I think the system is the one doing that if you AFK long enough. It's also hard to know who initiated the vote.
Party leader was AFK the whole run, who else can start the votekick but the party leader?
If not AFK he was just jumping around with other 4 players, when we had to use the magitek armor they just sit in front of the blasting gate.
So I know who I should be reporting.
Oh, and for what? Harrassment.
So the system kicks me for running the instance with other two guys while the rest of the party is AFK?
Cool.
So you are able to answer those questions then yes you "can"report them, will anything happen who knows and being as your asking if you can report said players one could only assume you are doing this as some means of revenge or something, and that just opens up another can of worms since you really will not get the satisfaction or validation you are seeking. Also please do not say it is for fairness or whatever, since if that was the case you would have reported them without even asking if you can.
You do you man, rooting for you.
So first, ignore the person saying the system thing I think they read that and thought you said you were AFKing.
Second, this is very much reportble as abuse of the Vote Kick system. Chances are they kicked you to get their friends a fast MSQ.
Vote Kick can be done by anyone. It just means a majority of them voted to remove you. That's why it's a "vote kick". The only thing party leaders can do are invite new members and (when members are kicked) initiating the search for new ones or not.
However, you also aren't giving your side here. While this is reportable I don't know if this was a wrongful kick because you just said "guys afk. Get to Nero I'm kicked." Were you talking and asking why people were AFK? And more.
I'm asking because I'm relatively new and I don't want to open a ticket for some invalid reason.
Perhaps you assumed that out of projection?
My only satisfaction is gone because I lost almost one hour out of the three hours of relax I get at home thanks to them, and they're never coming back.
I want fairness.
I pretty much said nothing else, I've got screenshots. Can I post them here if I censor the names?
Let's not give them false hope here, like you said later on we don't know both sides of the story. No Vote Kick is abuse until proven otherwise by a GM so any reason is legitimate, OP can report it but for us with no evidence of the encounter, chat logs, etc we can only speculate and even then we can't do anything. Contact the GM is the best route if its something OP truly feels they need to do.
GMs have access to all the chat logs, you don't need to provide these just give them the report details like time/date, duty name, players involved etc and they can pull it up themselves. I don't think they accept screenshots, but the Support Desk menu has a template for all the stuff you need to fill out anyway
"・Improper expulsion voting
This means excluding another person by manipulation of expulsion voting"

Thanks google!
Here is the thing, the community has no way of telling you if a vote is valid, only ones who can determine that are the GM's, and even then you will not know if action was taken against said person so it is sort of up in the air nothing has really changed if you report them or not. As someone else mentioned only a GM is able to answer your question, all we can do is speculate, and with the amount of info you provided we cannot even do that to a great degree. So, you say it is out of fairness, I say you are seeking some form of validation or satisfaction.
Though for in the sake of fairness since you are asking the community how are we expected to provided an answer if it is valid with only one side of the details, and that side being a recollection from the person that was wronged? Does that seem fair?
Rules in this game are wonky, since they only take what happens in the game as evidence, so unless the party said something, and the person who gets reported even gets contacted by the GM is such horrible liar they rat themselves out no action probably will be taken. Silent kicks are a pain prove that they were done as a means of harassment.
The question falls in the hypothetical case what I say can be and IS true and wether under that condition it is a valid reason to report.
I googled it, FFXIV support page says yes. I've the proof, I'll run the report and let SE decide.
If you think losing one hour of my busy life is a form of satisfaction or validation, that's on you.
What you say differs from my view of fairness, since I do not think it is fair to ask others to judge a situation without all the information, but hey if that is fairness to you fine it is subjective and can vary from person-to-person so yeah, still going to stand by this is out of some form of satisfaction or validation. I also stand by my other comment, I am rooting for you man.
Well point is I'm playing this game because it's relaxing and I can have fun and distract myself with no bullying at all, unlike WoW which ambient was terrible.
Heck, votekicks in that game were a "for the lulz", had seen vote kicks pass because "I don't like blood elves" and boom, player gone just like that.
This is the first time it happens to me in FFXIV and it was PTSD triggering.
Do not get me wrong I am not trying to say you should personally feel your issue is any less important or valid in your eyes. That is not for me to say, I was just giving my two cents. Also vote kicks still happen for lulz here, and for being too slow, too quick, too fat, too round, too short, too lala, not enough lala etc . . . point being getting kicked by a random group of people will happen at times.
Overall, wish you all the best during your time playing the game the community is fairly nice, and understanding generally speaking.
Report them, and then the GM can see what the reason for you being kicked was, and if that was a lie, then they can read their personal chats to see if they are making room for a freind for a quick clear.
Also, I just want to add, you can report a player, and the GM would probably be able to see who initiated the vote-kick, and who agreed to it. So even if you did report the wrong person, I am sure the GM would figure out who the right person was, and punish them (at least, I hope they would).
There are such trolls? Not gonna be fun spamming these when the Moogle Trove event starts. I usually never touch MSQ roulette due to the unskippable CS but 10 moogle tomes per run is tempting.
This. I've even had a few of them do so with the unfortunate sliver of politeness of "sorry, but our friend needs bonus rq...". Though I never heard what happened to them, the GM was quite clear that a kick made specifically to hasten someone's progress in punishable when made at the expense of someone else's progress.
It's possible they kicked you for "play style" reasons. You might've been pulling abysmal numbers and didn't mesh with their play style (aka caring about their rotations and speed of run). While it hurts my brain thinking that some people care about a level 50s rotation, there are people out there like that. It's been confirmed/said by the devs that a clash in play style is a legitimate reason to kick someone from a party, so if that was the reason you might not find justice. This also applies to someone who likes fast runs and gets pissy at people who don't. The party can kick that pissy person because their play styles don't mesh.
There are no consequences for opening a ticket that might be invalid and the GMs will make any necessary clarifications. Most of the ToS enforcement by SE happens as a result of player reports. The last thing they would want is players thinking they could get in trouble for filing a report. If you feel it's worth your time, file a report and include as much information as possible.
I would not bother reporting them. In my 6 years (and 6 days^^) here their response was 100% "suck it up, mate".
I was with Siete yesterday in that party, and I do agree he was vote kicked unfairly. Nobody said anything and the kick window just popped. When I asked why they booted him nobody answered. He was indeed troll kicked.
And half the party was like watching YouTube not even getting magitek robot etc.
I definitely think you should report them at least the person who did the vote kick should get a temporary ban.
A couple of weeks ago I was in a MSQ roulette in Praetorium. Four players from a specific server were AFK all the way up to the Magitek armor and when a couple of us commented on that thinking we should kick them, a 5th player from the same server said "we don't care, we're from the same FC so you should think about that". Obviously the group had queued specifically to mess with people so I abandoned the group once we got out of the armor rather than risk wasting more of my time carrying their AFK bodies just to get votekicked at the end. Hopefully the other two in the party also left the group once I gave them the free pass out.
Fortunately, that sort of thing tends to be very isolated. Maybe the OP ran into the same group of bads I did (we're on the same data center).
It's a dog eat dog world. If you see someone afking or in this case, being lazy with no reason or warning, get that vote dismiss started first is all I can say.
When it transpired that people were not contributing to the instance, did you try call them out on it and therefore they felt vindicated into kicking you for what they might have felt like was a justifiable reason?
Yes, I finished was a very quiet run after you left.
You should report them, the GM should be able to find out more information, the run was around 10:30 - 11:22PM EST
Well we found out you got kicked for no reason from Brightshadow, at least as in game chat shows, but as far as reporting goes, if no one harassed you using in game chat, odds that GM take any action is like 0.0001%. SE has said difference of playstyle is a valid reason to kick and since nothing was said, there's not really anything for the GM's to go on. Also it was MSQ roulette, so 3 people in the party besides the one that initiated the kick would of had to have pressed yes for the kick to go through.
Is that so? Maybe you've gotten unlucky, I reported someone once for being verbally mean to me
during 3.0 AST time with this DRK when I couldn't keep up. The GM was incredibly sweet to me
and told me not to let him ruin my day and enjoy the expansion.
I say report them. We can't have people abusing this feature all the time.
Maybe a strike or two on their account will teach them a lesson.
Not sure why this person seems to be giving such snobby replies.
You should be able to report what you believe is abuse of the vote kick system. I've been in MSQ runs where I have seen a kick vote popup for "afk" when the person hasn't been afk at all. Although rare, people do abuse the system and there should be a way to report for this. When range DPS are waiting upwards of 50 minutes for the MSQ roulette and you get vote kicked right before the end of the run for doing nothing wrong, that's pure garbage of a system.
