. so rmt and dark web sale can still occur
2. the lotto system is already easy to exploit as the other day some one asked if they could buy my lvl 8 fc for 100 million gil i said no but then upon thinking about it later on why i figured what stops 10 20 different fc alts owning fc's to increase the chances of a specific lot ..
in fact i read some one on youtube make the comment they had 7 bids on 1 lot lost but the 8th person bid on the wrong sub and they got their house ..
name change the fc job done in fact it could be used to make gil from flipping fc lots to fc's screaming for them even with this lotto system !!!

I'm assuming that they will be doing the fix when they add patch 6.11... you know to mess things up even more... But seriously, I do not understand why they are saying they will be implementing patch 6.11 on the 25th of April when they don't even have patch 6.1 fully functioning. So my guess and it is only a guess is that the maintenance will fix the issue. This would be really nice since by then it will be well over a week that my FC should have been moved into their new home.

Not sure who told you that, but with the new system you cannot bid with alts on your account for multiple homes if you already own one. And if you place a bid as a FC, then you can't bid on a private one. They supposedly stopped the multi-lot owners a few patches ago. And you can't flip a home that easily anymore since you have to be a member of a FC for 30 days before you can become lead. That was implemented in patch 6.1. Sure prior to that they were selling FC's like candy for hundreds of millions of gil but now that simply won't be possible unless you're willing to hold onto a home for more than 30 days. Not really worth it if you ask me.

SE screwed up on the totals though. We have nearly empty wards for FC only, and now with all those moving from other areas to the new zone, it has caused housing to open up by the ton, but its mostly slotted for FC's even though many of those were owned by private individuals. So at least on Mateus, they didn't fix anything they just made entire wards with just 5 or 6 houses, while the personal housing is still so limited that people had over 100 bids for one single house. :(

Im not sure by "later date" they mean a date after 6.11 , or if they mean at a later date than today.

It will be fixed after 6.11 in a separate patch.

They have identified the issues, but are still in the process of making certain nothing like that can happen again when they eventually roll out a fix. And said bugfix was never scheduled to be part of patch 6.11, since they obviously didn't anticipate the bug when releasing 6.10, so the only way it would have happened in 6.11 was if the fix was incidentially finished in time for the release of that patch. They are letting us know this won't happen, so people won't be upset when the issue still persists come next Tuesday.

And obviously, since 6.11 is an Ultimate release, they can not delay the patch itself just to wait for the housing bugfix, as people are taking time off work for the world first race. They already got enough flak for delaying 6.0's release at short notice and most likely want to avoid repeating that.

Well, they stated that 6.11 regularly scheduled changes neither affect the housing thing not are effected by it, so it makes sense to release it and do the housing on a separate patch.

yeah theyll basically fix nothing . at this point lets prepare to be dissapointed and wait another 6-7 years for a housing solution if that happens.

Now you need to be able 30 days old in that FC to inherit it or buy it from another player.

Housings gonna be broken for a month at this point.

These are the same people who didn't know there was ishgard housing dispite an entire event for it.

That's not what they are addressing. The lottery bug fix is SE addressing the 0 winner bug (among other things).

However, the lottery system itself will ultimately "check the box" it was always designed to:
- Remove the hours-long placard clicking against RMT and other players that used bots
- Get houses in the hands of FCs

That's what it fixed. And it looks like it did.

The lottery was never designed to address the housing supply. If people were hoping lottery, Empyreum or this upcoming bug fix were going to address the supply problem, you were bound to be disappointed. 1,440 new plots makes a difference to many players, but barely makes a dent in the demand.

30 days isn't a long time.

For resellers, the issue is will SE actually do something to try to find resellers and ban them if detected. SE doesn't have a history of being proactive in these situations, or even reactive when resellers were being reported to GMs. Wouldn't take much for a few brave resellers to use isolated accounts as guinea pigs to see if they can get away with continuing to resell. They may not make profits as quickly but the potential is still there.

The only thing that the lottery does is remove the need to be clicking a placard at the right moment.

There will still be competition from those obtaining houses for profit (whether gil or RMT) though at least the odds shift slightly in favor of the house going to someone wanting to use it as housing.

The lottery itself does nothing to get houses into the hands of FCs. It's the fresh supply and the FC versus personal purchase restrictions on the wards that are getting the houses into the hands of FCs. Once this supply dries up, FCs will be back to struggling to get a house especially since more and more players are now encouraged to go the shell FC route for the sake of getting access to a house for personal use. That's a bonus for players with alts that have wanted their alts to be able to share housing or have shared storage. Those players will be competing directly against FCs for anything in the FC wards.

sorry im noob with this account so it wont let me post many replies whats is happening say 1. youre the leader / owner of a fc lets call it frank fc and you have say 10 members ( not alts of you but actual other players ) and all 10 of them having alts with fc's nothing is stopping them all bidding on the same lot to increase the chance of winning a specific lot say ward 1 lot 20 mist there is now 11 bids basically by the same fc and well within the rules of the lotto system but turning the odds in their favor !!

this is actually happening !!

i was unaware that you cant change leadership for 30days was different when i had houses .. even still it may tie up gil but you know what extents people will go to to make real money or even in game gil its not stupid to just keep bidding on lots to hang on to them for 30 days then start selling them at huge costs..

also im sure youre aware of the extents fc's and players will go to to get a house in this messy system the dark web exists and has been used often ive read for players fed up with not being able to buy or camp win a lot for their fc ..

this could be fixed in a heartbeat .. just remove housing and go to a few instanced lots scattered in a major cities with backyards a basement so you can do decorating and the housing only activities that should have never been introduced forcing housing to be such a needed item for players to experience the locked behind housing activities.

the current system is great in the aspect that you can have freedom of decorating designing lots and on display for all to see but as the population grows and how its growing in the wake of WOW refugees and ffxiv becoming the #1 mmo how many housing servers can the game sustain before its to much !!

N/A servers would of been filled day one i can assure you if it wasnt for the 0 bug and most likely were as i was on bryn so i know the N/A servers well.

i moved to oceanic servers where zurvan is prob the lowest population of all them and there was plenty of lots that were not even bid on :)

in the end where does that leave all the players that lost till the next expansion or 6.5 - 6.8 maybe for them to add more wards again ??

if you look at my post #23 or maybe just above the lotto system is not a fix to rmt or bots in fact its just places another square enix system ( for the lack of a better word ) on a already and still exploitable system !

ok, so, as per the message on lodestone, the housing fix will be implemented after a separate maintenance at a later date after 6.11 patch next week. Which means, again, an ambiguous fak knows when!! I hope this complete fiasco of a new housing system will serve as a rude awakening to the sleeping SE housing devs.

They're already aware of the problems with the system. They're not trying to fix those problems.

All the lottery is doing is saving players from themselves by removing a mechanism that promoted unhealthy behavior (placard camping).

When all is said and done, how many players are going to quit the game solely because they're unhappy with the housing situation? Maybe 1%? That's not enough to get most businesses to act.
