[Dev] Proto Ultima Aiming gear, MCH=/= BRD

Stop cross classing BRD and MCH gear if you can't balance stats. All of these are useless for MCH and has a BRD bias and some are useless for both classes.

That or delete accuracy since you can't give enough gear options and accuracy is a wasted slot in why it should be in the game to begin with

If Bard and Machinist are not the same though how can we ever expect Eorzea to appreciate heavy metal?

Those are not the only jobs that suffer from this. Parry hurts anything but Dark Knight. In 2.0 spell speed was awful for Summoner but good for Black Mage. Not sure about the current state of healers but I know in 2.0, many White Mages hated crit and Scholars loved it.

parry hurts EVERYBODYYY. Drk doesn't need it at all. they have dark dance for that.

Oooor, you just can not complain because those are free offered 270 accessories for casuals. Since the fight is garbage, what did you expect of the loots?

No they don't, they both use spell speed and crit. This is only a problem with MCH and BRD using different stats but have to share the same gear.

Also parry being useless is a different issue all together, since it is equally useless for all 3 tanks, it is not the same thing.

Delete MCH tbh.

I'm not sure what the issue is when there's literally 3 sets of right side gear to pick from now with two of the sets accessible outside of Savage raiding. Not all itemization is going to be favourable and that's just the nature of the beast. Just pick what's best as you can.

there is no 260-270 head for mch, you are stuck using 250. same goes for neck gear and hands. For hands you have to just suck up having the useless skill speed. Why does MCH have to be stuck on 260/270 for ring and brd can have 270/270? This is just a few examples how there is not enough gear options. It was also the same for Feet till dun fixed that for having a 260, same with belt I think.

However, healer gets hits the worst because of accuracy. SE does not know how to balance stats and it is time people get outspoken on it. I think this started off with the too heavy nerf to Det? Now everyone wants crit, the nerf did nothing.

...your subject line talks about Proto Ultima gear which is only accessories. Why the heck did you just run off a tangent to talk about left side gear now? At least be consistent with your comments and your thoughts.

As for equipment, it's entirely possible to have a full i270 gear set on MCH with only one piece of SkS gear. You could run the i260 scrip ring if ya like to dodge that bullet. *Shrugs* Not like that small bit of extra primary stat loss is going to dramatically drop a MCH's DPS.

As for healer gear with accuracy... did you ever consider S-E doesn't equate healer DPS into their calculations and thus healer's don't need accuracy natively? Not to say they shouldn't cap it to optimize their efficiency in raids but still.. there's a reason healer gets no accuracy gear and accuracy gear is absolutely unneccessary outside of things like EX Primals and Savage Raids.

[edit] Looking at your lodestone, why not post on your main? It's clear you do other things than craft yet here you are on your crafting alt. Or if you are just playing the game for crafting it seems pretty silly to get worked up about things that have no real bearing to you either *Shrugs more*

First they do. That is why they spoke about looking into the stat deeper, and I want to be more outspoken on why it needs to get rid of completely. We do not have enough gear options for that many stats. Get rid of accuracy or give us more options. Accuracy is not built well for this game.

Second off it is not off tangent, just more proof MCH shouldn't be sharing gear with BRD. We need more gear options. This job sharing is a nuisance to stat balancing and glamor sets. We need more options.

I almost feel like, based on your comments, that it would be better to argue that they should remove secondaries outright. There will be times where, due to itemization, certain gear pieces will be favoured over others depending on the slot, gear, and job. This will always be the case and will never change unless they remove secondaries outright. If they don't remove secondaries you'll basically make the same complaint a year down the road for another secondary choice because you'll never be able to perfectly balance the stats.

I'd rather have more impactful secondaries, such as say making Parry provide a counter attack chance when you parry an attack or being over Accuracy cap increases your Critical Hit Rate chance than remove secondaries out right.

And out of curiosity, just how many gear sets you propose S-E makes to facilitate all potential BiS builds for a character? Because there are a lot of permutations you can pull off for this and I personally feel it's not worth the effort for S-E to do that every six months.

I would also like to hear your proposal on how you would change the loot drop choices. If you have 200 pieces of gear potentially dropping from a single chest, that's just going to irritate a lot of players as they won't be able to acquire their gear readily unless we token system everything.

I will agree that it would be nice to glamour each job independently but I feel that's a completely different discussion compared to what you opened up with in the OP.

I would not debate that because I know it is a losing argument to the mass. However I wouldn't complain if they did. The balance does not have to be perfect but it should be better then our current. skill speed pretty much does nothing for MCH, this is different then saying it is simply unfavorable, it really does almost nothing, so much so a 250 does more damage then a 270 that has speed/accuracy on it.

Just have each job have its own set, like some of the PvP event did, WAR, DRK, PLD have its own sets. There should be no gear sharing. If there is multiple jobs sharing just one set, it leads to job imbalances when it comes to performance.

For the other question, just token everything. I am sick on.. being week 6? or something of the sort? where my friend is still unable to see caster pants drop in dun, while it took me too many runs to see healer body.

For example, say you need to do 5 runs to get whatever body for the week, just make it some kind of currency. Stop abusing people on rng.

It is still related, STOP GEAR SHARING ACROSS JOBS!!!!! Because having 2 + jobs access the same gear, it is likely one of those jobs ends up left on the short end of the stick , stat wise, since stats appeal to the jobs differently.

I'd agree with this just for glamour sakes. and it's not new either. mythic / eso gears were both job specific..

I hate shared gear because its often generic and not fitting of the job. ninjas especially there's very little ninja gar that looks remotely ninja themed... the weird thing about that though is its the only job that can use scouting anyway...

but tanks the shire gear doesn't fit any tank and my paladins glamours mean I cant glamour my warrior....
so yeah all for job specific gear sets especially ones that better fit there jobs thematically

270 Alex head is Crit/Det, favourable for MCH. 270 Alex neck is Acc/Crit, favourable for MCH. 270 Alex gloves is Acc/Det, favourable for MCH, what useless SkS? MCH was stuck using 260/270 rings prior to Proto Ultima, the Ultima ring is actually a higher stat weight overall than the 260 Crit/Det ring. Not enough gear options or just literally looking for Crit/Det pieces only? Also, seriously? Crit/Det 260 belt is good when we had Alex 270 Crit/Det belt since 3.4? Feet are fine with Acc/Det 270 from Alex.

I am sitting at at 1115 Crit and 965 Det on my MCH in BiS with i275 Anima. If you can't get Alex gear, then that's just unfortunate and you have to deal with sub-optimal stats.

MCH had a much better spread for the longest of times due to Alex gun being optimal crit/det, while the Bow stats sucked ass. Where was all the crying back then?

MCH can still get a very favorable stat lineup when accounting all possible pieces. You will be stuck with only one piece of SkS gear, being the ring. Obviously if all gear pieces are not available for you (Alex Savage), then you will have to deal with the frustration of not getting the most optimal stat spread.

Even if they do segregate the gear sets between classes, where's your guarantee that the available will be any better? Some of the better stat options would still be behind Savage Raids. Unless you mean to rework the system as a whole? Only give Crit, Det and Acc on MCH gear? :D

And then you'll have people complaining about how the top level tomestone (or any other weekly lockout) can only be used to gear one job at a time.

If you aren't harcore raider who want to DPS race, that secondary isn't affect much for every contents in game. You can still pass it with out BiS everything. Why people worry about BiS in secondary stat that much.

God, does it even affect all that much AT the Savage level? I guarantee flubbing part of your rotation is a bigger DPS loss than having crap secondaries in a single slot.

Maybe, and this is a crazy idea, SE balances jobs passively by assigning certain stats to gear.

Not sure when (maybe it was around 2.x) but once they explained why they do so:
They made it so, that we have to mix gear!
Their main purpose was to prevent us from farming only "one" Content... so we dont get bored.

You miss to tell that you are talking just from last 4 Savage Content, i am not sure if you played before when Coil was new Content or other Alexander when they were new...

Am not using any of them outside of the earrings...

Not gonna lie I was very dissapointed with the stats I get from the 260-270 gear.

I would complain about this confirmed, lmao. It would be a pain in the ass to have to get weekly-locked tome gear for all three tanks and all three healers, all of which I use constantly -particularly healers- according to my raid group's needs, and things like solo healing scenarios, et al.

Sadly, the first set of endgame gear in SB, possibly locked behind a weekly tome cap, is gonna be AF-like gear, which will surely be job-locked. The pain :')

Depends on the stats in question. If both stat options contribute to damage, then the difference may be small. But then you have stats such as Parry...which...well...tanks avoid parry because it is perceived to lack value and provides no increase to damage.
