My inventory is already shaking with anticipation for the release of 1.22!
I am excited too!
Oh how long I've been waiting for this.
:D
Yay! :D
.....
The only thing I hope they revise is: "Item condition must be 100%" :(
Also known as: Magical Resident Evil Item Chests
Can some Admin get infor about if weapons will be able to be stored too? Like Ifrit's, Mog's... future Garuda and AF weapons?
We are already sitting on 14 weapons + the ones to come...
Not a big problem
This is a big problem

I dont know
from the pre-eliminary information, this feature seems.. lacking
I had already NPC-ed my Onion Helm :(
100% durability makes it kind of pointless and too much effort, I'll probably stick the onion gear, pumpkins and easter event stuff in there however.
As far as AF and achievement items go though may as well keep it on my retainer.
What about if, rarely...

It eats you and you have to fight with your inside equips to go out lol.
Item condition must be 100% ...
this is one of those options that you completely forget about and use a mule instead, only thing to put there will be bathing suits, since they got no condition.
I'd have been more excited if it were just general item storage but this is better than nothing I guess. As an aside though why can't it just be general item storage, why are they restricting it to event items etc? Is it another server limitation deal or just a decision they made?
Awesome!
Only thing i think it needs is option to store the rare NM and Dungeon weapons / gears aswell.
(And ofcourse Ifrit, Moogle weapons etc.)
Unless the housing in 2.0 will offer greater storage options.
(With the possiblity of craftable storage furnitures that can be sold / bought from wards / Auction house / Bazaars!)
Im still very curious about if we ever will get option to craft any
furnitures or simmilar to decorate our houses later on. >.<
Other than that nothing, complaining about 100% repair requirements seems lazy.
Just ask for repair & go store it.
God knows why people asked for gil-sink in the first place if
you cant be bothered to get an item repaired.
Makes sense. Means they only need to store the minimal amt of info server-side. (Just item id.)
- Item condition must be 100%
- Only one of a particular item can be stored.
- Storing an item resets its spiritbond.
Yea can't wait.
LOL but my inside equips are all level 1 ;.;
I'll just wait for house keeping to let me out >.>
I think its a decision, we have retainers for regular storage, personally I wish they would delete Retainers and just have a storage box/bank or something.
As funky mentioned I think the bulk of the storage options will be left for player housing.
would be better if it is mannequin
I wonder if the Uldah inn will be fixed by then.
No primal gear !?
This limitation needs to be revised, there is no need for it.
It was already announced that only gear that cannot be reobtained that can be stored, can't be bothered to find the link.
This means that primal weapons cannot be stored.
Uh Oh. I hope this isn't taking the place of the paper dolls. =/
I just hope by Version 2 we'll see storage similar to FFXI's system where you get something like 100 spaces and you can store w/e the hell you like in there, regardless of its condition percentage
Maybe I'm missing something but what is the point of this? I really don't get why this is any different to a retainer.
What's wrong with putting items in a retainer? Retainers don't need items to be at 100% either.
The 100% condition seems silly to me but as Uriko mensioned, if you can't be bothered to repair store on retainer.
The non-storability of primal weapons is also abit of a downer, but not to horrible.
I'm waiting to see just how much storage we get. . . . 100, 150, 200. . . . unlimited?
At least this gives me somewhat room for more materials to be stored in in my retainers.
Best guess with the 100% thing is that the armoire doesn't actually store an item the same way a retainer or inventory would, it just destroys the item and then re-creates it for the players on request. Hence, they are not able to store spiritbond and durability information.
Not sure if that's an intended mechanism or just another limitation of shoddy server infrastructure and engine.
The thought is that this will prevent the event items clogging up inventory, lets think for a bit (this is not all of them) 4 egg helms, 4 egg rings, 3 santa suits, 2 reindeer suits, onion helm/goggles, asuran armguards, hermes shoes, 3 valentines necklaces that is already 21 spaces, missing some event items and not including achievement gear you may not use.
With this system, your retainers inventory is freed up a bit for things you need, like materia, crafting mats, gear, things you have gathered, things you are selling etc etc etc.
I don't think that's the reason tbh, most likely they just can't add any additional storage with our current nightmare engine. A list of item ID + item condition + spiritbound progress are likely to be just 3 uint values (or even unsigned short integer), which doesn't take that much space, probably below 1kb per character.
Lol, they might as well have just said "ok guys, expect this feature in 2.0" cuz the limitations are so dumb I don't see myself using this thing at all.
You already have that, there called your retainers.
I am not exactly happy about the condition requirement on storing the event/af/otherrandomcrap gear.
we all know how this works. this is not so much storage as it is a can retrieve/cant retrieve box.
If they are worried about people exploiting the things for free repairs put a timer on retrieving and add a line of flavor text saying something along the lines of the Armoire has special mending property's for the treasures placed inside but these take time to work. Then call it a day and be done with it.
