What Mount (or Minion) do you think just kind of "goes with" each Job?

While I certainly love me some mount-collecting, I really enjoy trying to "pair" mounts (and sometimes minions) with each of my Jobs. I dunno; it helps kind of sell the "fantasy" of each job, to me.

Some feel kind of obvious; like the Dark Knight, there are loads of dark-looking mounts that suit them (I personally learn towards Grani, the Shadowbringers CE mount). I currently went for a whole "Odin" theme for my PLD (and I'll defend my Sleipnir purchase til MY DYING BREATH!), but I have a feeling I'll switch to the Endwalker CE mount once it's released.

Most other jobs, though, I really struggle with. I FEEL like Kirin kinda-sorta goes with the Samurai, while the Firebird feels like a good Monk mount. The Dragoon, I honestly struggle a lot with. For Warrior, for some reason I like Rathalos with it! If I have the Witch's Broom, I feel like that would be a good Black Mage mount.

What about you? What mounts (or minions) do you think kind of "match" each job?

Dragoon is easy for minion. Midgardsomr.

Don't know enough minions or mounts to discuss the others.

The tanks all receive pretty appropriate mounts (if you do it enough).

Ironically, I feel like the "Panther" (black coeurl) is more suited to the Ninja than a Dark Knight. I do like the idea of a Lion, but it's a little savage-looking for a Paladin, imo.

I use Midgardsomr for my Dragoon when I'm feeling cheeky, otherwise it's my purple chocobo with Dragoon barding for daily use. I hardly play any other combat classes/jobs, so those two work well for me.

The obvious anything mechanical fits Machinist. Especially the SDS Fenrir and Cruise Chaser.

The Peacock as Mount for Dancer and i love the Chameleon Minion so much

I've done this very thing with assigning a specific mount to each role, but I usually just use the griffin which is assigned to my main (PLD), due to my character's backstory being Ala Mhigan. I had to do a bit of head scratching to make some Jobs fit with a mount though, but I'm happy with the result! :D

PGL/MNK - Coeurl
ROG/NIN - Syldra
SAM - Yol
DNC - Marid

I intend to replace AST and WHM's ones with the Chocobo Carriage and Magicked Carpet respectively from the Online Store eventually, but money is tight right now so that's been put on the backburner.

Depends on the glamour to be honest
Sometimes my DRK wants to rock the Baby Bat Minion, sometimes it wants to rock Morpho or Butterfly Effect.

on my sam : kuro shiba for the minion, raigo for the mount work pretty well (on ground only)

If we can't get class quests anymore, at least give us class mounts!

I tend to just hit the mount roulette button most of the time, since I can't really decide. But for specific ones I tend to fall back on.....

WHM: Unicorn, of course

For minions, I usually have Wind-Up Dulia-Chai or Wind-Up Ravana out, but sometimes I just hit the random favorite minion button for fun.

The Panther for DRK was a mistake. The appropriate mount would have been a wolf.

Dark Knight is an european medieval inspired job. The Panther does not fit into that setting. Plus DRK is kind of a "lone wolf" himself.

Fenrir is the mount for the Dark Knight.

Lunar Whale for Healers.

You're already carrying the team on your back in fights.

Yeah, Panther was definitely an unusual choice. I suspect they were just trying to come up with something quickly that they could match with the PvP armor-sets. The ARR PvP stuff kind of correlates -- Paladins got Lion armor then a Lion mount, Warriors got Bear armor then a Bear mount. For some reason they landed on a "Lynx" for DRK's PvP armor, and probably figured recoloring the Coeurl was close enough.

I agree, a Wolf would've actually made a lot of sense, I think.

Honestly difficult to answer, because it depends on what your theme is. I know my Minions and Mounts always switch depending what I'm glamoured as. If I am a typical Dragoon, I'll use any of the Dragon Minions and switch between Mounts. Though when I am in the mood for a Monkey Kind inspired glam, then I'll always use the Cloud Mount.

For Dragoon you also have the Wind-up Ohl Deeh and Midgardzormer minions. Ohl Deeh might actually be closer in coloration to the FFXI pet.

All Kamuy mounts undoubtedly belong to Ninja.
