Ishgard Restoration Instances that Share Progress Bars - The Eureka Fix

Greetings all! Im here with the galaxy brain petition. Seeing as Ishgard Restoration was essentially a crafting version of Eureka, let us petition to make it more like Eureka- with the addition of instances which share progress.

With separate instances that all contribute to the same server progress bar and share it's fate timer spawn, there would no longer be any cause for concern about being locked out of the event, and people could freely come and go for crafting materials or to take breaks. There would also be no way to abuse this, as all of the server's fates would complete at the same time in each instance.

This world solve all of our issues, in once again making it a community event where everyone is capable of contributing to every server, increasing the speed at which it progresses, and no more lockouts. And most importantly of all, it would give us back the brotherly love we lost in the heated debates of " homeworld vs wanderer," and allow its to have fun!

I hope that I've helped to set Ishgard Restoration back on the path to a better tomorrow, with this solution to Square's current temporary fix to it.

There is a slight problem I notice with my plan that needs addressing however. There's no guarantee that in later parts of the content's life that all instances would fill and the fates resolve are roughly the same time.

To avoid abuse of completing one, and hopping to the next in that instance, all fates in all instances for that server should be rendered "complete" when one instance completes the set task, and the bonus gratuity minute to finish tasks be put into place for all instances- possibly increased to 2 minutes.

The issue isnt instances, per se, it's the rewards/scrips. The main reason that the worlds were getting flooded was because non-crafters were taking advantage of the "free" scrips from the fate, and that's on both sides, server and wanderer.

A simple and good solution is a weekly/daily incentive to assist other servers, from your home server; an incentive that varies between the servers depending on who is currently in a lower standing at the moment.

The reason I likened it to Eureka is because there will always be those that are able to work and those that are too low level to work. Or simply don't have the money for materials.

They shouldn't be penalized for that.

Some people would still be unable to get that inventive you propose.

It's also worth noting that there is no way for gatherers to contribute outside of providing materials to the market board. They shouldn't be penalized either.

Sorry, I'm at work, so I might not of been able to express what I meant to its fullest. Basically, the main reason the system is failing is because people are trying to "cheat" it, by using the FATE to be rewarded but not assist in the effort, server or wanderer aside. That isn't to say that people who cant "contribute" like everyone else should be barred entry, but they shouldn't be allowed to server hop and be rewarded for no effort at all. That being said the barrier for entry is quite low all things considered, gathering aside, since SE might not of fully fleshed that out yet.

Now as for my idea, to help explain it a bit more. Basically, not every server is going to have the same amount of crafters to maintain steady progress, which is why Yoshi-P was encouraging cross world assistance. Well there are 2 easy solutions. The first is to simply add a progress board and hand in NPC in Ishgard proper, this way, if the instance is full players can still hand in items to support the restoration. The second thing to promote cross world assistance is to allow for that assistance to be possible while still staying in your home world. They could add a secondary turn in NPC that would offer a multiplier to the amount of scrips of exp you'd get depending on which world you decide to support. The multiplier would adjust itself on either a daily or weekly basis, depending on which worlds need help. For instance if a world is really behind, you could get a 2x multiplier, if its mildly behind 1.5x, and if it doesn't need help but you'd like to still offer it, maybe 1.1x, a small incentive to offer assistance. But there needs to be something to keep things in line so that people aren't just throwing crafts at other servers just so they can get scrips faster. It's a fine line, but it could work.

That's the kind of mentality that sours this game, and drives a wedge between servers.

It doesn't matter if people are there to just take part in the fate without crafting in a crossword scenario, because the exact same thing will occur with homeworld players as well as wanderers.

Imagine that you're on Adamantoise. 100 crafters work to fill the bar. The instance then fills with 200 Adamantoise players that did not craft, perhaps they gathered, maybe they didn't. Does that give these 200 homeworld players that are not crafters any more right to the fate than wanderers?

Absolutely not, especially seeing as the reason it filled as quickly as it was filling is due to wanderers helping craft for other servers.

That is why I likened it to Eureka, where it is a joint effort where people may or may not be able to help in the same ways. Due to either class limitations or level limitations.

The widespread debate of "server inequality" and people not earning things is a sham, full of hypocrisy. That's not me speaking of anyone in-particular, that's the whole situation in and of itself.

If there are instances with shared progress bars, that fixes the entire situation. Crafters from different servers can work in jolly cooperation again. Gatherers can come and go to help provide for the fate. The crafters, or anyone else, can leave the instance without fear of being locked out.

There will always be people incapable of providing assistance, but with instances, it would not matter. Everyone could get in, and isn't that what everyone wants the most?

I know that you went over similar things in your own side of the debate, but they were quite skimmed over, making them seem like less of an issue than it really is.

There was so much vile hated going on for crossworld players, who ignored the fact that it's only because of them that the progress bar filled. They only focused on the bad and not the good.

I want everyone to be able to work together or just enjoy the event together, and that is what instances will accomplish if they're implemented.

Issue is that you're restricted to two Concerted Efforts per Stage if you only use your homeworld. That is not remotely enough to get the scrips for rewards or xp for levelling to be worthwhile unless you're into the thing (in which case you'd be contributing). With a FATE-train set up, those rewards become more plentiful and are available so speedily that it is worth it to run 12 CEs in one day instead of doing any hand ins. Crossworld incentivised waiting on CEs instead of handing in collectables; homeworld only means you *can* just wait on the CEs but there's an incentive to do all of the content.

This is one of the issues that was there: people claiming they are the reason Server X got their bar filled, when no one asked Server X if they wanted/needed the help, and most of those spewing that did no hand-ins other than to selfishly pump it to complete so that the CE would fall at a time that fit their own schedule. I saw folk on Twintania (our DC's smaller server) complain that before most of them had a chance to get home from work and complete the quest, their Firmament was full with players from the larger servers "carrying" them. Because of when the TZ for the majority of that server was, letting them actually do it themselves would have meant the CE fell at an inconvenient time for those from other worlds, so the impatient ones just invaded and took over. And then had the cheek to claim they were being altuistic and the locals were too inept to manage it themselves when the locals requested that they leave and take their 'help' with them. Don't pretend that jumping in and pushing progress less than 24 hours after the event launched was anything but a selfish hijacking, and they are the reason this had to be done this way.

I have absolutely no words for you that you will listen to. You cherry picked two small chunks of my text in which I was explaining positive notes on why wanderers are not the problem, and you made them negative with your own opinion of "why they must be doing it this way" by calling them selfish and claiming they were "superior to those too inept to do so." That is witch hunting 101, and it's actually a Terms of Service breaking offense.

They're crafters and enjoy crafting, that's why they do it. They gain more scrips from crafting hundreds and thousands of items than the fate will payout, and already have max level crafters. They are doing it for others, there is no need for such pessimism.

It was always meant to be a group event in which servers worked together to help one another- going from one world to another. Yoshi-P said so himself.

There was an oversight in not adding instances to brand new content. Every new piece of content since Stormblood has required instances to prevent congestion. That is all this needs in order to fix the issue.

The servers will still congest with homeworld players as it stands when the progress bar is nearly full, this has been proven already with data centers which have reached the next milestone of phase 3.

This means that if your side of the debate is that you will get less if you only use homeworld, you'll get even less now that it takes longer and still congests.

It's also not fair to the crafters who all help over the course of 2-3 days of filling the bar, as not everyone will get to participate in the fruits of their labor, and the crafters earned it the most- as it stands with the current temp fix.

Instances with shared progress bars are for the good of everyone.

A multi-server event might of worked and sounds swell IF IF IF the area would hold an infinite amount of people with no issues. It does not, therefore that was fail. Same as server wide hunts. Might of been nice if gatherers could of turned in supplies at the beginning that helped crafters get their supplies as they go along while they also earn script, but no...

Just today, a crafter from Sargatanas was saying they might roll a new character just to help Siren progress, because they are quite far behind in comparison- around 25% compared to the 60%-100% of the other servers. The crafters have hearts of gold.

We need to help one another, and instances with shared progress will allow us that opportunity. ^_^

What is far behind supposed to mean at this point? Stage 3 is the end of what Ishgard content SE has implemented so far. We know that from Balmung already completing it and having Works Completed displayed on the tracker. All worlds should have their Stage 3 completed before 5.15 is released, assuming SE even has more stages planned to be released at that time.

A slower pace is irrelevant now that we know there's going to be a considerable gap between when we complete any currently implemented stages and when the next set of stages will be introduced. It's not content that needs to be or even should be completed in the first few days of release.

The lower pop worlds do not need help at this time. We're perfectly capable of completing our works on our own. Help your own world out instead of obsessing over the progress other worlds are making.

IF SE determines that some worlds need additional help in future stages, they can always turn Thomelin into another Collectables collector. Off world players can turn in there to help with progress without risking home world players getting locked out, and it would be helpful to the congested worlds where even home world players can't get in.

People are only focusing on their frustration for the issue, and ignoring a proposition for a reasonable solution to server congestion. People were so prejudiced against wanderers despite all their assistance. Someone has to put a stop to it, and make it possible for everyone to come and work together again.

I will continue to stand by that instances sharing progress bars are the way to go for everyone involved.

The issue being that SE has never managed to create multiple instances that are actually in sync with one another. During 5.0 to 5.1, the 3 instances in the ShB zones were never in sync. Each instance had different FATEs up, or hunts spawning at different spots.

I said it was the optimal solution, I never said it wouldn't take an extra bit of coding. ^_~

Relax and let the building flow. Isgard wasn't built in a day. We have to work with the typical cluster SE gave us and have some fun with it.

You didn't read all of what I wrote if you think I didn't address the issue of people getting locked out of the Firmament on their home worlds.

The "needless wanderer hate" was generated by wanderers who needlessly trampled over other realm's Firmaments when their own world's Stage 3 wasn't even completed yet. By wanderers who were extremely rude in chats toward home world players. By wanderers who sat on their butts mocking those around them instead contributing to the Restoration.

It should have been needless but too many lazy, greedy sods spoiled things for the rest.

I believe Yoshi P made the right call on server locking firmament's from other worlds. People were flocking over and blocking people from its own server from being allowed to join and being toxic about it. Each Server seems to be progressing at the same rate as you can check on the Ishgard Restoration website(except for balmung). It's made a lot of people happy and it's a good change for the community.

Excuse you two? The wanderers were kind and helped craft for all servers, large and small, so that everyone could get more credit faster and enjoy the event. It was not the Wanderers' fault that there was no instance system to prevent congestion.

On the contrary, it was some of the homeworld players (mostly the homeworld non-crafters) who were acting with prejudice and hate in their hearts- these handfuls of homeworlders telling the Wanderers to get off their server, quoting racist memes from Donald Trump and South Park, talking about how "they took our jobs" and "we're gonna build the wall and make them pay for it." As well as malicious behavior and language that would make a sailor blush.

The way the event wasn't optimized ideally. That was the issue, not the Wanderers.

I'm proposing a way to fix that and make the event enjoyable for all, and all I'm receiving are opinions full of more malice.

Uh no the Majority of them were not, i'm sorry to say that. It was unfair for the people on their home world to be locked out because other wanderers would just camp out the firmament on other worlds then mock players afterwards. It was a good thing at first but people took advantage of it and started being toxic about it. Right now it's enjoyable for a lot of people and they seem happy about this change. Sorry you don't seem to feel the same way but I enjoy working on the firmament with just my own server to help.

The home-world players being unable to participate is an issue that needs fixing. If multiple instances were the only solution sure go on with it. In my opinion the fate needs to spawn more often (fe. instead of 2 times, make it 4 times - we are building 2 things at once so that should be easy to split up) and reward the players only once per stage because 2x 500 scripts is too much anyways.

The wanderers are their own issue. Sure some of them were helping, but the help is toxic in its own way. Instead of letting people enjoy the event for longer duration of time, the wanderers were speeding things up which made it so less people could enjoy it while the work was in progress. Doing turn ins when the server is done till the next patch doesn't feel as good as actually making difference and building stuff.

I cant speak for what you witnessed. I managed(i was lucky) to make it inside one of the fates on my home server before the wanderer lock was put up. The chat was full of people from other servers mocking us and while a few of them might have contributed an item or two most were content to just squat and take their spot in the fate for the giant reward.

I saw many wanderer bads mocking and chiding our world players about them not being able to get into the zone. I see the same behaviors on some A rank hunt trains and S ranks and I imagine they are part of that group. Best just to keep to your own rather than be a rude visitor, we don't need you.

You don't judge one or two bad apples and call the entire tree rotten. You simply ask these foul individuals to mind their manners, and if they don't, there is a report system for that. Don't lose faith in humanity just because someone wrongs you, that makes you no better than the one afo wronged you when you treat everyone like that for suggesting an amiable solution and peace. :(

Congestion will be an issue even without wanderers once the progress bar fills. That's just the way of it, and instances will still be required. I just wish that such pessimism wasn't clouding an idea to help everyone.

I can't un-do whatever it is they said to you, and I'm sorry that it happened (because I had similar run-ins as I mentioned with prejudice from homeworlders), but I'm certainly not here looking for any confrontation, all I want is a solution. Because there will most likely be more steps, in which congestion will continue for us all.

I don't want to be crucified for the sins of another who wronged you is all. I wish that we could speak as equals without the sins of the father being the sins of the son.
