I got my Bard to 80 and didn't have any troubles.. I still enjoy it, but as the exp server buff is still on I thought I would level Sum.
I am in Shadowbringers now, but this whole time I have noticed just how squishy I am - this is only in outdoor content though.
I watch in envy as other classes can solo fates, (the ones with loads of mobs that gang up on you).. and while I have the damage I would gladly trade some of it - seems now the pet can't tank anymore it's making me dot and run most of the time and it's tedious. The trust dungeon went faster for me though which is a plus.
If I want to get a lot of fates done, what is the best class? So far I noticed Dragoon, Machinist and some tanks having no issues.

Since there's a lot of people leveling up and upping their Share Fate ranks, the fates are relatively harder in the new area now than they will in the near future. If you try fates in low pop instances during down time (eg. late at night) you should have less problems.Quote:

As SMN - yes - the gremlins are a special problem :). Don't fight them unless in a group - find a different fate.
I've had very few problems with SMN and mob fates -- except for the gremlins! -

Prior to Shadowbringers I had already switched to using Ifrit or Garuda all the time.
Somewhere between lvl 60 and 70 Titan egi stopped adding value.
I agree it takes some time to adjust to the changes between 4.0 and 5.0. -

SMN 76, ilvl 400 here.
I can kill anything that's not a boss in ShB within 6 seconds, 5 for FATEs.
For big enemies i FATEs just swap to Titan-egi. -

I was using Ifrit.. I tried Scholar and the difference was night and day! No problems with fates at all.
I also have found a special love for MCH :) -
