Heya, so while I'm leveling up Pld to 70, I'd figured I'd also do all the quest for Sch since I finished level Smn. While playing with Sch, I find I enjoy using it more than Ast and I may make it my go to healer job for when I'm made to heal and was just wondering what stats I should be melding onto gear for Sch? I figure crit is the most obvious because of Adlo, but what would come after Crit?
Potential dumb question about Sch stats.

You're right about crit. After that it's healer/playstyle discretion. Det is a good all rounded one.

I see. What about DH? Should I be worrying about that as a Sch healer or should I focus more on buffing my healing via det and sps/pie and have my dps be more of a bonus instead of a focus?

This may change with future patches as scaling to higher ilvls sometimes means one stat overtakes another. It's also possible some new data might come along showing DH was better all along. DH also only affects DPS skills and not heals, so there's that to consider.Quote:

Piety is hard to say. Every time I try to raid on SCH I run into issues with my group being used to WHM/AST outputs, so I haven't really had a chance to test how its MP holds up under the most strenuous conditions. Maybe someone else will have an answer on that one. -

Ah, I understand. I was a bit worried as I did not want to go back to Ast healing as I was not enjoying it at all and it just ended up feeling overly hectic to me while not being able to really do any dps. Sch so far has felt fantastic to me and even when I was missing the majority of my level 52-70 abilities, I was able to heal level 70 dungeons much more comfortably and was even able to dps a bit more often.

SCH mp managemeny sorta comes down to their co-healer. Just using your gcd spells for shields and dps usually balances out with the occassional Energy Drain and Lucid Dreaming, but if we have to pick up the healing slack with physick (because we just used all 3 aetherflow on lustrates and indom) and ET+Succor then our mp noticeably dips and can take a while to get back without a mana shift. Extended over a long fight and I've run on no mp for the last 3 minutes waiting for Aetherflow to come back

From what I have gathered DH doesn't do enough for healers to warrant melding. Maybe if you want to be the top of the top DPS, but in general I would personally go CRIT > DET. After that maybe I would meld DH because I'm not a very big fan of SpS on any healer. SCH, when you are just starting out, may also benefit from PIE.

I used piety hard when SB first launched. The job took a huge hit in mana management at 4.0's launch, but was rolled back and tweaked a great deal since.
The only stat that really trips me up is Mind. Despite being our main stat in base heal/dmg potency, it's never prioritized. -

So it's not really a factor except in a couple of cases where maybe a 340 item is worse than 330 item due to the substats, despite the 340 item having more Mind.Quote:

Since theres no base dh on healer and tank gear it scales very well at low amounts, and has a very noticeable impact on damage. And there are no "couple cases" where a 330 item is better then 340.. However, the 320 hq torreya bracelet pentamelded with dh is bis over the 340 genji bracelet.Quote:

Isn't the 330 chest from Rabanastre considered BiS for healing for the same reason?
Crafted accessories pentamelded for DH seem like they're always going to be BiS for DPS purposes unless something changes in terms of tank/healing accessory stat distribution. -

Thats not true for healers. There are only a few pentamelded accesories that are depending on the build better than their 340 counterpart and this doesn't really have something to do with dh. Some 340 items have piety and if you don't need more mana, you should use an pentamelded acc instead in some cases.Quote:

You cant compare tanks with healers here, because the stats even for classes have an different impact. For example an bard has skills that trigger/proc, if the dots crit and therefore crit is the go to stat for this class. This doesn't mean a) that crit has the same impact for other classes (it doesn't) and b) that crit is the go to stat for every class.Quote:

That's not to say it shouldn't be melded, but it relies on the premise that you're able to fully maximise the DPS potential of SCH (or WHM and AST, respectively) to begin with, in addition to coordinating well with your co-healer. If you can't do this, then going Det is most likely going to be the better option.
