100% Lvl 70 1 Star Rotation and Macro

I haven't seen many posts about new rotations. So thought I start would off with the one I have been using for 1 Star crafts. It use 0 skills with less then 100% success rate, and will get you to max quality from 0 starting quality. It requires 516 CP, which can be obtained with lvl70 gear with max CP melds and Baked Onion Soup. I have 1268 Craftsmanship and 1191 Control from other melds too, but I don't think any of those melds are required for the rotation to work.

Nice macro, thx -- but what I am wondering about is... I see the layout of the FFXIV Crafting Optimizer in your post with the new actions yet when I check both http://ffxiv-beta.lokyst.net and http://ffxiv.lokyst.net ... neither seem to have been updated yet for 4.0.

So... what website did you use for this? :confused:

You can move the last piece by piece to after the final steady hand and slip in a second comfort zone in the middle of the 2nd steady hand II

That's true, I had like that at one point but I dropped it since I didn't need to extra CP. but should change it to that for people with less than max CP.

I have been updating it to support Stormblood myself. Just the new actions and recipes at this point, but the rest has been fairly accurate with the old formulas (within ~5%). I could try to post my updated version somewhere if there is enough interest.

You don't need 516CP if your craftsmanship is high enough. I have 1311 craft and 496 CP (you need 495) with baked onion soup and I just use 3x CS2 and 1x CS3. Melding +1 and +2CP in a few of the gear pieces just seemed dumb to me.

Scaling on progress seems to be off a bit through the lower levels. In game at weaver 65 I'm getting 340 progress per step with careful synth 2 on ruby cloth with 981 craftsmanship.

With 981 craftsmanship on your simulator I'm getting 355 progress. If i drop my level down to 64 I get 339 on the simulator. Which seems more correct if the game is rounding up. Not sure if this optimizer is only really meant for level 70 crafts, but accuracy through the leveling curve would be helpful.

Just figured I'd mention it.

EDIT actually can confirm it seems offset by one level exactly. I got 66 with the same craftsmanship in game and am now getting the 355 the simulator shows for 65.

As I said I just updated it to add the new recipes and actions, I didn't do any changes on top of that. I know the simulator is close but not exact as it used to be. If someone wants to investigate it and find out whats incorrect I can implement it, but I don't have time to investigate it myself atm.

So you just use CP melds?

This is a great rotation.
Personally I would tweak it slightly, to use only CP V's on the melds where it is more beneficial and not bother with the odd 1's and 2's CP to max it out.

That I was not aware of - so that would mean I need a progress of at least around 3386 using the simulator.

Do you know if quality is inaccurate also, or is it just progress?

If quality is accurate - then using the same melds and food you could go for this rotation, whilst getting above the progress needed.

A couple tweaks for your simulator:
-Initial Preparations requires a wait of 3 seconds
-You don't need to add "<me>" any more, they patched that out a couple years ago
-I think Manipulation II requires a 3 second wait, but not positive

I just pushed an update with some updates to the progress formula for Stormblood crafts. I still need more data on recipes above your level (and Ingenuity), but it should be much more accurate it now.

I'm using your simulator but with your rotation I'm getting way smaller numbers on progress and quality, do you know why? I only get 3215 Progress and 13643 Quality

Because that simulator is not accurate, but it's all we have for right now. The macro checks out in application. Can confirm, I've been using it successfully with a couple minor tweaks.

I broke the macro up into four parts, two main macros and two finishers in case I get a Good or Excellent condition (or not) on the last step (I personally do this with all of my macros), as I'm not sure if this macro will 100% HQ on a Poor condition Byregot's Blessing (doubt it). I also added in the extra Comfort Zone as suggested in the first couple replies. This allows me to use nothing more than a HQ Bouillabaisse (cheap, simple, quick to make and stock up on) and I'm not sure if the original poster overlooked this or not, but I've been completing the macro with three Careful Synthesis III and one Careful Synthesis II. All HQ white gear, just maxed on CP (nothing at all meldeded in primaries or secondaries), non-specialist. Thank you for this macro, it's been quite useful!

Yes, there are one star recipes that were automatically added if you had unlocked the books already. They're scattered about. CUL ones show up after the level 70 recipes for example.

Thanks for letting us use the updated tool. This rotation could still be improved (Move second steady hand to great strides to make room for multiple piece by pieces while obtaining room for one more prudent touch on the first part). But since it would cost more points, this one seems to be good enough. 3 Macros sadly. Keep in mind its using Ingenuity level 1, not 2.

I have done some rigorous tests on OP (Ermad's) rotation and other rotations here, and also tried to develop my own rotation as well. And I'm talking about REAL tests, NOT simulations (Sorry, I've never been a big fan of simulators. It's just me.). It seems to me that the best rotation is Ermad's rotation refined by Bdyer, with Bdyer's suggestion of moving the PBP to the Byregot finisher phase, and adding an extra Comfort Zone. It reaches IQ10, and uses all touches with 100% success rate, and it does not require any specialist actions.

What I have found in my tests is that, one doesn't need Ermad's original suggested stats of 1296 (1268+28) craft, 1191 control and 516 CP. With Bdyer's modification above, one only needs 490 CP for the rotation. As for craftsmanship, one can go down to as low as 1293 craft. In fact, with such low craftsmanship, I found that I could still complete the item using 3x CS II + 1x CS III under Ingen2. So there was no need for using 4x CS III as in Ermad's original rotation. This saves as much as 21 CP. As for control, one can have even as low as 1136 control, and still be fine. With such low control, one can't push quality from 0 to max, but one can still push out ~13K quality, which will have approx 90% HQ rate. See these data of mine:

Notice that although the total CP used is calculated to be 481 *fake*. But if you have only 481 CP, the macro will fail, because you won't be able to recover the CP in time for the Blessing (blue text). Thus, one needs 490 CP to start with, so that when the macro reaches the Blessing step, there's 24 CP available (red text). This is also something that a crafting calculator may not find out... and this is why I always believe one gotta do the actual crafting in the game to prove something working. Anyway, at the end of this rotation, there will be 9 CP left over, unable to be utilized. But still, having that 2nd Comfort Zone in there is still lowering the overall CP cost comparing to the original Ermad's rotation.

Unfortunately, we cannot put in EvianEverdeen's Trick of Trade protection into this macro, otherwise, the Blessing will not be covered by the Steady Hand if ToT is activated.

To reach over 490 CP while using those old accessores, I used an HQ Baked Onion Soup and a Cunning Craftsman's Tea (NQ or HQ depends on your choice):

Hence, what one can do, is to use a little bit of HQ mats. For instance HQ Beet Sugar are extremely easy to make (feel free to use my 40 durab macro that I posted earlier), and would add approx 1300 quality. This will guarantee your craft 100% HQ. So yeah, I know some people have been saying "40 durab macros are useless because we don't need HQ mats". Well, maybe 40 durab macros can still be useful sometimes!

Below are the progress gain data I obtained from the game:
At 1262 craftsmanship,
Focused Syn = 406
CS III + Ingen2 = 406

At 1293 craftsmanship,
Focused Syn = 417
CS III + Ingen2 = 417
CS II + Ingen2 = 333

At 1305 craftsmanship,
Focused Syn = 421
CS III + Ingen2 = 421
CS II + Ingen2 = 337

At 1316 craftsmanship,
Focused Syn = 425
CS III + Ingen2 = 425

At 1325 craftsmanship,
Focused Syn = 428
CS III + Ingen2 = 428
CS II + Ingen2 = 342

With these data, I generated a 1 star rotation of my own:

To be frank, it's not as good as the modified Ermad rotation above. My rotation here gets the same job done, but needs 9 more CP and 1316 craftsmanship. Its advantage, is that it does not require Piece by Piece. But as we all know, cross class slots isn't much of a problem anymore in Storm Blood. So I guess this advantage isn't that much of an advantage. Anyway, it was fun playing around with things. At least, it's the first 1 star rotation for non-specialists that does not require PBP!

The penalty on quality gain for recipes above your level was ramped up dramatically in Stormblood, up to 50% penalty. For 1 star recipes Ingenuity mostly counteracts this, down to no penalty for Ingen2 and 5% penalty for Ingen1. So using Ingenuity for a few touches on higher IQ seems to be worth it now.

Ermad, how are you getting base 472 CP? I was under the impression the most you could get at base fully melded for CP was 465 and then the most you could get out of food would be a HQ Tempura Platyer at 54 CP. Which would be a base of 465 CP + 54 CP from food, yielding a grand total of 519 CP. The rotation you have pictured above is showing a grand total of 520 CP.

I'm also not sure where you're getting more quality from this revised macro, it has the same amount of Prudent Touches (9) as your last macro. The only real difference is your added Control, which does help get the final product to 100% HQ and your added CP, which is unecessary. Try your added Control to your original macro or the modified version I posted here and see what happens.

Max guaranteed cp you can get is 554:
- 472 from max cp melds
- 54 from HQ Tempura Platter
- 13 from HQ Cunning Craftsman's Tea
- 15 from Stroke of genius trait

Probably been mentioned but if you didn't know food/tea stacks
