I purchased early access from Steam but I have not been able to log in at all. What's the process to request a refund?
after you claim your pre order rewards you can't refund.
You don't for early access.
You can for the entire expansion.
(You already know the process)
You didn't pay for early access, is what Briggs is saying. You paid for the expansion, early, and therefore got the free bonus of playing Early Access. In order to refund Early Access you'd have to just refund the entire expansion as you simply paid early for the expansion. If you paid extra for early access, then you could ask for a refund specifically for early access. However the price of the expansion was the same regardless of if you paid early or not.
You visit a hair dresser, get the haircut. Contact Square Enix customer service and ask to speak to a manager.
It's not really something you're entitled to a refund for? Early Access was a reward for pre-ordering. It's an MMO with a huge population, teething issues happen. I think it's pretty silly to be asking for a refund. You are getting the product and service you paid for and likely covered by any agreements we all skip reading before proceeding.
Maybe I should start a tally for threads of people expecting something that they weren't promised...
first world problems are the worst, i mean we cant login to a highly anticipated expansion on launch day? oh the humanity how will we ever recover from such devastation
You paid exactly nothing for early access, it was a bonus for purchasing early and you know it. You won't get a penny back.
Early Access is just a bonus... however I wish I could get to log into the game on the EU DC's
Ah, I absolutely love that no matter the MMO, the protests about a new expansion launch(Which we all know how it's going to go down months prior to release) remains largely the same. Lovely.
I purchased the same from Steam as well and cannot access the EndWalker MSQ
I don't want my money back...I want to be able to play Endwalker!https://twitter.com/MarkosMartong/st...664067/photo/1
You are not guaranteed to play on day one. No game is. You agreed to it in the EULA you signed when you hit Play.
This is like the New World forums all over again. SE and Yoshi-P do their best and people still poo-poo all over them.
Your best bet is to get on Steam and look at the info there. Refund policies for MMOs and pre-orders might be different than other games.
But can get get a extension on ours suscription we paid to be able to log in and play not to get kick out of queue after 45 min
You did not pay for early access you paid for Endwalker. The game does not actually launch til the 7th.
in short yes, SE promoted early access, if it was a "Bonus" like many here stated then why the preorders and not just leave it as "official release", no, they went and used the early access as way to get the money from "preorders".
An quick example, say you get to preorder an iphone, you pay to have the item before anyone else thats the whole idea, that in the end you'll get the same item as everyone else is a different story , but apple promoted the "early drop", so if they come and cannot fulfill what was promised then it could be labeled as false advertisement , same as here , i understand the frustration of several here but in tge end is just a game, remember that....
Alright since people on this thread are semantic warrior I'll edit the OP.
How do I request a refund for the current month subscription + expansion? I am paying a monthly subscription plus the expansion to be able to play the game whenever I want on the 28-31 days of the month, yet I'm currently unable to do so, whereas free trial accounts who do not pay a subscription are able to.
Free trial accounts who do not pay a subscription are, in fact, not able to play until everyone who pays a subscription has gotten into the game. They are effectively always last in queue, and if someone with a paying subscription enters into the queue the Free trial player will be pushed behind them.
Dispute the charge on your card. That is what Im gonna do if I dont get in the game soon.
Some of these arguments bring me back to my customer service days.
The reality is you're not entitled to as much as you think you are. A lot of the things you think you are entitled too are most often or not offered as gestures of good will. It's possible they might offer something for the people who had problems they might not, but what certain is that people aren't /entitled/ to it.
The other reality is any agreements you make on purchase are binding. But let's be honest, none of us read them, but that's on us not them, they exist for a reason.
They offered Early Access as a reward for pre-ordering. They've not sold you early access.
However, they've given you your early access code and no doubt people have claimed the early access on their account? And got the rewards? And the early access status?
The only reason you cannot properly use this is because there's a problem affecting the service. It's not them misselling a product, it's not them breaking any consumer agreements, it's not a lot of things.
If there's a problem with your mobile phone service? if a TV channel is down or any other services, they've not missold you anything even if it's down on day 1 of use.
At least cut the dev team a break, whilst I have no issue offering them fair criticism (and normally it's constructive and not throwing toys out of my pram) when there are issues, but I think they did as much as they could to mitigate these issues...these issues which are common for MMO's of large scale.
With the massive influx of players recently, mixed with the global shortage of capacitors and COVID they've not been able to add more servers, which would be the way to mitigate this issue, because an individual server has a certain amount of resources they can give out just like your PC. And they'd likely need to be servers matching certain specifications, so if they simply cannot get the servers they need or set them up and configure them in their respective locations. There is a massive demand for these capacitors too.
And they've been transparent about this issue too and it's affected businesses around the world.
I can empathise that it sucks and I know people's excitement to play and having probably to do so. For sure. But folks are kinda overdoing it with the customer entitlement thing.
I do not think subscription fees are refundable. The expansion might be as it officially has not been released. There is a refund option on Steam. Help > Steam Support > Recent Products then select the appropriate options.
Edit: make sure to cancel your subscription on the account management website
Pretty sure SQenix will shut down your entire SE account if you do that.
Have you all ensured that you went to the mogstation and put in the Early Access Code into the Code Redemption system?
Under Service Account Status, the box that tells you which licenses you have on your account, make sure it says "Endwalker Early Access" with the affirmation circle.
If it says that and you still cannot access the Endwalker stuff, Congrats its a bug. Contact support.
You go cry in the corner and realize that it's the launch of an expansion with more players than ever before.
That sure is a way to get your account banned.
20 years of game releases and there always seem to be people that don't grasp the concepts of bonuses with early purchases. SMH
Off topic: Awwww sheeereet. Current position is 107!
