i want a Stonemason o.o/
the problem with new DoH / DoL classes is you have to balance them for low lvl. you need new materials for DoL classes and new recipes and stuff to craft for the DoH classes from lvl 1 to 60 - but there is nothing we would need from such a crafter. we already have potions and food, armor and weapons for all classes... even when they start at 60 they were missing so much stuff and can't compete with the other crafters and gatherers until maybe the next expansion when they have added enough different recipes.
Yes or a Materia maker
sounds alright but it would be hard to implement a DOH OR DOL.

Shepherd. Never forget.
Okay, so Shepherd had actually been planned for 1.0 but was never implemented like ACN and MSK, but the fact that class icon was floating around online (I found it on a site that has since gone defunct) showed that at least one time SE were serious about adding it. So, here's hoping that SE may one day indeed finally bring it to the game. ;)
i would say the expansiveness of what we have already in regards to land and hand would make adding new ones basically just be taking stuff away from old ones.
Like a bug collector would just be removing all that stuff from botany and moving it to a themed clone.
Or a boneworker would just be taking that aspect from goldsmith
a battle retainer does what a shepherd would do, garden plots fill the place of a farmer
everyone is a materia maker in the sense of how materia is made. Materia alteration would be such a small item pool it would make more sense to be all classes like dye-making
Literally everything in game is covered already.
Even if they came up with a whole new crafter all it would be able to provide is alternates of what already exists at the requirement of adding a whole new set of cross-class materials and new sources of crafting materials in the world. The effort : payoff ratio is way out of whack
Magitek Mechanics. But a new playstyle would have to be added to support the class.
Magitek Battle Circuits or Battlegrounds. Jump to Lightspeed type content. If you played SWG, you know what I mean.
I love it, but these new classes need to have a purpose in this game. Right now everything that can be crafted, is already linked to a DoL and DoH. What will this new DoL and DoH do?
We are already have classes that can craft:
- Weapons
- Armour
- Accessory
- Furniture and other stuff for housing
- Plant seeds to farm vegetables, fruit and flowers
- Items to make stuff for glamour, think of catalysts etc.
- Orchestrion rolls
Unless they add a new feature, I do not think we should get another DoL or a DoH.
This is probably one of the best suggestion. Players have been asking for having more unique stats, maybe as a Materia Maker, we can make our own Materia with stats that we like? An example, Materia that gives +Mind and extra HP when using Cure. I like this idea, but I fear the developers will not add it.
Something like an Inscriptions or Runecrafting would go well in this game imo. Each class/job could their actions enhanced in 1-3 different way (kinda like a trait) by using these items, could be for any ability or skill or even trait but can only enhance up to 6 or so at a time per job/class.
An couple examples would be, for archer "Heavyshadow. Changes Shadowbind to inflict a Heavy status effect instead of the Bind" for a low level Rune/whatever and a higher level one like "Straightest Shot. Straighter Shots now also inflict a debuff on mobs that causes them received 10% more crits for the next 10s".
I mean, SE could come up with a million different things like this and it potentially could diversify jobs even further and who doesnt like customisation! And it doesnt have to be restricted to battle classes either.
The new class(es) is already made or almost done being made. I guess you can always shoot for 5.0 though (if the game's still alive by then.)
I'm still hoping for bedazzler.
I don't feel a need for another DoHand or Land.
I would think like an engineer or mechanic would be nice for doh since we got railroads and other magitech mounts. For lvling mechanic would need reciepes from other classes but when it catchs up for the new lvl cap it will be added to other reciepes. For dol idk. We could start it at lvl 30 like we did at other jobs. And when they increase the lvl cap new reciepes could be implemented with the new classes. I know it might be hard doing it and figuring it out but. It would be nice for something different besides dow or dom classes. Just a thought and wishful thinking.
So???
Disciples of The Mind
Psychiatrist= Creates personality traits that can be ingrained in the player.
Mediator= Creates trinkets to commune in peace with monsters.
Massage Therapist= Works kinks out of player's bodies boosting potencies.
Disciples of The Heart
Love Doctor= Creates trinkets and creates romantic environments.
Witcher= Calls demons to possess players and trinkets giving them new powers.
Mathematician= Creates complex formulas for enhancing player skills and gear above the normal math.
I would rather than creating a Independant doh/dol class, is unlock a "master crafter" class that would start at lvl 1 and progress as normal with own storyline as normal. The exception is that the skills are either a combination of all crafter classes or something unquie. All current recipes would be craft able by it with a bonus to whatever your specialists are. Unquie recipes could also be given tho them
Just tired of having to switch between 1 crafter to another to finish a craft and having 8 nearly identical armor sets
When i originally thought of jobs for the doh i wasnt thinking the specialist system, more like a combination of two existing ones like mechanic would be armorer and bsm and engineer could be like alchemist and armorer or something, (able to craft from both recipe tables as well as some new craft specific stuff)but instead we got this. If that whole build your magitek companion idea hadnt gotten scrapped a blueprints/mod system couldve been incorporated to make several new doh valid, materia maker/or alterist maybe even if they went along with the ideas about materia giving skill boost and traits....i can see a rancher sort of thing i mean we already got gardens why not have a farm too lmao
Seriously need more jobs; especially gathering. I'd love to see a Mechanic crafter that can create new mounts and an Animal Tamer as a gatherer for living mounts.

Sounds like arcanist.
Never played that, don't like tactical games.
I could see a "hunter" DoL that focus on getting hides/skins/bones/animal stuff from "moving" nodes on world maps, they could even have rare spawn normal monsters no one else could target/kill and only they could properly recover the materials from them without breaking them.
What i really think this game needs, is a third quality level beyond Normal and High Quality, call it Perfect Quality and make it be so, items are borderline impossible to HQ, making them big risk, high reward items that have some real rarity and valor. Right now for many if not most markets, finding NQ items is basically crafters messing up a rotation or pressing a wrong button.
Tactical games are not everyone's cup of tea, but FFT is probably the best FF in terms of story, narrative and depth.
Wouldn't mind new DoH/L classes, but I'd rather first see existing ones not play exactly the same.
"Enchanter"
A DoH class which can add effects to weapons through combining items and creating scrolls.
The scrolls could then be sold, and used by any player, regardless of their enchanter level.
There could be cosmetic effects (like Ramuh's lightning effects and Ifrit's fire effects), but also beneficial effects, like added poison or MP regen.
As they level up, the bonus of the effects gets bigger and the proc rate increases. And different effects can only be added to certain weapons. Also, the level of scrolls they create increases, meaning it can be added to higher Item Level items (like the glamour prism system).
A DoT poison effect would be suitable for Rogue or Ninja weapon.
A "Reduce Piercing Resistance" might be more suitable for a Lancer / Dragoon weapon.
Being able to add some small benefits to armor would be nice too. Such as Increased speed (running speed), increased TP, HP regen.
But for example, only feet / leg items would be able to receive "Increased speed".
Unfortunately, adding something like this would require so much extra work for the development team. I think it's just a dream.
"Scavenger / Archeologist"
A DoL class which can examine areas around the world for hidden treasures / clues leading to treasures. The more treasures you find, the higher your skill goes. Then, the rarer treasure you can find and you can unlock new areas to search in.
"Tracker"
Similar to the above DoL class, a Tracker can examine the surrounding to look for clues to rare creatures.
Uncovering enough clues can spawn the creature, which can drop rare items for crating. Some rarer creatures could also be sold as minions or mounts.
Subduing the creature can be done with traps / snares or some other method available to the Tracker.
The chance of capturing the spawned creature increases with the Tracker's gear / level / number of people in the Tracking party.
4 people in one tracking party have a higher chance to capture the prey than 1 person alone. Boost cooperation.
(Don't know how loot can be split though.)
I'd still like to see a Salvager class. I mean we have all these allagan ruins and stuff, why not see what sort of weird stuff they have that we could use?
i think it would bring the stuff wich are now regular monster drops and the stuff the fighting retainer can bring. skin, fur, milk, eggs, meat, claws... stuff like this
but because we now have another way of getting this stuff we don't need this gatherer anymore.
