Do Regen, Medica II's, and Asylum's regen effect all stack?

So does regular regen, and Medica II's regen stack? And what about Asylum?

Also, when I was in a 8man boss, I saw two Medica IIs on a player, so do those stack like that?

And am I supposed to keep both Regen and Medica II up all the time?

Yes, yes they do. You will be using that combination in 4 player dungeons frequently during large trash pulls frequently. That way the tank will stay alive while you start nuking the trash pack with Holy. And keep nuking until the tank is almost dead, use Benediction, and keep nuking until the timers are starting run out.

As for all the time, no, once the trash back is down to low number like 3. You do not need any HoT (Heal over Time) skills like Regen. Also, try to never put them on the tank during the pull.

Also, for 8/24mans, yes, multiple regen effects all stack, with the possible exception of Asylum. (never tested that one)

Also worth noting that Aspected Benefic's regen does not stack with another Aspected Benefic, it works like a shield where only the most recent one exists

In terms of HoT uptimes strive to do the bulk of your healing through your regens ticking. Like if you pop Medica II after raidwide damage and that brings everyone up to above 70% let the ticks from Medica II top people off instead of casting another healing spell. You need to be sure they won't need that 30% health immediately to survive another hit but in casual content I can't think of many situations where that's the case.

Its tricky but try to pay attention to how much health the enemies have left. You don't want to cast Regen or Medica II right before a mob dies because your tank will carry the effects to the next pull and these ongoing healing spells will cause enemies to immediately focus on the healer when the tank attempts to pull. Thats why you want to wait until the tank has enemy attention before applying any healing over time spells.

IIRC Asylum in the same group does stack. I'm not sure if it works for the other two groups in an alliance raid, as there's some stuff that doesn't.

Asylum has it own tick it doesn't stack think it of it like a Shadow flare that heals

Asylum is a Ground AOE heal..it 'stacks' as long as you're in there. Medica 2 + Regen is upkeep on Tank while doing other things.

Asylum only affects your own party, just like Sacred Soil and CU.

Pretty much all regen effects in the game stack.

Regen (the actual spell), Medica II, Asylum, Collective Unconscious, Aspected Benefic (diurnal), Aspected Helios (diurnal), Whispering Dawn -- all of these effects can be stacked.

As for when to stack them... generally if there's a raid wide DoT or series of hits, that's a good time to do it. If you're doing the 24 person raid, feel free to throw single target regen effects on the main tank even if he's not in your party.

You don't need to have a 100% Regen/Medica II uptime.

Well, Regen is debatable. As long as the tank is getting hit in the face, yes, have a constant Regen uptime on them and throw rocks at the boss or spam Holy @ trash pulls while it ticks. Medica II, however, definitely doesn't need a 100% uptime, even if it stacks with Regen on the tank. Regen alone is usually enough to keep the tank up to healthy HP levels, and when they dip below your comfort zone you have Tetragramatton and Benediction to save them.

Asylum stacks with everything else, and it's actually quite handy to put it down on the tank during dungeon trash pulls. You can try and use it to heal partywide attacks in dungeon bosses, but in Duty Finder most ranged DPS won't get in the bubble because... idfk.

Clearly they do NOT stack in 24 mans because the last one I tanked we had 6 WHM's and only one regen on me. /s

Medica 2 Just stacks partywise. Asylum does so, too
Regen on the other hand, can be used on anybody, even outside your group.
So if theres 6 whms and you only have 1 regen, none of them bothered to regen you because you're not the tank in their party. Even if, a lot of whms don't use regen.

But yes, you can have all of it running at once and no matter how many whms you have in your team, they don't overwrite each other like shields do(which would be pretty op). Thats why yous ometimes have two medica 2 icons or 2 regens.

If you see an "icon" for said effect..then yes it stacks.

Everyone gave sound advice. If I could add anything is as you gain experience healing, you will get the feel of when and when not to stack your regens, and when to boost them with Largesse. Regen itself is pretty much 100% uptime except between pulls and towards the end of them, but medica 2 and asylum are situational. Also keep in mind that in the later levels, casting Asylum will consume your lilies.

If running PUGs, the playstyle and gear of your tank can and will differ from queue to queue. Always let them firmly establish agro before casting your regens, and allow them to drop towards the end of the enemies health (the regens, not the tank haha!)

Glad you mentioned Largess, Gemina. I was going to mention that as well.

I think in a lot of cases for me, the Medica II is less for the tank and more for the dps who always run out into Narnia and never dodge anything.

Regen is pretty potent on its own, especially if boosted with Largesse. Like you, I tend to use Medica 2 when I know other players are going to be taking damage. Whether this is due to unavoidable AoE, or incompetency, either of these will flag the use of Medica 2, and I don't cast it to help sustain a tank when I have so many abilities that already take care of this.

Regen can also be cast on the move. There is a slight moment of animation lock, but it is so fast that a telegraph will have to catch you at the right moment. Medica 2 is the opposite, and not only locks you in a long cast time, but also takes away your mobility. I can't even begin to tell you how often I swiftcast this ability, because of how vulnerable it leaves you.

Regen and Asylum to help sustain a tank however, are a no-brainer. If DPS are taking damage while Asylum is up, it like, "Yo? See that flashy big bubble thingy? Stand in it and it will heal you!"

I do the same thing. I swiftcast Medica II all the time. It's a convenient way to heal DPS without being locked in place.

As above, Swiftcast Media 2 actually aligns really nicely with much of the AoE damage in Rabanastre, ensure you cast it after the hit for the PI and you can take care of much of the AoE damage whilst barely dropping the beat.

They do stack in 24mans, some people are just lazy.
